Pluses: 1) they have a greeter at the door, who can point you to the correct department; 2) once you get to that department, they have a person assigned to help you; 3) merchandise is kept stocked and organized; 4) the cashiers (unbelievable to me, considering what they must be paid) are friendly, helpful and seem happy to work there. When I ran my items through the self help stand, and was struggling with a case of solar yard lamps, the associate pro-actively walked up and helped me check the items. The associates joke with you, listen to you, and know what they are talking about. The only downside is they need more variety of merchandise, and they need a way for customers to tell them which items they should stock. For example: Orthos Rose Pride -- stocked at Orchard Supply -- this is an expensive item for which rose growers pay top dollar (with a huge margin to the retailer). They also need a wider variety of lawn furniture such as chaises longs. But their landscaping section is very very good. The management does a great job of weeding out people with negative attitudes so thank you! I suggest the CEO do an undercover walkthrough of this store, it would serve as an example to the rest of the chain.

Price is the ONLY reason I still go to the MH HD. Lets start from the beginning A) Just try to find a wood cart - and when you do, one without broken casters. B) Walk in and be greeted by people who have no business being a greeter - they do not know their own products or where their products are in the store (spend your PTS on knowledgeable employees). C) Listen to annoying, broken-up P/A messages about being safe. D) Walk up to a barrier that closes your isle, but theres no work going on - on either side! E) Leave noticing they never turn their parking lot lights off - ever - for years (yes I have pointed that out before). No excess energy getting spent there! I really try to use Johnsons Lumber as much as I can, but being 2 blocks away keeps me, reluctantly, coming back.

Big box store making huge profits and they have one hard working employee handling both the phone and customer returns. I had to wait half an hour before she was done with the phone customer. There were people lined up behind me. This was on a slow time mid week afternoon. I told her that it was not her fault, but the result of poor store management. I am finding this kind of lousy customer service in a lot of big chain places lately like Verizon and Toyota. I remember this and move my spending where I, the customer, get my time valued.

Bad customer service ! I bought a husky screwdriver about six months ago. The tip of the screwdriver broke off so I returned it to exchange it for a new one since it does have a lifetime warranty The lady at customer service was very rude to me said that we dont do returns in the store anymore our policies have changed. I said thats fine so how do I get a new one. She couldnt give me an answer or any information how to exchange my screwdriver for a new one , husky brand

This Home Depot is much better than others in the East Bay. Service is good. Especially in Appliance Dept, Araks Bagheri gave me lot of help when I did purchasing. Due to the products quality issue, I need to return and bought again, more contact and more steps. she has lot of patients and try her best for me. I met her two times in 2012 and 2017.

Called for free roof replacement appointment. was told tomorrow, then told nobody in the area how about two days later. then they insisted they must put a 2" foam layer without ever seeing the roof when I told him I had priced out the cost of material(from home depots website) at around $1000 he cancelled the appointment.

The staff is close to useless. Staff members hiding in the bathroom for over half an hour, even after being paged over and over. And when they finally do show up they are useless.
