Came in here casually to see if my current bike could be serviced. After some time discussing my options it became clear I would be more comfortable on a newer bike (I was riding a 1983 Schwinn Traveler - one in the wrong size at that). This being said, at no point did anyone pressure me into purchasing a new bike - they continued to try to find solutions for my current bike as they could tell I was attached to it. They gave me as many options as possible, a new bike only being one, and let me decide. I came in again today, this time with my new Trek, and not only did everyone I had talked to remember me, but they continued that excellent, understanding service. I wanted my new bike to fit my old rack but it didnt - they still worked together and tried to find me a solution to keep my old rack (i.e.: different adapter styles). At no point did anyone pressure me into a new rack or make me feel dumb for wanting a rack on a road bike. With personable and passionate people that dont pressure you to buy, Wheel&Sprockets is definitely my shop from here on out.

I dropped off my sons bike with a bent rim around 10:00 AM on 9/2. Eric Krzystofiak, the store manager said it was damaged beyond repair and it would require a new rim. I told him to go ahead with the repair and that it was very important to get this completed as soon as possible as the bike was my sons transportation for school. He said no problem Ill order this today and well have it finished tomorrow afternoon. I called the next day 9/3 at 2:00 in the afternoon to see if it was ready for pick up. It appears that the rim was never even ORDERED!!!! I was told a bunch of excuses, the best was "we dont order parts everyday". Flat out lied and took no responsibility of the mix up. I took the bike to Glenview Cycle and they had the rim in stock, no problems. STAY AWAY!!

I enjoyed my visit to Wheel and Sprocket. Im looking to get into biking as a way to commute to work and get in shape. The extent of my bike knowledge stops at which part you sit on. I walked in and Charlie got right to me. He was running out of breath with how much he was teaching me. Even suggested going used which wouldnt make him any money. Friendly, honorable and very knowledgeable. If youre unsure, theyve got great guarantees and let you test drive their bikes. Ill be heading back soon, when Im ready to lighten my pocketbook.

Ive been in Chicago for about three weeks, and I had my bike seat stolen (thanks jerk you did this.) My bike seat was one of those quick release seats so when they replaced my seat they also replaced the quick release mechanism on the seat. They also replace the quick release mechanisms on my front and back tires. They were very helpful and worked quickly. They did this work for me on Labor Day as I need my bike for work on Tuesday. To the reviewer who gave this one star, you are insane and probably a liar.

Wasted time and gas going to FOUR local bike shops for a common part that they didnt bother to stock. Hard to support your LBS if they never have what you need. Just before giving up and ordering it from Amazon, I remembered W&S in Evanston. They had several, in my choice of two colors. Good price as well. Also, as during my only previous visit, very friendly people. I will be going to them first from now on.

I stopped by yesterday and asked for help with my annoying bike rack. Gretchen spent at least 15 minutes showing me how to adjust it. I was very pleased, especially since she didnt charge anything. The other day I had gone to the Pony Shop and they charged me $8 to simply remove unnecessary grips from the handlebars.

Great staff and great service, one of my favorite shops in town! Tom was extremely nice and helpful, went above and beyond to accommodate my requests and offered me "price match" on multiple items and cant be thankful enough for that!! Thank you Tom and David, you guys are the best!! Highly recommend!!

Really helpfully and knowledgeable staff, always willing to make a suggestion and help out. The selection might be a little small but it has definitely improved and they will ship anything to the store. Its awesome to have such a good local bike shop.

Super helpful. Bought a defective lock and I exchanged it the next day, no hassles. Very quick both times--will definitely come back for more. Also a bunch of sexy bikes to look at and right off of a parking protected bike lane to boot.

Great bike shop! I purchased my Trek Lexa here three years ago and have been taking it in for winter tuneups ever since. Great staff fit me to the right bike and keep it riding like a dream!

inquired about bike gear shifter replacement, i was told 100+ 100 labor. I went to another bike shop in town and was told 20 per piece *(40) and 40 labor.

Went today and brought my Trek in to get checked. They were honest, did adjustments, and didnt charge. Will definitely buy from them. Recommend.

Awful store. These people care nothing about their customers and are only interested in extracting money in any way they can.

Terrible, they actually put a nail through my tire to void the warranty and charge me an extra hundred dollars.

I hated this shop. I hope you never have to come to this shop.
