I want to call out Affordabike here. My buddies and I had planed to do a 60 mile ride around Lake Moultrie. We have been looking forward to this ride all week and it was going to be Dannys first trip around the lake. We got all our gear set out the night before, cleaned our kits, and froze the water bottles. Sunday morning came and it was time to hit the trail! We were up at 7 AM excited to spend a day gravel grinding, when disaster stuck. On inspection of the bikes as we were loading them up, Danny had a bad link. There was no way we could take on a 60 mile trek with a known bad chain. We were frantic. We called our other buddies to tell them about the possible problem and delay. They understood and just said let them know. We started calling everywhere. Walmart, Dicks, Kmart, if we could think of it call. But it was Sunday morning and there was no help. As we stood in the kitchen as a last ditch effort before we called the trip, I posted to this group looking for any help I could find. Daniel from Affordabike sent me a message with in 10 mins saying that if we could meet him at the shop then he would take time and had a chain for us. Danny and I were ecstatic. This would save the whole trip! So 9 AM we loaded up and rushed to Affordabike to pick up the chain. Its worth pointing out that the Amazon, big box store, or major retailer didnt save us. When it came down to the wire, a local bike shop that cares about the local riders went the extra mile, so that we could go 60!

I started a bike rebuild in PA with my friend but halfway through the project moved down to SC. Without his mechanic expertise, I needed some help with reassembling my bike after Id finished repainting it and purchasing new parts. I brought my bike down to Charleston from Myrtle Beach so that the guys at Affordabike could help me with the reassemble. The trip was worth it. Matt was very helpful in answering my questions through email and I knew my bike would be in good hands. He was able to finish working on it in a few hours before I headed back up to MB. Id purchased the wrong size brakes for my frame and came back down a few weeks later with the right ones. Matt had these on in no time. The store itself is also worth checking out. They have some top of the line products and an awesome custom line of cruiser bikes. The bike shop I originally visited in MB felt like a car dealership but the Affordabike employees were nothing but friendly and helpful. I would recommend this shop to anyone needing mechanic help or looking for a new bike. Thanks again for your help Matt, I couldnt be happier with my recycled bike!

I did not have a good experience at Affordabike. I realize I made a mistake by making an impulse buy on a SUV bike rack. After purchase, I noticed that they were $100 less expensive online for the exact same model Affordabike sells in its store and immediately returned the hitch rack within 48 hours of purchase. Upon returning they were unwilling to refund any payment and would only offer a store credit. I realize this may work for their business and I am willing to admit fault in impulse buying. However, I am extremely dissatisfied with only receiving a store credit on an overpriced, never used bike rack. I have no desire to use this company again and I have a gift card for $314.64 that I would be willing to pass along to anyone that may be interested. Just because I had a bad experience does not mean someone else will. If interested please contact me.

The folks at Affordabike were so great! I was visiting Charleston my plan was to see the city by bike. The problem was, I forgot my helmet. I walked into Affordabike looking to rent, or even buy a helmet (safety first, right?), and they just lent me one, free of charge! It made my weekend. Although I wasnt shopping for bikes at the time, as a short female cyclist I always have my eye out for small and extra small framed bikes. Most shops I frequent dont have much of a selection when it comes to tiny frames, but Affordabike had several, and reasonably priced, too. If I lived in Charleston this would definitely be my bike shop.

I couldnt imagine a better place to purchase a bike! As soon as you walk into the door you are greeted by friendly workers who take their time assisting you in all your needs, questions, and concerns. There are tons of options to choose from and super affordable. This place has the same if not better quality of bikes in comparison with other bike shops in Charleston, but they sell at a lower price. I had a friend recommend this bike shop since the service that they received was so awesome. Anytime there was a tune-up or repair needed my friend was given proper care and fair repair quotes.

This is the most gangster bike ever. Other bicycle shops have super expensive beach cruisers that are not customizable at all. I got exactly what I wanted through affordabike and now I dont have to drive all over downtown to run simple errands. I got the murder-package so mine is all black and let me tell you, the ladies are dying to get on my handlebars after a solid night out. I had to make an adjustment to my seat and the guys were super helpful. I couldnt be happier and 2 of my friends have since gotten affordabikes and love them too. Cant go wrong with these bad boys

Two painful experiences: First I came in with my 1975 Schwinn to ask about a gear problem. Tech said I needed a new bike because the Schwinn was toast. Turns out the internal hub just needed lube! Apparently the tech is just a salesman... Second, I came in to change a flat tube. Went flat again instantly because the tech didnt clear a sharp piece from the tire. Went back and Afordabike wanted to charge full price for the second flat, even after acknowledging their mistake the first time... Never going back!

Great Bike Rental. A beach cruiser is affordable and fun. I was visiting Charleston for 5 days and found that seeing the city by bike is perhaps the best way to go. There are lots of historic buildings and communities but too much walking makes me grumpy. Rolling around on the flat streets of Charleston was easy and with the college of Charleston in the neighborhood, you will be one of many cyclists. Almost all the hotels are within 20 minutes of any part of the center city and most are a lot closer.

Got the groupon since Ive been needing a new bike. I dont really know much about bikes but have been considering going on some trails as well as going around Charleston. Had someone helping me as soon as I came in. The guy knew what he was talking about and after explaining what I wanted and my price range he showed me the bikes they had and explained the different benefits of them. They also let me take them out and ride them around Charleston to see how I liked it. Overall a great experience.

The folks at Affordabike are knowledgeable, helpful and patient. Ive been shopping here for several years and they consistently provide value for money and most importantly; long term support. Go there, dont give it a second thought. Ive since moved to NYC and still do business with them and can attest to their speedy, accurate service even out of state. Keep it up Affordabike!
