Bought cold whole chicken from UNREFRIGERATED deli case on produce floor. Took home . Opened. SLIMEY CHICKEN. Beware. Returned it. Full refund. Needed tomatoes for my sandwiches. Bought 6 mostly ripe LOOKING Romas. But mostly did not TASTE like a ripe tomato. bla! So LOOKS, over TASTE? I want taste over looks on fruits and veggies. And parking spaces are far not wide enough , need door "islands". Way too many door dings !! BUT THERE IS ROOF TOP PARKING TO RECENT REMODEL. Sadly Safeway no longer carries liverwurst. (Sept 2017) Cant wait for new, "much cheaper" Amazon-Whole Foods!

Best place to get packaged grocery, very competitive pricing especially if you have a Safeway card. This one is about 4 years old but they have kept it clean and well maintained. Main parking lot can get crazy but the additional parking upstairs is helpful. Pleasant shopping experience overall. A good neighborhood chain store for everyday items. Fruits, produce, meats maybe better quality at Mollie Stones.

Compton Fields
Both safeways in Burlingame deliver sub par customer service. They claim to open more registers when lines have more than 2 people but without fail there are only ever 2 registers open and 10+ people in line. The card readers are terrible and take forever and need to be replaced. Coming from the south with Publix, I am blown away at how awful grocery stores are here.

hope you have a lot of spare time on your hands, usually only two maybe three checkers, lines are forever. I guess they finally admitted how poor is there customer service by taking down the signs that read" we will open another checker if more than three in line". Hell, I have been there,(just yesterday) where there were 7 in line and more than that in self checkout

I used to go to this safeway all the time, until the employees there were uneccesarily rude. I went in with an out of state ID (because I had just moved here) and the employees made a big spectacle about how my ID was fake and embarrassed me in front of the whole store. I guess this store doesnt care about common courtesy, or checking their facts.

This is definitely the best Safeway I have been too. Its very clean and organized and the fact that its 24/7 is a major plus! The produce section is always neat and smells like fresh fruits. The staff here are very helpful and most of the cashiers are fast. The meat / fish section is mostly very fresh and priced well.

10:30pm Saturday night and there is a long line at least a dozen deep because there is only one cash register opened. 30 minutes later there is still that 1 register only and the line is still long. Luckily when I got on line the manager opened a second register.

Best option for groceries when you have to consider the other store choices. Parking downstairs is tight, but plenty of parking upstairs on level 2. The store is clean and stocked to the gills and the store has a Starbucks counter and large deli.

Best Bakery department and best bakery staff! We love everything they make here. Cakes, breads, cookies, donuts, holiday specials, everything is done with perfection and tastes delicious and fresh. Store is very clean and well organized.

Theres only 2 grocery stores in Burlingame. Both are Safeways and both deliver C+ efforts. Prepare to: -wait forever, for anything -select from a small and basic offering anywhere in the store -laugh at their organic produce section

So glad they renovated this store. It is gorgeous now and the quality and availability of organic and natural produce, meat and floral options rivals Molly Stones next door, all at Safeway prices! Cant beat that.

Open 24 hours, large produce selection, and a huge on-site bakery. Walking through the amazing selection of freshly-made cakes, pies, and pastries, then not buying any, is an exercise in total self-control.

Sick of all the crap grocery stores here. Hopefully this starts the beginning of better quality ones. Most other Safeways in the area are horrible. Bring on luxury high-end grocery stores!

Clean, stocked and well mannered courtesy clerks. This is a nice store, though it can be a bit crazy during peak hours. Sometimes theres homeless people hanging around if you go later.
