Quilters are usually a welcoming breed, however my several experiences with this particular shop have prompted me to write this review in hopes that it will either a) inspire much needed change or b) prevent others from losing much more than time and energy from stopping at this store. I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt, we can all have a bad day. However, I have come to understand that customer service is not only nonexistent in this establishment, but the consumer is met with unprofessionalism and incompetence, which in the end cost me approx. 80.00 USD in equipment that cannot be exchanged or returned. Yes, the store policies are firmly affixed to the counter top, however the particular piece of equipment was given to me for purchase following an employee looking up the model number and informing me that this was what I needed for my machine. Again, we all make mistakes, but a manager who cares about their consumer base should be willing to stand behind their employees and do the right thing in regard to their customers. Every time I have entered the store, employees have begrudgingly assisted me only after I have sought help. Having a wonderful selection of fabrics and machines is not enough to inspire me to be treated so poorly and disrespectfully when San Antonio holds a myriad of other quilt shops where I will be more than happy to spend my resources! Shame on you Creative Sewing Center!

The authorized sewing machine repair warranty. There is a fee to have your machine checked out. Once it was checked, They kept the money. The shop says that the needle that I replaced a broken one with was a basting needle (It came with supplies in the new machine kit..as a matter of fact they were the only needles supplied for free). Why would a company supply basting needles with a new machine unless it is a scam to give perks to the authorized dealer in order to keep them on hand at no charge to the Brothers company. what a waste...First the repair person says " Ive never seen anything like it . Its too short to make contact with the bobbin thread. (the needle). then he calls back and says "my coworker and I have identified it as a basting needle)) then once I get the machine and ask for the needle he says "oh, I taped it in a bag to the machine" like I always do." is that some crap or what? Creative Sewing Center, 11777 West Avenue, San Antonio TX. and Brothers should be convicted of Fraud. Im replacing all 3 machines I purchased for my daughters and myself with singers!

Just when you thought the service couldnt get worse than when this store was privately owned... Ive officially made my last visit to this store. The greetings and offers of assistance are robotic when they exist. I made my selection and took it to the register where the cashier had stepped away to stock. I understand this, however a cotton ball stuffed in one ear and an ear bud in the other is not okay. I waited at the cash wrap for over a minute. When she did come to the register she asked me how much my items cost. I didnt know, there was no sign. She called the office to ask, got the answer, then the person on the phone proceeded to ask her a scheduling question and they carried on a conversation as if I werent waiting to leave. I was so irritated I nearly left without my fabric. I believe in spending locally and supporting small business but Id rather not buy fabric than spend any more money at this store.

I am not sure if the new owners expect its employees to be honest, but three years ago this was not the case. I took my very first sewing machine in for repairs. The repairman either was desperate to make a sell or did not have the right kind of experience he was supposed to have. He told that the part was too expensive to replace and I should buy a new sewing machine from Creative Sewing. I believed the repairman until I took my machine to another company here in San Antonio three years later. My machine ONLY needed to be serviced and it runs perfectly. My advice to the new owners is hire and train employees to have better customer service and to not lie to their customers to make a simple buck!

I love this store! The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the machines. But what makes Creative Sewing stand out is the service after the sale. They offer free classes and expert advice on accessories and how to use them. I am looking to purchase a serger and I will definitely go there first. Plus the fabric selection is incredible.

I always find what I need here for my sewing projects. A very good selection of cotton fabrics and well stocked thread. Staff seems to be very good at keeping the store organized, which I appreciate. Some other stores let loose fabric bolts pile up during the day.

Before this store was opened in San Antonio, I visited their other stores. I have found good service in all locations. This is a family owned business that gives back to the community.

Excellent machine services!!! Very nice staff, great selection of machines, notions, bits, bobs, & supplies. Docked the one star due to fabric limitations to focus mainly on quilting.

This is by far the best equipped sewing store I have seen for a while. It is getting more and more rare to find one store that has it all. I enjoy coming here every time, :)

The very best selection of fabric. I always find what I am looking for. With that said, the fabric can be pricy but you get what you pay for quality!
