Horrible misinformation in their advertising. I placed my order Monday, from FL, paid FL sales tax, chose the UPS ground shipping option because since I order parts through my business every day of the week, I know that I will get the order the next day. However its now Thursday and I find out that they ship from NEW JERSEY........My order is somewhere out of state. I would have definitely paid the extra $8 for 2nd day shipping........Especially after I paid $20 in FL sales tax. I may has well have bought from somewhere else that I KNEW was shipping out of state, and paid THEM for overnight shipping, at least I would have my order right now. Ive been calling both phone numbers since 4:55 yesterday and no answer, except for a message saying they are open until 5:00....oh really, open until 5:00???? in fact their 866 number doesnt do anything except disconnect, doesnt even ring. They couldnt even provide me with a real tracking number, just some generic expected time of delivery. Because of their horrible lack of response or customer service, I now have to cancel my families boating trip this weekend because of the giant hole in my boat where the transducer is supposed to go. Even worse, my order will be sitting on the door step for 3 days until Im able to get there, since my ship address is at work, an hour away from my home. My $350 order will be sitting outside rain or shine, hopefully not get stolen...... Strangely enough, they have no problem responding to everyones Google review complaints......Im seriously outraged by these people. UPDATE- finally reached someone after filing a complaint with PAYPAL. I was replied with a very untrue, nasty response claiming something about being secure and not sharing tracking numbers.....The nasty rude old lady I reached on the phone never ONCE apologized, instead she continuously interrupted me 20X and made a TON of excuses. I finally received ONE email response all day, which was also full of misinformation. They lied to Paypal and claimed that they dont use an 866 number, however that number is on THEIR own email confirming the order, with their own letterhead. UNBELIEVABLE dirt bag management, and zero customer service.......DO NOT SHOP THERE

When calling SMD, I attempted this 7 times in one morning. Never had a life person, only voice mail. Not even an Indian Call Center. Forwarded the same morning 4 times an email message to SMD, which messages also contained my phone number, Never received a return email or phone call. My next step was to call my bank who not only advised that the funds were taken from my card but also could advise that SMD had obtained the funds. Requested the bank to have the funds returned to my card. Thereon wrote a 5th email to SMD to cancel the order. Wow, I eventually received a phone call from SMD after this email message. Advised SMD that I had cancelled the order and that I had received from them 1 email message in which I was advised that they could not process the order as I had provided them with a billing address and a shipping address. The 2nd address being a local Mail Place. SMD seems not to know or understand that a "manned" deliver location for UPS or FedEx deliveries is desirable in order to prevent cargo theft from my doorstep. In either case communication within SMD is non-existing, which is for me non-acceptable. Also not being able to process an order when providing SMD with 2 different addresses, which they asking for in their order form appears to me a method of delaying an order.

Ordered a battery charger one week ago. They ran my card but no shipping. Emailed today and amazingly they responded. "They wont get the charger for another month". I cancelled the order and bought it at West Marine for $8 more. (in stock) Now I have to deal with them to get the card credited!! BAD COMPANY!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!!!! SCAM SCAM SCAM!! They dont have a "warehouse". They order from the manufacture after they get your money!!! OK... I heard from Greg with SMD. I obviously over reacted with the above comments. There is no excuse that I have, except it was at a frustrating moment. Also, I am wrong on all counts. They do have a warehouse. They dont run your card before shipping. My sincere apologies to Greg and all employees at SMD. Im posting this in hope of reversing any damage that may have been done. Their pricing is lower than any other marine distributors. When you place your order, confirm that the item(s) is in stock even if the website says it is. I will definitely order from this company again, if they will have me as a customer. Sincerely, Kelvin

Horrible Business Practices. Called at least 5 times and left 3 messages with no return asking if an item was available. One week later, I had had enough of the waiting and I took a leap of faith and ordered the Simrad Combi-C for $1130 - the website said "Usually ships within 24 hours". The next morning, I get a call from them saying that the transducer is actually $1400 and change and that it is somehow Simrads fault for not updating prices in 4 years and that "It is impossible for us to keep our prices up to date." I explained to them that I had tried calling them for the past week so that this wouldnt happen and that I had already paid them through paypal and money had been withdrawn from my account. The man on the phone refused to accept responsibility for the error and do the right thing and just hours later, magically, the price is changed on the website. If there was a rating for 0 stars, I would give it. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES, STAY AWAY!

I have to say, after buying my oil changer from this company (which was the best price I could find!) I wanted to know when to expect the delivery. I called and couldnt get through, and then sent an email that was not immediately responded to. To be fair to this company, I started reading reviews about their communications and started to get worried. I really needed the changer, and thought I was going to be disappointed because of the reviews. I could have been no farther from the truth. Even though my order status said processing, it was already in route, and I received it two days after ordering it! They did respond to my emails in a very courteous and professional way, so I want to publicly apologize. The only reason for my 3 stars is the do need to probably respond faster to their customers. I work in the technology field, and todays consumers shopping online expect instant responses or they will move on.

Although they have good prices online, their customer service is unavailable over the phone. We ordered a pump, never received it, after a month of waiting and attempts to contact, the tracking said the pump was returned to sender. They sent the pump to Hialeah instead of Naples, because a number in the zip code was missing, although the rest of the address said Naples, they never bother to contact us about it, after we reached out, they said they would only send the pump if we paid for shipping again, the representative was rude and could use some training on basic costumer service. They chose to loose a costumer with a fleet of yachts thank waive a $15 shipping fee on a $370 sale when there are many other vendors. I would highly recommend JMS online marine supply, better prices, great costumer service, immediate response, they answer their phone, and speak English.
