ALDI is the greatest thing. However, since their prices are so low, the store is a defacto Bravo supermarket that attracts mostly lower income immigrants. Despite that fact, the Fairfax ALDI is clean and well organized and modern. They have a pretty decent selection of products and, even though they are not a major brand, the quality is very high. The aisle lanes are extra wide, yet you will still encounter people who believe that they are Gods gift to the world and proceed to, somehow, take up an entire 7 foot lane with a 4 foot cart. You will also encounter the flow of traffic going the wrong way, people gathering in a pool near the fruit section, and languages that you dont know being spoken. This is due to the clientele and not the company. In one trip, I experienced Hindi, Croatian, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, and Korean. Im not giving five stars because there are always at least four or five employees and a manager, but they never seem to have more than two registers open. The line backs up fast at this place. My only other complaint is that there was one kid there who seemed to think it was a good idea to buff the floors during prime time traffic. This was not helpful or well thought out and he did it twice on two different occasions. He should have gotten on a register instead of worrying about the floor you couldnt see. Overall, youre going to save a lot of money, the employees are nice, the floors are buffed, and the store is well maintained and modern.

I have known Aldi stores from my years in Germany and was excited to see one open in Fairfax, where I live. I have been to this store about 3 times and am delighted that you offer gluten-free products. However, I am thoroughly upset with your staff and their rudeness. Your store is the only supermarket in the area where one needs a quarter to release a shopping cart. So it is not surprising that many customers are not used to this practice. It is also not surprising that you have a diverse clientele, a situation that comes with all levels of understanding and speaking English. Every time I have been in your store I have witnessed some customer being confused about the carts, unsure how to retrieve one or trying to grab the one next to the cashier’s, and each time your staff just curtly says something like, “No, you can’t have that”, or “Go and get a cart”. No explanation about the quarter needed to get a cart and getting the quart back once you return the cart. Not even a slowing down of the speech so that someone who is clearly not well versed in English, has a chance of understanding the response. It’s rude, it’s embarrassing and it makes for lousy customer service. All the more surprising since, as far as I have observed, your staff members are members of minority groups themselves and probably know about disrespectful behavior. I hope you will provide adequate training to your staff so that I can come back and shop without being ashamed.

I really enjoy shopping at Aldi. My wife and I come here almost once a week. 6 months ago, we never shopped here before. Now we cant stop ourselves. One of the cool things about aldi is the shopping experience and how it all helps you save money. You wont see a lot of employees running around. You pay for any bags you want to use. Employees dont bag anything for you. Shopping carts require a quarter temporarily so that they ensure you bring the cart back and keep the parking lot clear. And the groceries are top notch while priced really well. If you didnt know, aldi is following the German grocery chains cost saving practices that it uses in Europe. The selection of produce, gluten free products, and everything else is really good. We can do most of our shopping here. We still enjoy going to Costco for bulk items, super hmart for Asian items. One warning: they only take cash or debit. No credit cards. Not a bad thing since its another way to save us money.

I freaking love this store! It saves my wife and I hundreds of dollars. Milk is currently selling for $1.59 per gallon! You cant find those prices anywhere, not even WallyMart. For the naysayers, the way Aldi makes their prices so cheap is by having less staff which means slightly longer lines and no cart attendants (this is why you have to bring a quarter for the cart...that way it gets put back in the proper place). If that means saving me money, I am all about it!!! You pay premium for excellent customer service like at Trader Joes (Sister company). If you have better things to spend your money on than $3.50 milk, then shop here. PS. The food is excellent if you were wondering :)

The prices cannot be conquered with the other supermarkets in the US. It is very cozy but large enough to make suitable meals that taste great. You can also find not only the organic food but also the imported food and products from Germany with very reasonable price. The only thing that I have a problem every time is some part of the aisle are messy, and I could not find the product what exactly I wanted. They do not categorize the aisles with dividers. If I wanted to find the rice, I was supposed to walk all the aisles to figure out where it could be stored. All in all, I love ALDI!

Great prices, considerable discounts for generic and store brands. I usually spend $12-20 for a week worth of lunches. Good produce options. I like the store brands provided here. Some items come and go. This store was recently renovated and its great; beautiful lit photo signs hanging from the ceilings above areas where go-to items are found (deli, dairy, etc.). The fridge sections were also reorganized and relabled. Produce and frozen are in new locations. Overall, its a good store for half the price of standard chain grocery stores.

I like aldi buy I shop in the fairfax location every week, but every time I go there , something missing, when is not cream cheese is the produce, they cant seem to be able to keep their store stock properly,I have to make 2 trips one to the aldi and the other one to my local supermarket, thats not efficient.I do love the variety they use to have, for the last 2 month I have not seen anything new, dissapointed Im really considering giving up on it,I might as well go to wallmart or just Costco. One trip.

Its not going to have the fancy name-brands. But if you make it to Aldi, you usually already know that. Its an excellent solution to the problem of spiraling grocery costs. If you split your grocery bill between a few stores, then always go to Aldis for the essentials. They will be half the price of other stores and just as fresh. You might also find some great deals on name brand stuff. Their meat and dairy products are top notch and usually why we end up going there.

This is a great European (German owned) mini supermarket with prices rivaling Costco and Walmart and for some items even lowest our there. There is always parking and location is central in Fairfax. Good selection of German chocolate, meats, wines, cheeses, etc. One interesting thing is that to use cart you need to insert $0.25 to get it released (sort of like airport carts). I always bring my own bags so no need for cart.
