The store has a great layout and is very nice inside. I decided to pop in because I had a gift card and Ive been sick of the poor service at the nearby grocers (Frys and Albertsons). I shopped around for about an hour to buy food for the week. I get to the checkout area and only two lanes are open and the line is pretty long. After about 15 mins its my turn and their system just stopped working completely. I understand that sometimes stuff happens and its not under anyones control, but I still feel robbed of my time and money spend driving out of my way to this store to check it out. I left without any groceries. The store manager called me back the next day to apologize and set things right with me. Unfortunately, the checkout still had some issues, but it was still a pleasant experience. I will be shopping here from here on.

Nice, clean store and convenient to Anthem residents (2 Stars). However, Safeway employees have MUCH to learn about courtesy and customer service (0 Stars). The employees at this particular store need to show better appreciation for the jobs, and they need to make more effort to be friendly toward the customers that keep this store in business. Beyond the unfriendly staff, the price of food at this store (and all Safeway stores for that fact) is out of touch with reality. Just stick to the advertised specials and you can leave the store with most of your wallet.

Review for the December 2016 reopened store: Its really great to have Safeway back, theyve always had better deal items than Frys down the street, and their freshly prepared deli items have always been much better. The new store has nearly new everything, from the paint on the walls to the behind the scenes appliances used by the departments. Still my favorite grocery store within Anthem, despite the ups and downs in the past.

This location is always a ghost town. When I do go here to get a few items, there is no self check, so I can choose between a express lane with 10 people in it, or a regular lane with 5 people in it. I really want to like this store and shop here, but it takes too long to check out and things are generally more expensive than Frys down the street.

I find this store hard to navigate. for some reason they like to put non food items in the middle of the store so you have to walk past then to get between the two food items areas. Im a bit of a fitness nut and dont mind the extra steps but when Im in a hurry this is far from convenient. I prefer to go to frys a little further down the road.

Safeway Anthem is great, its always easy to get in and out, all the times I go, its never too crowded. the pharmacist there remembers my name even when I call on the phone, and I really like that hes so personable. the store is always clean and well stocked, you should have no problem finding what you are looking for.

This Safeway is a great little neighborhood store. It has a minimal selection of items beyond basics. The Lucerne and Private Selection brands are exceptional quality for being a store brand. Its a bright and open shopping floorplan and easy to navigate. Parking here is never a problem.

Skye Ranch

Clean, mostly pretty good employees (except for a few who seem resentful they have to work at all) but the prices are sky high. SKY HIGH!! The store keeps the check out lines not too long but for the prices they charge there should be no lines. Really, the prices are ridiculous.

The two Pharmacists are wonderful, store is clean, nice wide aisles. I love that they have speciality items that the other stores dont carry. A pleasure to shop here!
