Having read the other glowing reviews of this place, I really wanted to like it, as Im a big fan of supporting small businessmen, but I had a bad experience with them. My friends 75th birthday was yesterday (a Tuesday), and so on Friday morning, before this store opened, I placed my order online. On Monday afternoon, three and a half workdays after I placed my order (theyre open both Saturday and Sunday), I received an e-mail from the owner saying that there was a mishap, my order was not previously received, and they didnt have the mini Calla Lilies for the arrangement. I had specifically chosen that particular arrangement for the Calla Lilies, as it is my dear friends favorite flower, and I explained as much to Susan. A few hours later, and I get another e-mail saying that they were able to get the mini Callas after all. I had asked that an artificial butterfly be included, and they said they would. So I thought everything was good--Susan seemed to have worked to ensure that my wishes as a customer were kept. Then the arrangement was not delivered on time. To be fair, I do not know whether the delivery person came to my friends house, found no one home, tried calling my friend and got no answer, and so they chose not to leave the arrangement on the doorstep, or if they called from the office, and when they got no answer, they didnt attempt delivery. Either way, that was a disappointment (and waiting until dinnertime to make a flower delivery for a special occasion seems poorly-planned, even with the mishap). Today, my friend gets the arrangement, and sends me pictures. The website description was, "A plum-colored glass cube vase, filled with burgundy hydrangea, bronze mini callas and hypericum, accented with salal." The picture and description I got from my friend was not at all what the official description indicated, and I was disappointed with what was actually sent. In the end, I was not impressed. Update: I wrote to Susan after posting this, explained my dissatisfaction with the arrangement, and asked for a 50% refund. Susan apologized, and offered to either provide the 50% refund, or send out a new arrangement. As the occasion was already over, I chose the refund, which she gave me. I appreciated that she provided the refund with no hesitation and was very polite during the exchange, but unfortunately, in the end, the occasion was still less than perfect for my friend.

WOW! So I buy flowers for my mother for almost every holiday or special occasion. I travel a lot for work and usually purchase them online to be delivered! I have always been very happy with what ends up being delivered so there is quite a high expectation when it comes to floral arrangements for my mother! Today was her birthday and since I am not traveling, I hadnt made my customary purchase. So I Googled florist shops around my area. Cypress Florist came up and was the 2nd of two shops that I checked out. The first one was not very impressive, however as soon as I walked in Cypress Florist, I noticed that they had A LOT to offer. I was greeted by Susan, who was very nice and extremely helpful. She asked me a few questions about what I was looking for. By the 2nd or 3rd question she said "I see, I think I know what you want." Skeptically, I thought "ok lets see." She quickly began to construct an arrangement right there in front of me. Without out stopping, she milled about the shop, grabbing this and that, all the while talking to me. I learned a lot about flowers and a the floral industry, and even learned that she has been at this location for 19 years and has developed lasting relationships with many prominent clients! THIS WOMAN KNOWS WHAT SHE IS DOING! Before I knew it, she was presenting me with the most beautiful bouquet of flowers, which my Mother LOVED!! In this day and age of fast paced, E-commerce dominant, technologic convenience, it was refreshing to try the conventional way of shopping and see that quality customer service still exists!! I feel its important to celebrate people that go the extra mile and that exhibit this level of customer service by giving our business to these establishments. Not only, did I enjoy my trip to this florist, I got my moneys worth!! Susan is only one person, and a human one at that. I know that she cant be all things to everyone. But if you come in with an open mind and let her do her thing, suspending judgement, you just might have the same experience that I had today! At any rate, I will definitely be returning to Cypress Florist whenever I need flowers!!!! Thank you Susan for making my experience so wonderful and for sharing your insight as well as your story with me! And thank you for your passion for your business and dedication to your customers!! It really shows and makes all the difference!

I ordered flowers for my Great Grandmother funeral services via Teleflora, specifically requested a photo of the finished product since I live 1100 miles away and cant attend the services. I didnt receive a photo of the finished product so I decided to call and check the status to ensure they were delivered today considering the services are right away the next morning. I spoke with "Pocahontas" who preceded to tell me if I didnt ask for a photo once they were completed then I wasnt getting it. I advised her I did request for a photo when I placed the order. Her response "Well, youll need to call back and speak with Susan" followed by click. I was hung up on. When I called back "Pocahontas" answered again, when I asked why she hung up on me she said she wasnt going to be talked to disrespectfully. I explained I wasnt being disrespectful and just explaining that I did request photos. Yet again Pocahontas proceeds to tell me I need to speak with Susan tomorrow and hangs up on me AGAIN! By far the WORST customer service Ive ever received. Being a customer service manager this disgusts me to know some individuals feel they can treat customers (who gives them business, pays their paycheck, THEIR BLOODLINE) with such disrespect. I NEVER purchase from them again because of this experience. Customer service is KEY to any business, Cypress Florist has lost my business and I will be sure to make sure my local family doesnt use you either.

My name is Susan, I am the Owner of Cypress Florist, We have serving this community for over 20 years, This is the first time we had dealt with this kind of problem with a customer, we would like to let all of our customers to know that should give all their orders to the florist directly because on-line directory all the wire services give discounts and coupons, they look like their giving you a better deal, but discount monies are not added to the orders we receive, so we fill the order to the value that they send to us, On top of that they take 27% commission from us . + $2.50 for each order. and they charge- service charges to customer, it would really help all the small businesses, we are asking for all of your support ! Thank You.

Ive been buying my flowers from Cypress Florist for a couple of years now, and I know there are many good florists in the area to choose from because Ive used them. I believe art is good for all of us, and you find that in this florists creations; she has a special talent and eye for it. If you want those who receive flowers from you to be wowed, this is your place. My sister wrote me a thank you note for the flowers I gave for her 60th birthday and in it she commented "those were the most beautiful flowers I have ever received"...many others in my family have said similar things. In fact, I hear so many compliments on these floral arrangements that I look forward to bringing some at the next opportunity. Thank you Cypress Florist.
