Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to give the new place a try. A Prime Rib sadwich, a General Tsos pork sandwich and brussels sprouts on the side. First the Prime Rib: The meat was perfectly cooked, but a little under-seasoned. Served on a roll and not much else. Appreciate letting the rib speak for itself, but for $18 I was hoping for some creativity. Even a little horseradish mayo would have kicked it up a notch. The pork sandwich was solid. Dressed nicely, and again the meat was the star here, but as a sandwich it had some of the touches I was hoping for with the Prime Rib. Finally, the brussels sprouts were average. Thoughtful touch of mint, but the actual sprouts could have used some caramelization. They were tender but on the side of being a little too "wet". And on a side note, the restroom is ONLY available when the restaurant is open. So you have to walk across the street and into the other wing of Platform if you want to wash your hands (or, um, use the restroom).

My first visit to The Cannibal in Culver Citys Platform complex was during the January 17 DineLA event. I went with no expectations since some reviews across the internet and print have been mixed. I was pleasantly surprised by the meal I had there - charcuterie, pork chop, steak, sides and a dessert (the Pavlova certainly rivals all LA restaurants in the gastropub genre and mid price range in terms of dessert). ) My friend had a bottle beer (I think it was an IPA), while I had a cider. Overall value was good. If any aspect needs attention imo, I would have to say the entrance area is a bit cramped and awkward-- too hipsterish in not having clear signage, etc.; hopefully theyll have a host/hostess stand right outside near the front door during the warmer months and/or when they get so popular they have crowds. I look forward to revisiting and perhaps upgrade my rating after that.

Small, but dense menu of clever charcuterie, killer vegetable dishes, and solid meat dishes. I break it up thusly because its small plates, so expect to be mixing and matching. Also expect to have one sausage be gigantic and another more modest, so it goes in life. The merguez was excellent, as were all the vegetables, but some of the other dishes felt a bit thin. Beer list is intense, but the wine list is minimal, so be prepared. Also, somebody was playing with the lights the entire time we were there, so its not you, its the GM and the somme arguing about the lighting or something. Who knows? Parking is available in the lot for the building. Its entirely automated, and it cost $1, so not so bad.

Hoping this place gets better over time. Really enjoyed my experience and the food in NY, but the food started out great and ultimately fell short this time around. Atmosphere and staff were A+. We tried: 3 Cheeses and Nduja (all fantastic). Beets (fantastic) Tiger Dogs 2.0 - very strong mustard flavors, good on the meat, WAY too much bread, which was really dry and grainy (seemed old) The Burger - take great beef flavor, nothing else really going on, even with the caramelized onions it was just kind of meat and fat -- it didnt all come together Pavlova - too sweet, the merengue was dry and grainy, overall hardly mediocre I dont mind the price, but the quality didnt match.

Well we went back today and it was good. What was great is that there was a wonderfully attentive waitress. She was awesome. She was not there the last time we came.It was quiet again at 9:00 am only a few people. The eggs over easy were great, pancakes not bad, the country potatoes were better the last time we were there. But overall a very pleasant experience for my boys and I.A great neighborhood diner experience. Now we are going to have to come back for a burger or two and some onion rings!

The meat and drink selection is excellent. The New York Strip we ordered was cooked and cut perfectly, the cheese plate we ordered was very generous and there was more than enough for my S.O. and I. The cocktails were very tasty, and the wine served to us was well aerated and fruity. The only gripe I have about the place is that the waiter forget to include our onion rings on our order and the place is a bit noisy. Otherwise, the experience is great!

Really great place. Very very good food and the price for what you get is very reasonable. Really great meat, one of the best and imo better than Maple Block. Had the breakfast sandwich (forgot what it was called exactly). And steak and eggs. One of the best steak and eggs I have had in a while and very good quality meat. Even the scramble egg and sauce was very well done. For 16 dollars, very reasonable.

The service was ok but the bad part was the food: we waited forever for a simple filet mignon and the burger. The food was hopelessly overpriced - I dont exaggerate when I say that I prefer a McDonalds Quarter Pounder over their soggy burger. The meat quality of the steak also didnt justify the price tag. We wouldnt go back.

Came for lunch. Both Meatball and Italian sandwiches were delicious. Great staff, fast service. Nice outdoor seating and convenient parking structure around the corner. My only minor gripe was with the $3 8 oz. Diet Coke. Especially when you can get a $12 oz. Mexican Coke for $2 anywhere in LA.

Lovely outdoor seating on the patio. Great vibes, limited selection of food/beer options for the happy hour menu but overall a great "new Culver City" experience. Located in the Platform, the latest hipster joint in LA since the new metro stop has been built.

Food was fantastic. Pretty good options for a vegetarian like me. Just beware of letting the server order for you table; you might end up with a much bigger bill than you expect. Beer and wine selection were top notch.

Please note that the butcher shop has alternate opening times (Tue-Sun, 11am-6pm). Fantastic little restaurant along Washington Blvd. Great beer selection, small but tasty plates, and satisfactory service.

I had the fried chicken sandwich which was awesome, and the beers on tap are rccrllent. I just thought it was just a bit too expensive.. felt it warranted either a bigger menu or more diverse options

I had a draft old fashion. It kicked my butt, and it was delicious. I also had the beef tartare as a late night snack. It was PERFECT!

Amazing food (especially liked the pretzel and the double down sandwich) and a kick ass margarita to cure all hangovers.

Excellent food and drink. This place can be a little pricy but that might have been because of the group I was with.

Good food and great happy hour but the beer selection is crap. They need more Mexican/Japanese style largers.
