This is a great store to walk and look around. . I mean they have what seems like everything. . The kid in me just stares at the model airplanes, trains, rockets and such. . I am the owner of a traxx 1/10 scale rc, I bought it cause a friend of mine owns one and he has a race track in his back yard. . Anyways going there and asking questions from a completely newb stand point seems pointless. . Was 3 guys behind the counter talking and I asked 1 of them about the traxx and if they new about brushless motors , again I dont know, just what I know from my friend. . Anyways I ask him and he seemed to just kinda talk down to me ( You dont KNOW what kind of motor your friend has!?!?) ( You dont KNOW you need a special this when yiu are gonna put lipo batteries in!?!). . Anyways a customer who was also standing by talking to these guys stepped aside and picked up where this guys should have, this customer answered all my questions and was so helpful. . But I left the store instead of purchasing my traxx truck there I bought it off Amazon. . I think its important that the owner know, that people are gonna come in who have true enthusiasm about this great fun hobby and to deal with people who seem like they not only do not share your enthusiasm but disdain at you for asking such newb questions, is not the nest way to have repeat customers. Not that Hub Hobby is going anywhere I know, but still guys. . Leaving the store I almost was just like I didint even want to buy the RC truck at all but thanks for the guy who was standing around who was not a employee but shared my excitement for what I was getting into. . I think alot more could be done to make people feel included and like hey were all in this together type of attitude let me help you learn. Ive been buying model airplanes from hub when I was 10 years old with my dad, Im 37 now with 2 sons of my own almost 3 and 1 years old, and I want to explore and learn these hobbies with my kids but I may start to think about where I make my purchases from here on out.

Ive only been to Hub Hobby Center once while looking for parts for my R/C Helicopters and airplanes. They had all the parts I needed in stock. Prices are pretty much full retail and it is not a discount center, but that is to be expected. If I want cheap and know exactly what I want I find it on the Internet. But if I need something quickly or if Im needing to have hands-on to decide then a local hobby shop is the place to go and I do like to support them. Hub is like a 3 pound sausage in a 1 pound casing. Cluttered, full to the ceiling and narrow isles, so they certainly could benefit from a larger store, but that is just because they stock so very much and in a fairly small building. The service seems like it varies from section to section. In the railroad area where I was looking at plastic pieces the attendant was chatting with a couple and when I walked by he broke from them and said, "Can I help you find something?" In the R/C area the guy behind the counter just sat there staring into space and didnt even acknowledge even when I was standing right at the counter in front of him. I finally asked a question and he just pointed to an area. So my take is that the management has not standards of conduct for their employees. Id definitely go back as they seem to stock many of the parts that I use and they do seem to have more of them than any other Twin Cities hobby store that Ive been in. (4 others) Hobby Warehouse in Minneapolis seemed to have about the same stuff but my experience with attendants there was even worse.

for the owner of hub Hobbie I am a rc racer Im into model rail road I do slot cars I have 2 small children that are into the same things I like and I make a good living and want to support my local store I have sat at your counter many times and never helped you have lost a sale on a tc6.2 a tekin gen2 kit and a servo so 1000 dollars just walked out of your store and I assure you this is not the first time because if i walk in there after 7 nobody wants to help me as a buisness operator I can tell you if its happening to me its happening to a lot of people and it will not change unless you make a change you may not care if you dont then its ok if you do then you have to take action especially with how easy it is to get on my smart phone and order everything I need in your parking lot like I just did

Seems like it is overcrowded. When I was younger it seemed like a lot better place to shop but now they expanded and it seems like it is always a mess. The RC selection is adequate, but the prices are high. If I need something inexpensive right away Ill go there but since I get free shipping from Towerhobbies and the prices are much better Ill shop online. I agree with the others, the employees do not acknowledge you and seem like you are bothering them when you ask a question. Ive even driven three times as far to Hobbytown in Oakdale to purchase products rather than deal with Hub. Im a believer in supporting the local hobby shop, but when their service is subpar, I wont shed a tear if they go under.

I have been there a few times. Although it is a bit out of the way for me, it is worth it. They have a wide selection of hobby stuff for people of all ages, and the staff is both friendly and helpful.the interior is jam packed and very cozy. My boyfriend goes there for mini quad copter and supplies for it, and most recently we went there for a hot wire foam cutter. I called ahead and the guy who was back at the model train counter was insanely helpful. I could tell he has a lot of knowledge and he was super friendly as well. He made a lot of helpful suggestions and wasnt just truing to sell me stuff. I will definitely go back again and would recommend this place to anybody. Also they have awesome hours .

Several days ago I visited Hub Hobby in Little Canada looking for my first RC Helicopter. I asked a few general questions and the only response I got was "Dude" and "I cant sell you a Helicopter until you know how to fly." I fully understand the RC helis can be dangerous and are not toys but there are many beginner helis. The clerk offered no help or advise but "Dude, I cant sell you a . . . . . . . I will never step foot into another Hub Hobby again. I went to another local hobby store and the clerk helped me pick out a suitable indoor beginner bird and offered tips and info on the local club. Dont waste your time- go elsewhere.
