In a word, traffic, parking, accessibility. The shops by the road-foodservice primarily--have it the worst for parking...cramped space and flaring tempers, dangerous swoops to snatch parking... Busy with families and middle middle class types most afternoons. There isnt really outdoor space, nowhere for kids to run around associated with the dining and people keep to themselves. The Kroger--formerly a Hillers with lots of unique inventory and a cool vibe--is steadily becoming more ho-hum as the inventory is standardized. It is a union shop if that is important to you. Shopper flow and checkout are very fast there and its a great place to pick up one or two missing ingredients. Produce section is better than the Carpenter rd supermarkets, but nothing special. The office max and toys r us are both fairly underwhelming as outlets of their respective chains. Print shop is well staffed at friendly at officemax. The Starbucks, notwithstanding parking, is a standout. Reserve coffee, open late, clover machine, well trained staff, fast service, very lively and diverse crowd of all colors mixes here. Not so much a macbook farm as a meeting place. Its hard to avoid Arborland if you live here, and its impact on nearby traffic is downright irritating, new civic engineering is in order. But in the meantime, drive--and park safe and welcome to Ann Arbor.

This strip plaza gets good marks in terms of the quality of the shops available. And, for a strip mall, the variety is not bad either. There are useful retailers including Kroger and there are some decent restaurants. But the accessibility and traffic flow are awful. If it werent for the presence of a couple of shops with no other nearby locations, we would never come here. Its a real stress to get here with the traffic on Washtenaw. Its also no treat to get around the plaza and getting out, especially eastbound on Washtenaw, is rather stressful during busy periods. They need to cajole the city to make some traffic flow improvements and it woukd not hurt to make some internal touch-ups as well.

Arbor land mall is easily accessible from Washtenaw Avenue. Getting back out onto Washtenaw Avenue can at times be a bit tricky; but, actually flows quite well when you find the correct traffic light. One exit will only allow you to make a right-hand turn the second exit, which many people find by driving behind the mall, will allow you to turn left or right at the stop light. Wonderful stores in the small, shopping experiences here have always been good.

I love how its right off 23 so its easy to get there and get out. Not only does it have a few good places to eat (noodles and co., five guys, coldstone...) but it has a mix of things you might need. Car acting funny? Firestone is right there. Got a crafting project? Michaels has you covered. Theres also old navy, dress barn, Nordstrom rack, ulta and petco to name a few. Watch out for stupid drivers, they seem to be everywhere in the parking lot.

Honestly - If it were not so hard to get in and out of, I would go to Arborland more often. The new Kroger is just as close to the old Hillers as you could get. The Kosher and Asian supplies are still there. The beer varieties are superior to almost anybody. Remember Spencer Gifts? Five Below is on track with it! Office Max, shoes and cosmetics and even Five Guys and Starbucks. Great collection of shops.

Not a bad place for finding lots of shopping. Its all outdoor access so when people refer to this as a mall dont get confused. I saw a lady who was really upset be she was lied to and was taking it out on a poor security guard. Honestly its a great place to shop. Watch out for pot holes (or they would have gotten 5⭐)

Arborland is home to Kroger, chillis, 5below,Marshalls,cold stone, Michaels ,bed bath and beyond ,pot bellys, office max,/depot,dsw,pet smart,Firestone, marathon, belletire and more. The bus stop is in arborland . arborland has easy access to US23. Ample parking but the entrance and exits are congested most of the time.

Arborland is way nicer today than it was 15 years ago. Theres a decent variety of stores (mostly large box stores) and a few food options, but it can be a pain to get in and out of the complex in a timely way. Everything is pretty spread out and the traffic can get annoying depending on the time of day.

Good place to stop at if you want to go out for a little bit. Has a good selection of stores, and its cool that it has a grocery store in it too. Since its close to my school Im able to stop there and get food instead of spending a ton of money going out to eat on my breaks

Watch the pavement for turning lanes and info as you enter the property. Who ever designed it has cars merging at a bad time. If you are leaving the Kroger, beware as people do not observe the stop signs...I have even had the security vehicle almost hit me.

Ive only been to a shoe store here and a chilis but its easy to get in here from the express way but next to impossible to leave. I generally try to avoid this place. Its also right across the street from the worst hotel known to mankind victory inn and suites.

Michaels, Marshalls, DSW, Bed Bath and Beyond, Staples, Petco,5Below, Starbucks, Noodles and Company, Five Guys, Cold Stone, Krogers and others. Parking can be a bit of a clusterf%$# infront of the food places. Just pakr in the main parking lot.

Some decent stores here. It used to be better and parking/leaving can be awful if its busy so I only gave it 3 stars. I pretty much only go here anymore to eat since there is a pretty good selection of fast casual style food places here.

Fun/functional strip mall that isnt overwhelmingly large but has enough to offer to be worth the traffic and crowded lots. I can grab groceries and sneak over to DSW for some super secret shoe shopping all in one go, without losing time

This place has lots of good shops but driving in the parking lot can be tricky. Sometimes it can be a good idea not to try and get close to the place you are going, you can get stuck trying to turn around in a little parking area!

While the stores and restaurants are great, the arborland center gets the award for worst parking lot and traffic for any commercial facility! Also during winter it is normally slippery due to ice and they dont seem to care.

Has many businesses here including a tire center, gas station, restaurants, and many more. Huge parking area but getting in and out could be tricky since the only access is to / from Washtenaw Ave , one of the busiest roads.

I like it, but as many others have stated previously, getting out of there is bananas. My daughter loves 5 Below and gets T Shirts there almost every week or so, we also like Famous Footwear, Chilis and Colds Stone Creamery.

Its easy to get to and has several stores that I frequent here in Alabama. Plus, two of my favorite places (Starbucks and Cold Stone Creamery) are right next to each other! So this sold me on this area during my visit!
