Eclipse is one of the greatest places in Montevallo. Not only do they have delicious food, but they also serve a great assortment of drinks and even have books you can purchase and porch cats you can pet. The atmosphere is always friendly and inviting, and theres usually at least one event per week here. They invite local bands to play, there are poetry nights, free wine tastings, trivia nights, etc. If youre looking for somewhere to eat and possibly get entertained at the same time (check out their facebook page for event information and hilarious soup-of-the-day announcements), Eclipse is the place to go.

Eclipse is everything a coffee shop should be. It has a chill "come as you are" atmosphere, delicious food and coffee, free events and awesome live bands, a growing craft beer selection... You will find banjo picking and impromptu bluegrass sessions on the front porch. Awesome hipster staff! It is eclectic, bohemian, Southern... all the things the University of Montevallo is known for. If you are looking for Starbucks.. seek elsewhere.. This place has genuine Alabama personality. Definitely worth a visit on a Saturday night!

Great vegetarian options, solid beer selection, delicious coffees and baked goods, outstanding staff, nice book selection, and great meet-the-author events. This is my retreat from Bham, here I can relax, flip through a book while sipping a fair-trade espresso or a very reasonably priced craft beer. The only thing that hurts is that I constantly forget that they are closed on Sundays, the day I am most likely to escape the City.

The place is very nasty they have pet cats everywhere even inside. Im sorry but a place that service food and coffee is not and should not have animals that is not sanitary. And the college kids that work there are not clean either. I would never eat here I wouldnt even step foot in here just to go to the bathroom. This place should be shut down they need the health inspector to come by and maybe they will get shut down.

This is perhaps the coolest place in Shelby County. The food - made with locally sourced and organic ingredients as available - is delicious. The atmosphere is very laid back and one can always find good conversation or a nice place to eat or read in peace. Such an interesting vibe and filled with good people, I highly recommend this place.

The number one place to eat, study, and party in Montevallo. Buy food, books, and beers here- its always a good time. Great vegetarian options, healthy meals, variety of desserts, and a fantastic atmosphere. Hosts open mic nights and live performances from local and traveling artists. Its the place to be.

I am sure what little I have to write is covered already, but I still wanted to say something kind. Loved the atmosphere at this place. Great for a hangout, for study, for a meeting. Plenty of books to pass the time too! The coffee was also fantastic, just wish there was one in Alabaster.

Quaint little cafe with a library/bookstore. Came in for breakfast and had a delicious meal. Would love to come back again to hear a local musician play. Counter staff were very friendly and helpful.

Free Trade Coffee and fresh made hummus are the best! This locally owned business is a great place to have breakfast or enjoy happy hours (3-7 thursday and friday) on the porch.
