Used to frequent Landis, but have an issue with the return policy/customer service. Received a tri wetsuit from Landis as a gift, was a decent fit in torso but sleeves and legs a bit long. Went to Landis to exchange, did not have another suit that was a better fit, so elected to see if could have the sleeves shortened by whoever Landis or the manufacturer recommended. Long story short, the rep at Landis stated he would look up the recommended wetsuit alteration place. Did not hear back from them for a couple of weeks, and after some consideration I decided to return the suit and order a different fit alltogether rather than modify a brand new suit. Unfortunately, Landis refused to accept an exchange because the 30 days since purchase had now passed. I tried explaining that I had been waiting for them to get back to me regarding a tailor, but was told it still was 30 days return, period. I explained that the tags were still on it, never worn, but was told by the manager that I may have urinated in the suit while wearing it (seriously), no returns. Ended up selling the suit on Ebay for about 1/2 what it had cost new. Three years and two bikes later, spend an average of $1500-$2000 a year on bike and tri supplies, unfortunately Landis sees none of it. Granted, there are worse stores in the world, but it would have been an easy return for Landis. Recommend trying Tribe, Tri-Sports, Triple Sports, Performance, or REI. Bought the next wetsuit through Tribe, asked about the return deal after the experience at Landis, was told I could swim in raw sewage and still return it if unsatisfied. Now that is customer service.

I had a great experience at Landis Cyclery. My five-year old nephew had what appeared to me to be two flat tires (I am a strictly recreational cycler). I called and Chelsea suggested the problem might be blown bike tubes. She told me to come on in to confirm that that was the issue, and also gave me a cost estimate of parts and labor. I manhandled the bike into the front seat of my VW Bug and brought it in. Chelseas guess was correct - it was the tubes. She told me that if I wanted them to take care of it the bike would be ready in an hour or two. Meanwhile, my two-year old niece accidentally knocked over a very cool retro $400 bike the moment I took my eyes off of her. Chelsea and the other Landis team members were much more concerned that she wasnt hurt in any way than they were about the fallen bike, which pleasantly surprise me. :) Luckily no damage was done to either. The bike was done earlier than predicted and cost me $36 for everything. A staff member even carried the bike out for me to better allow me to more effectively manage my two nieces walk back to the car. All in all, an excellent overall value in my eyes. My nephews face when he came home from school to find his bike fixed and ready to ride? Priceless! Thanks Landis and Chelsea!

While biking along Shea Blvd a few weeks back my front tire blew, as in Kapow! My tire had a hole in it so large that I couldve put a pencil through it. So the nearest bike shop couldnt help me as my bike is a custom size and they didnt have a tire that would fit. They had a tube but no tire. The next bike shop was the same.. Then I went to Landis Cyclery! Chelsey came to my rescue. Not only did she offer me several different tires from the many they had in stock, she expertly mounted it for me With some Extra Slime! One of her colleagues, Ed, was also a great help in giving me info to allow me to make the best choice for my type of bike. All of the people who work there seem to me to be rather young, 20s or so, much fun and extremely knowledgeable concerning all things in the bicycle realm. Except for the person who I assume to be the Mgr. 40-50ish. fellow who just stood back and allowed his team to create their special type of magic! I actually ended up pushing my bike around several extra stops, and miles, trying to find help. Im glad that I did. Great service. In no time at all I was back on my way. Thank You Folks At Landis!

Sorry to hear a couple of folks felt they were being spoken down to at Landis Scottsdale. Must have been an exception because we have nothing but good things to say about this bike shop and the people who work there. Perry in particular was very patient and helpful. Hubby & I were getting back into cycling after many years off, and were unfamiliar with clip-in pedals. He installed our pedals, installed the cleats into our shoes, and then showed us how to clip in/clip out right there in the shop. He positioned the cleats perfectly for the shoes/pedals and we were really happy with the results. May have helped that we bought two new bikes, shoes, pedals, and some other accessories, but I get the feeling theyre helpful to customers no matter what theyre buying. Id recommend this particular store to anyone involved in cycling, whether youre a veteran or just starting out, they seem to be helpful at all levels. The shop always seems busy when were in there but weve never had an issue with having to wait a long time to be helped.

Bought a $1600 Trek bike for our son there and paid to have them assemble and "prep" the bike. The problem is when the employees mount the bikes on those stupid racks to balance everything, or when they start to show off their $8.00 an hour job skills. The bike was dropped off the rack chipping the paint and damaging the frame partially. As if that wasnt enough, one of the other employees stole some device that was mounted to the handlebars right in front of me! When I confronted him he said it didnt come with the bike. Then why was it on the handlebars in a sealed box with the rest of the bike as pictured the way I bought it for $1600? Buy elsewhere. Overpriced stock and employees are talentless thugs that some could even possibly be on work release from prison?

Landis Cyclery is a good brand but the Scottsdale location is overpriced and offers terrible service, I cannot emphasize enough how terribly i was treated even after spending almost three thousand dollars at that store. The staff made no effort to help me, did not even care to fit my new bike, and refused to assemble a car rack. If you must go to a Landis store i would suggest trying the central Phoenix location as the people there are much friendlier and knowledgeable.

I dont ever rate anything but today I felt the need. Was just there, started off being told it would take a while to fix my bike. Another worker came in from helping someone outside and told me that he could help the first guy and get me on my way while I wait. The experience was so nice I bought I few more items than I originally planned to buy. Thxs for the helpful attitude. It wont go unnoticed today. Will be back

Took my bike in for small unknown issue. Both Michael and Travis took the time to listen to me and check out my bike. Michael took it go a test ride and Travis removed the rear cogs to inspect and add some grease. In the end nothing wrong. These guys helped me for 20 minutes at no charge. You could not ask for better service. Would not repair a bike anywhere else in town. Fast honest service.
