I think Mike must have been in the wrong store? What did you eat that was so wrong and made you sick Probably someone from another store... Anyways, Open Sesame has great food! So does their restaurant Ali Babas which is right next door. Every time I go there (which is about one a week if not more) I receive the best customer service ever and the freshest food! I love their zabihah halal meat market, they have fresh chicken, goat, lamb, and beef. Their grocery store is packed with the essentials that everyone from almost every country would need plus a few extras as well. Im waiting on the bakery to start up next door..cant wait for the fresh bread and sweets to come. You will not be disappointed if you go here, especially when you get a warm greeting from the family that runs the place!

I have never purchased grocery here because, I think they are generally overpriced, and many of the items do not look fresh. I used to purchase goat meat from here. The people who work in meat area are nice to customers. They cut meat in the size you want. But I had very horrible experience yesterday. The lady who is there at check out counter thinks that she is smarter than every person on the Earth. She behaved with me as if I was not her customer, and asking her to give me for free. I do not think she has any respect for her customer or at least that is how she behaved with me yesterday. I will never return to this place again.

The guy who sells meat and probably is a store owner is a jackass. He sells meat according to the customer. I asked him the price on the board is different than the one sticker attached to the meat. His justification was that its due to the weather the prices of goat meat has gone up. I was so pissed that I wanted to call the federal office. They are robbing people than doing a business. This store deserves to be closed period.

I really dont recommend this Arabic place to any one even if a person didnt eat in a week , the quality of food is the worst you can get and it will make you sick ,so if you care about your Heath please stay away from this Arabic restaurant , i visited this place today 09/27/2011 as a courtesy I felt that I have to let every body knows about this .

I have been buying meat for few years from here. The guy is nice to customers so I never bothered to check the meat quantity after buying. Last time I noticed 1/2 lbs missing when I measured at home and today 3/4 lbs missing. I feel like stupid for trusting these guys all this time. Make sure to measure the weight again after he cuts the meat.

Real friendly staff. The butcher took the extra steps to make sure I was pleased with the service such as placing ice packs with the meat when he found out I had a half hour drive. Also the meat was clean, well packed and reasonably priced. Overall the service and meat were far better then the other halal meat shops I have been to in phx

Great eclectic mix of Middle Eastern groceries. It is the only place in town Ive been able to buy fresh veal and lamb occasionally the owners are very nice and accommodating

Now there is a new owner and the Chicken Quality looks good now. I am happy that previous owners left. I hope the new management will continue to give good meat.
