For me, this place was just OK. I give it 4 stars on the prices only. There is not much of a selection to pick from but it makes up in that the prices are lower. If you are willing to buy stuff that is about to expire about in a month or less then it is a great deal. The customer service is OK. I got to the checkout and there were multiple problems because the person ahead of me wanted to use another credit card and had already rung up the transaction. It took around 7 minutes to get that transaction cleared and for the person to use his other card. All the while the employees were talking about other stuff than work. While I would probably not go regularly, an occasional stop by to get a few items is worth it.

My husband and I love this store. The selection, the prices and the employees/owners are awesome. If youre into wine, you will not find a better person than Travis (owner/wine & beer buyer) when it comes to finding awesome bargains. If you see the note "Traviss Pick" on anything, the odds are good the wine will be awesome, especially for the price. And theres a small town feel -- when you go in and the people who work there recognize you, its just kind of awesome. A shout out to Heather, who helped me carry stuff to my car when i had to park up the hill and Id hurt my leg/back and was limping.

This one is owned by Travis and his wife: great people! I found a wine I really like there, and when it comes in, they save me a case! How cool is that? The other thing is the COOKIES! to die for. I also appreciate the lean cuisines and some of the other frozen food that we are not supposed to eat! but I do eat them, sorry!. The staff is great, including ROSE. A great addition to our neighborhood. The other thing is that they kept the oldies soundtrack from when it was Cala/Delanos, so while I am shopping I can dance around to "Big Girls Dont Cry" etc

If you live in San Francisco there are only two things you know for sure about grocery stores. First, there arent a lot of them, and second, most of them are along the lines of Whole Foods. With that said, Grocery Outlet is a nice option offering lower prices, a slightly larger selection of day to day needs, and definitely better prices. If you just need to pop in and pick up some of the basics youre fine. Its not the nicest grocery store in town, or the cleanest for that matter, but it does offer free parking and real people pricing.

Although this Grocery Outlet looks smaller than the flagship store in Berkeley or the venerable Redwood City GO, it had most of what I buy at Grocery Outlet, such as brie and ice cream. The staff couldnt be more courteous, and of course the location is convenient for SF dwellers. My only quibble: not enough dedicated bicycle parking; I had to walk my bike a bit to find a free parking meter. Shopping tip: those sugary but tasty jars of Mocha Jiff are made in Belgium -- Nutella for less than a dollar?

Great people, prices and selection. The people working there are nice and you can tell that the store owners value diversity. Their products rotate regularly and a lot of items come there on a clearance basis. I have tried a lot of new food items not found elsewhere for a very good price. They have a solid wine selection too for a good discount. This is my neighborhood store despite other stores like Safeway, Lucky, Smart & Final, etc in close vicinity.

We were all sad when cala closed down and where worried when we heard it was going to be a grocery outlet... we are all very happy! Soooo many organic choices, so many culinary tools, electronics at times, and lots of other stuff. The downside is that an item you discover and love may not be there the next day :( also the beer/wine/booze section, while actually VERY VERY good, is not cheaper than anywhere else. Oh well.

Great low-cost grocery store for people who want an alternative to Safeway. The prices are low because a lot of things are bought from supplier overstock or are near their expiration dates. The staff is always friendly, but they might not always have the exact item for which youre looking. Not really a place for people who shop at Whole Foods.

Conveinent store to get bargains and daily groceries. Usually find some products of interest but wish selection was more diverse compared to other locations. Friendy store staff. Parking lot can get full sometimes so need to circle the block for a space.

I have discovered many interesting things here, but some of them have appeared only once and Ive never seen them again. They have some healthy foods and good choice of beer, but be careful and check expiration dates.

Low prices on items other stores or manufacturers cant sell in other stores. Check the expiry dates on everything. There are some amazing deals, and chances to buy products that barely made it past the test kitchen.

I absolutely love shopping at the Geary Street Grocery Outlet. I find what I need and the store is brilliantly organized which is great for an extremely busy person as myself.boh and the prices are terrific.

The best place to buy groceries. Lots of organic high quality items for a fraction of the price. There are always new items and a great selection. Probably the cheapest place to buy groceries in San Francisco.

Love this place for discounted groceries. Staff is always nice. Not the place to go for looking for specific foods, as things will go in and out of stock by the day, but definitely the second place on my list.

Place has killer deals, way cheaper than most, only if you go there on the right day tho. Because sometimes its hella generic but if you go there certain times, you can score alot of good stuff for supercheap.

Parking can often be full but if you come at off hours its less of an issue. As for prices there are lots of bargains though they might not be there the next time u visit. Just watch experation dates.

A good range of staples especially of dry goods. Affordable options for all types of eaters. They may not have everything on your shopping list, be open minded and try new things!

Everything is so cheap, it is great. Just cant go there with the expectation of buying a certain item, the stock changes constantly due to their business model.

Tone of groceries for very very cheap, only down side is the options are limited. Dont buy house hold and cookware items. They can be bought for cheap elsewhere.

I love the grocery outlet. It is one of my favorite stores for bargains. As long as you know your unit prices, you will be able to find some hot deals here.

You save a lot compared to Safeway. The downside is that on occasion you may not find some items. However the savings outweigh availability in my opinion.
