I used to organize video game events for this business, until the owner decided to take the series Id built for him and gave it to another person. Ive since changed locations and no longer affiliate with this owner. During one of the events I hosted there I had a game stolen, which has never happened at any other of my events. Took my magic cards to be appraised, left them with the shop owner. When they were returned, my favorite and best cards had been swapped out for complete garbage. Contacted the owner to no reply. This business is shady. Would not recommend.

Mythic is the perfect game store. Their selection of cards rivals most of the big online retailers Ive dealt with. Their game inventory is extremely well researched. Everyone who works here is super-friendly and never pushy. There are fun holiday events and local game makers are invited to demo their games. Even the caliber of player is high - everyone Ive played against has been fair and courteous. There is some sort of organized play every day, as well as plenty of space for free play.

I spent 3 years trying to find a good place to play/buy Magic in Santa Cruz, and then found this place. Excellent staff, very knowledgeable in all aspects of the game. Holds several events each week, my only regret is not being able to make more of them. I cant think of a reason anybody would shop anywhere else.
