Ten years ago, when I was wealthier, I discovered Nob Hill Foods and made a conscious choice to drive the extra miles from Crockett to Martinez to do my grocery-shopping there, enjoying the rolling hills scenery of Hwy 4 along the way. I still shop at this grocery store, although less often, due to my tightened budget. Now, my grocery-shopping trips usually coincide with the days when I am also working in Martinez. During these past ten years, the staff of Nob Hill Foods has remained fairly stable. This is a plus. I like seeing familiar faces at any business. A few years ago, the store was remodeled. It looks and feels richer. For example, besides the new, classy flooring and attractive shelving, the store owners added a sushi display case behind which a chef is making fresh sushi.

Superb daily service! Place is awesome! Especially the Deli crew! Everyone smiles in the Deli, and takes excitement about helping patrons. Sandwiches are made really good too! Good deals too! Only drawback about this is place is the tall, willowy Cashier who works the self service registers, and Floral: very rude, never smiles, and Unempathetic. I will continue to enjoy this place!!!

Nice place to grab something for lunch! There is a small deli and sushi bar, hot soup bar and a good selection of prepackaged salads and the like for when you have limited time. The seating outside is limited and there could be more staff, especially for lunch time crowds at the deli counter where a good sized line can build up around 12 noon M-F.

Very good place to shop, always good produce and meat! It is more pricy than Safeway or Luckys but very much worth it if you have the money. You pay for what you get! 99% of the people are very helpful and friendly, lots of organic items too. My take on this chain is it is in between a Safeway and whole foods.

Usually pretty overpriced. I think every Monday they have deals that are reasonable. For a regular shopping spot, I would not recommend. If its the only thing around and you need something in a pinch, I say go for it. The staff is always nice. Many of them have been there for years so theyll treat you nice.

Nob Hill in Martinez is ALWAYS impeccably clean and staff is always always friendly, helpful, and courteous. The shelves and produce is displayed nicely and full of products. And the store is always clean with a clean smell and never smells like stinky fish.

Expensive, but good selection for groceries. If I am just shopping for groceries I tend to go down the hill to Safeway. However, Nob Hill is in a shopping center with Kinders, CVS, and Pet Food express will open soon.

Surprisingly good selection of upper shelf items and a decent/small organic fresh veg section. Small but good wine/beer selection too. Nice/fast self check out lanes (four). Dont forget to bring your own bags.

They have few brands and many times dont carry the variety or flavors of other grocery stores. Their prices are higher and without the extra perks like gas points its tough to compete with Safeway.

Friendly staff. Great food selections. Seems very busy for such a small store. Cashiers are always ready to talk to you and share recipes or tips. I love this place.
