Husband and I were stationed out in San Diego for 2 years . We went to his market at least 3 times a week. They always had deals . Great selection of fresh veggies and a deli. Also the staff were amazing . Almost grew somewhat of a friendly relationship with the butchers as well as the cashiers it was very homey given being miles from home . The fresh made tacos arent bad either , my husbands favorite was the burrito . Theyre not stingy with meat either ! They almost always give a surprise flavor salsa so its very refreshing .

As Ive gotten older and understood the value of supporting local businesses Ive made it a point to stop in to check out local grocery stores! Ive only been here once to date but will definitely be back! Avocados 3 for a dollar, need I say more! I only perused the fruit and vegetables section and noticed a huge butcher section since it was a quick stop. Going back next week for a thorough inventory ;-)

Hidden grocery store gem in South Park. Its clean but not super fancy. They have a full butcher with great prices and a wide variety of cuts and even marinated meats. Its fairly small (about 5 medium sized isles) but between the produce and the meat I find my self coming here often. The owner will often open a register if he sees the checkout line is growing too long.

They have a good selection. For a local grocery store the prices are really reasonable. They have some decent whole bean coffees which is nice. A solid selection if beer. The carneceria (butcher) is well stocked if a bit small. They have good produce. They also have a good assortment of root/ginger beer.

South Park San Diegos independent grocery store. Carries a decent selection of everyday food items and dry goods with an emphasis on northern Mexican food stuffs. Excellent selection of craft and mass-produced beers. Full service butcher counter and San Diegos finest homemade salsas and chips.

This local south park/Golden Hill grocery is small but has a lot to offer. Great prices on meats and produce, a variety of beer selections, I love that they make salsas and guacamole in the store so its nice and fresh, and they have a friendly staff thats always ready to help if you need it.

Closed at 8:53... super lame. Jammed to the store, only to find out "Manny" closed it at least 7 minutes early. Apparently hours of operation are suggestions only. The owner wouldnt let that go. He is a nice Greek man who cares about his costumers first. Please reprimand your staff.

Fair prices on most items. Usually really good prices on pretty good meats. Tri-tip is on point. All the people are friendly except the guy in the moneygram station he skipped people skills class.
