A small Japanese market with a limited but good quality selection. If you are looking for a lunch box, this place has a good selection and some tables on the sidewalk to enjoy your meal. I came looking for some ramen toppings, but unfortunately they did not have what I wanted. The store is a small neighborhood shop so I knew they might not have what I wanted. However, it does have most of what you need for Japanese cuisine, good selection of fish and meats. Small produce section with good quality items. Id shop here again for the basics.

Really decent little market that manages to have a lot of things in a smallish space. They have to keep the Pocky fans happy, the workers who want to just pick up a nice bento for lunch or dinner, foodies, the need for some decent beer or sake or Japanese whisky, and in the end you always need some eggs, a quart of milk, some trash bags, maybe a santoku kitchen knife and a new cutting board. They do an awfully good job. They manage to be a special market and a routine market too.

This Nijiya is a smaller Nijiya compared to others Ive visited in Bay Area. However, the selection of Japanese grocery here is very good. What I like about Nijiya chain is that they are focused on organic groceries including their own brand of rice, produce, etc. They also have a good selection of bento boxes and meat/seafood. Its a quick in and out for me when I am coming through San Jose. There is generally some parking near by on the street when I visit them.

Love this market. It was on the way to school and I got to pick up my dinner here at 20% off. My total came out to be $5.19 for a bowl of salmon roe, four slices of salmon, and topped with the small fish eggs (forgot what that was called). Such a satisfying meal. Would prefer this over the food on campus!

This is a great little market near where I live so I can always get a quick brew to eat or sine plum wine for special occasions. The cashiers are usually pretty nice and they have a good amount of products on their shelves. I even found some tea I used to buy in Japan so I keep getting surprised.

This is where you go to get all your japanese cuisine needs in downtown San Jose. Snacks, drinks, mochi ice cream, and japanese candy galore. Plus the authentic to go bentos and seafood selections. Sauces and cooking accessories and nice produce. Just wish it were bigger and had more!

Love, love, love this place! Proud to support my local grocer (I stopped going to huge corporate ones). They even have organic produce! Wish they had organic meats though. Still a great place! Parking is a little tough so I bike here and bring a backpack.

Its a little market but its good for most Japanese staples, and their bento is fairly priced and delicious! I prefer the bento here to other Japanese markets in the San Jose area (way better much more affordable bento than the mitsuwa imo).

Small Japanese supermarket right in the center of Japantown, with lots of authentic food at good prices. Their sushi is great and is very inexpensive. Look for their specials for really good deals on fresh foods.

I would love to live near one of these markets. Mainly for the good, cheap sashimi-grade fish and the packaged sushi plates. And the mochi. And ask the other Japanese snacks. And the pork sausages. sigh...

I love coming here to pick up bento box for lunch. Very reasonable price and restaurant quality of food. In my opinion, their sushi bento actually taste better than a lot of restaurants in town.

Nice little Japanese market with a good selection of imports, small produce selection, good quality sushi. Downsides are its a bit small and cramped, but its a great little neighborhood market.

Small Japanese grocery store. Decent selection. Very, very crowded. Although that could have been because I was there during the Obon Festival.
