I did not go to the bike store itself, but this review is based on my experience of purchasing through their website. I tried to browse through their website for a place to give my review and they had none. My experience with this company was extremely terrible. Their website is filled with many glitches and bugs that made purchasing items an extreme hassle. Your cart items would disappear after switching to a different website regardless if you were logged into an account or not. The promo codes would not work if you already have enter it in and then choose to remove an item. They do not keep you updated on anything about the pre-order items. Also, the customer support was a poor experience as well. Both representatives gave me different information about whether the pre-order item has arrived or not. In addition, I had to wait two times for a "supervisor" to either give an approval on switching an item. Both times either the supervisor was on lunch or in a meeting and if I had given my number they would call me back as soon as possible. I wish that was the case, but sadly it was not I had to call them back a few hours later and ask if the supervisor was ready. "he is now coincidentally" After discussing with him about switching an item, he let me know that now because I chose to switch the frameset I would not be able to return it and that I would have to wait even longer to even pick up the items. I wish I could take my money back and take my business elsewhere, but it is now too late. Seriously would not come back to this website again. 1/5 -__-

i got totally ripped off at Jax bicycle. Paid for a rebuild for a bike i got on craigslist and its previous owner had assembled it with incredibly dangerous potential. got the call for pickup the next day and didnt notice till i got home that Jax hadnt done crap to the bike. yet charged me wholeheartedly. the chain was loose. the tires were low on psi... very low. angered was I. yet i did not want to deal with them ever again. went to CityGrounds for the same thing, a rebuild. 2 days later.... my bike was completely dialed in and properly lubed. not to mention they slapped on some gatorskins and I swapped out to some upgraded pedals. city groundscustomer service sets a great/and superior example to all bike shops in the area. not to mention i wanted to drop some coin on some upgraded parts and was told it could potentially be a waste of money due to my bike being outfitted with great stock components. in otherwords, they didnt allow me to spend money for the sake of making a profit. they were honest and said to keep that $ $ for a steak dinner. in this day and age, its hard to find good , honest customer service with a smile. and the smiles at city grounds are genuine, . not forced by management. i will deal with city grounds exclusively and i send referrals there all the time. ive put 1,000 miles on my bike and no issues have arisen. cant wait to get my next bike from city grounds. . . bianchi, here i come ! just be patient for my funds take time to develop. hahahah

I went inside the store, hoping I could get some help. I asked this guy a question about my headset and tried to show him whats wrong with it and he answers my question with an answer he felt confident about but it wasnt correct. I knew it wasnt correct because I went to a different bike store that actually helps you without an attitude, and told me that I needed a different headset that could fit my size headset for my frame. The City Grounds worker stated that I needed spacers, but I had a tons of those at home and I tried to fix it with spacers myself the day before the visit. I wanted him to see whats wrong with my headset but he immediately went to the feeling of not wanting to help me.I felt as if my values of a customer wasnt wanted or needed. I left disappointed without any help. I was willing to pay for the price of the fixing but all he stated was, "trust me bro, you need spacers." There were no sign of willingness to help or even an eye to eye contact with this guy. I dont know his name but a tall Asian guy. I even said thank you while leaving but not even a single appreciation for coming. Left me disappointed.

I dont know if somebody is going to read this but. O well, might as well give it a try. In my point of view, its a shame there is the 10 Star option. I LOVE my new bike, I got the Aventon Mataro Low complete with parts of CG. And it was great. I order it on friday so I was expecting that the process wouldve start on Monday of the next week. So they give the clients a code to track my package, and so on. It took about a week to get to the FedEx facility (Maryland). But everything got spotless, took it to assemble and I was SOOOO HAPPY once I saw it. I never got the free lights but I dont care. There are people that complain for stupid things, people thatll give a 1 star because un bolt wasnt there, but they dont realize EVERYTHING else that came in excellente conditions. So for the people that give bad reviews for stupid things, nobody is perfect, neither citygrounds, but look at the good stuff they offer, and trust... most of it is awesome.

Terrible service; cashier thought he was so cool for selling fixed gear bikes. Went in to tighten a loose right crank arm, and then cashier proceedes to tell me "you might need to replace your bottom bracket for about $40, uhh cheapest crank set we have is like $80... Yeah that should take care of all your problems." If I wanted to buy a new bike I would have. Then he has their shop assistant tighten my crank arm like I originally asked and she didnt even have a price point for that she guessed $5... At the same time 2 customers went in with flats and both got turned away. The lady had her own inner tube too. These guys suck big time. Over priced at that.

I ordered a bike from their online website which it said they had in stock. I waited three days then called city grounds to find out that they did not have the bike in stock, and also had not even ordered the bike in the first place. Overall, disappointed because I was under the impression that they had the bike in stock. Two stars because the shop was easy to reach, and they allowed me to cancel my order with a full refund. If you are ordering a bike from their online website, I would recommend calling first to make sure your bike is actually in stock before ordering it.

I ordered from CG, a frame, wheel set and some other goodies. The items came packaged very well. Protected but easy to get into. Frame was straight, wheel set was straight..... The one thing that struck me as odd but comforting. I ordered the parts on Card A and had the delivered to my employer. So I got a call from City Grounds asking me why the billing address was "A" and the shipping address was "B". Then asked me to verify some other information. Which was very comforting to me to know they care about thieves and credit card misuse. Highly recommend for DIY Builds.
