I am so disappointed. The review for this restaurant was so good that I had to try it. What a mistake. I dont think I will come back here again. I came here at 11:28 AM and ordered a rotisserie chicken plate to go. The cashier said it would take 45 minutes so I decided to order a Chicken Tikka Kabob and Chili Chicken Kabob to go instead. He said it would take 10-15 minutes. At that time the timestamp on the receipt said 11:29 AM. At 11:50 AM my food was not ready yet but many others received their food first. I was assured "its coming". At 12:00 PM I was told "its ready" but I did not receive the food until 12:05 PM. There was no apology, there was no explanation why such simple dish would take so long. My only guess was that they lost my order. I could have gotten what I wanted in the first place (rotisserie chicken plate) had I known it would take them 35 minutes to prepare two plates of kabob. The to-go bag felt a bit light. I came home and weighed the food. Chili Chicken Kabob ($10.99) weighed 14.3 oz, including the box. The chicken pieces weighed 4.6 oz. Chicken Tikka Kabob ($12.99) weighed a little over 17 oz with the meat pieces at 6.7 oz. Where is the pita bread? Am I supposed to get pita bread? Photos from other reviewers seem to show that they got pita bread. So I got ripped off! Not only were they super late with my order, they did not include (what I think is included) pita bread! Finally, food tasted good. I like how the chicken dishes tasted, the rice was also seasoned well. The "salad" was more like garnish with the minuscule slices of mostly raw onion, a little bit of lettuce and one sliver of tomato. Based on my experience today, I am giving Tayyibaat 2 stars considering: portion was tiny for the price, service was ridiculously slow with no explanation or apology for delays, pita bread was missing from my order, but food was good. Will I come back here? Sorry, no.

It happened twice with me. First time, I bought some chicken and meat and when I got home (in less than 30 mins), and I opened the pack, the meat smelled stale. The smell was so horrible that my daughter who was sitting very far also complained. When I went to return, the guy on the counter accepted the fault and gave me a fresh one. I continued buying from them but not on regular basis. After an year or so bought chicken thigh quarters and when I got back home, again it smelled bad. I also noticed that some leg pieces had small green patches. When I took it back, the person on the counter started arguing that he doesnt smell anything bad and when I insisted to talk to the manager, he redirected me to a guy with beard as a manager but this guy was also rude. I was also losing patience now. I asked for money back and he refused. I didnt save the receipt and now he became adamant that he cant return money because there is no receipt. After a long struggle and when i started raising my voice in front of other customers (which I really hated doing) he returned the money. Not sure what kind of meat they cook everyday. Stopped going there.

The meat dishes here are bomb! Thats what happens when you combine a butcher shop and restaurant together :D This place is small, with very little seating area. I prefer to just get the food to go. Their menu is simple, you can either get kebabs, burgers, chicken, wraps, and few side dishes like fries! I got their wrap which only comes with chicken I think. It was HUGE for 8 dollars. Definitely worth it :) It was packed with so much rice, chicken, and other condiments plus it had so much flavor. The lime cilantro sauce they give is also delicious and compliments the wrap really well. My boyfriend got their chicken kebab and I thought that dish tasted great as well. The chicken was a little dry but had a nice smoky taste. They give a nice side of tomatoes and cucumbers that balanced the dish. Overall I enjoyed their dishes and I would definitely come back! Great alternative to Dish Dash if you want something quick and easy.

Wow, this place is full of surprises! I was in the neighborhood and was in the mood for some middle Eastern kabobs and found this place through Google. Its got good ratings so was expecting a nice restaurant. Surprise #1. Its not a restaurant. Surprise #2. Its not big; its a tiny hole in the wall place. Surprise #3. Despite the setting, the food is so good! The lamb tikka was well marinated, perfectly cooked, and tender and juicy. The rice is slightly flavored and savory. The mint sauce is very good. And that salsa! Yum yum yum on everything on the plate. Surprise #4. The bakhlava (round) is heavenly. The best one Ive had in my life. Had to get a second piece. Surprise #5. Even their free mint tea is tasty!

I have been going here for a cpl of years. Their meat is top quality and i always get what i want. Their food is amazing. They always serve with a smile and are very friendly. They go out of the way to ensure that u r satisfied. My fav r their Tikka kabobs-lamb and beef. They are the only place where you get a very rotisserie which is juicy and has spices in it, not bland at all. Love their Afghan tea. Be sure to call them and order if u go there during lunch hour, they r packed!

The chili lamb kebab plate was great. Sometimes the modesty of great comfort foods can make it easy to overlook. Every component of this dish is well executed. The tomato and cucumber salad is fresh, bright and acidic... The rice is perfectly prepared in texture, consistency, and flavor with just the right amount of oil, fennel, and smoky spices. The lamb chili kebab was moist, flavorful and crispy on the outside. The flat bread had a good crisp, dry, sour flavor to it.

The meat quality is bar none some of the best Halal meat in the bay area. The burgers are good and the kababs are OK as well. The seating is not particularly comfortable and of there with kids its difficult to give them their space. The food takes time to cook so either order ahead or plan on a bit of a wait. Friendly service and clean.

I ordered them for goat chops in the morning and was told to pick it up after 3. I called back at 3 and they said it is being cut right now and we will be keeping it aside for you. However when I go to pick it up they said they have sold it to some other customer. Ridiculous attitude. Never going to this place again.

Tasty kabobs made from fresh meat. Its a small butcher shop with a open kitchen and a few tables. The kabobs were moist, adequately seasoned and very tasty. I usually prefer lamb over beef, but here the beef kabobs tasted better than the lamb ones. If you use yelp, check in the to get a free baklava.

Visiting tayyibat is always a pleasant experience. Great food, great quality, serving size is more than what you pay for, hence very reasonably priced. The sitting inside is small, its half meat shop half restaurant. Everything here is halal including the meat shop. Love the cheese burger.

Delicious food, especially the chicken chili and chicken tikka kabobs! Green sauce (probably has a more formal name) is heavenly on top of everything. They have great customer service and the food is always ready really fast even on a crowded lunch hour. One of my favorites in the Bay!
