This Meijer is pretty good. It took over the Kmart that use to be here and that was a while ago I think five years passed since its been open as of right now. They have a foreign foods section which is really unique. Also their store brand foods are pretty good compared to great value. The Deli is also better than Walmarts so if you ever go to the deli in Walmart dont go here or go to town and country or strack. The bread they make here is okay, not as good as the ones from stack or town and country or Sams club ( and no Walmart does not have good bread and I know that Walmart and Sams club are the same thing but trust me there is a difference between Sams and Walmart) but you can tell that their bread is fresh because if you do buy it does turn blue(mold) within two days after buying it. Its also relatively clean and the flowers are nicer than Walmarts. Im not saying go here instead of Walmart because yes Walmart does have a lot more options and better prices, but also this place is a lot more cozier and has better value.

This is a brand new Meijer store, and it doesnt disappoint! I love this store, and am willing to drive a bit out of my way to shop here because it is such a refreshing alternative to the lackluster service and experience that I have unfortunately become accustomed to receiving at the likes of Walmart and Target(?!) as of late. The staff here consistently goes above and beyond to demonstrate their friendliness. I like that there is a Fuel Center here, as my shopping trip truly can be all at one place instead of having to drive all over town to get what I need. Aside from the normal prices here, be sure to check out the mPerks app to get even more savings!

Nice store there. I came there many times. One things I was upset about garden and vegetable in garden dept. They dumped a lot of vegetable and fruits early and did not have sale in July. Other Meijer store have sale on them in August before they dump them in September or October. Other store like Walmart, Menards and Lowes still have them on shelves. I guess Meijer need better garden manager. I saw many strawberries on shelves there in July. Few days later my mom and I came there with coupon. They were gone. They did not have sale them. The store employee told us they were gone yesterday. I guess they dump them.

We encountered only two register lanes open and a line going back a quarter of the way to the back of the store in Portage Indiana. Employees stated this store is unable to obtain and hire employees at this location. The wonderful woman in jewelry opened up her register to help out and was very nice! The store inside and out was absolutely disgusting and filthy. ... not just sorry but FILTHY! There was obviously a dead rat or mice in the produce section as I almost vomited from the vile stench. This store is a shoplifters dream as there are very few employees in the sales floor!

I havent had any problems here like I have with Walmart. There are always handicap carts available. In my rare instances where there have no been no carts, a greeter will ask you if you would like for them to get you one. Or they will let you know when the next available one is ready. I have walked into this store and greeters have asked me would I like a cart, then they go over to them and drive them to me. What initiative! How kind! How caring! That is how it is done, Walmart, TAKE NOTES!!! I havent had any problems with waiting in line either.

The store is under poor maintenance and during peek shopping times after 5:00p they only have 3-4 person check out lanes open and only 1 side of self checkout open. Lines are ridiculously long and the management does not seem to care. I have asked why they close so many lanes and the management has said that after the sun goes down, they close the other half. I work downtown Chicago daily, this is very inconvenient for commuters just trying to grab a few items for dinner. Meijer needs to wake up.

Well, after coming here a few dozen times I can finally give an honest review. Their baking goods are sometimes amazing and then suddenly disgusting. Their produce is almost never good, (just got home now to find its almost all rotten and was not pulled from the shelves when it turned a week ago.) And hardly ever clean. I just want to like this place so much but they make it possible.. sadly I cannot recommend this place. It really bums me out that I cant.

Its Meijers but the customer Service here is stellar. I love shopping clearance and there is generally a selection of clearance items here. Back to the customer service: the cashier compelled me to sign up for mPerks because she knew how much I would save on a particular item. It was well worth signing up for and the mPerks loyalty program is hidden gem for Meijers

Meijers is really got a messed up return policy no where it states you cannot return electronics without a receipt or at least in store credit this is how a company falls apart when they piss off people when it clearly doesnt state on there website saying its not allowed good job meijers for keeping a customer happy time to let people know. How shirty they are!!

They are always so helpful and friendly. One time after I made a payment to my Meijer credit card account and it didnt go through right away they understood and let me buy my stuff and bring the receipt back and return it and rering it and pay for it on my Meijer card. They also make sure they go buy their advertised price or ticket in front of their products.

I would Buy More at Meijers but The Aisles are Confusing, I Wish the Store wasnt so Chopped Up I would rather just Shop at One Store! I find it too frustrating at this time to do so. I like the store Very Much just problems in the Grocery Department hopefully will be Changed Soon

Worlds better than Walmart. For a chain supermarket, theyre pretty good. Vegetables seem to be fresh enough and I can mostly find what I need, so thats always good. Plus. Theyre one of the few places in the area that take NFC payments. Love not having to worry about my wallet.

Yo. You lookin for food? They got it. You lookin for toys? They got some. You lookin for housewares?? They got dat stuff too. They got all that crap Wal-Mart got, without the trashy fat ole white women, and the filthy kids spilling milk all over the floor.

I always liked Meijer in Merrillville and was looking forward to the Portage store, however, the reason I give 4 stars is I was expecting an international aisle like the Merrillville store and was very disappointed with this inferior version.

This store is awesome... I had a conversation with the store mgr, Alana, today and now I know why the employees are so happy to work here. It starts at the top. Great management = great employees, which equals happy and returning customers.

Clean organized good value However, been the last 3 visits I wanted to purchase PJS for mom and the selection is at a minimum . What they did have was too pricey. Most PJS were draw string type....older peeps like elastic waist bands.
