I purchased a fabric for making pillows but then I changed my mind later on. I finally got to bring the fabrics back to the store. I wished I had taking down the sales persons name to write down here but I decided not to. No need to be bring down my level to be like her: 1. Before really counted the days of the recipt, the sales person just rudely said (her tone of voice), I cannot return the fabric since its outside of 3 months. She did not even apologize her mistake. 2. I did not wash, cut nor touch the fabric. But somehow when she measured the fabric it was shorter than what was typed in the recipt. I was really upset at that point. As a honest person, I felt I was cheated by the store with the $40 dollars I paid but with less. Not only so, the lady was rude, and offer no help. I was so upset that I told her to donate the fabric to someone else needs it, and I am Ok not getting refund. Lesson learned: make sure the fabric was cut what you paid for. If I am the owner, I will replacing the fabric clerk with better sales person, who will help me bring in more satisfied customers but not scold my customers away. There are plenty of people needs job and willing to do a great job. Escalate to their manager so the issue can be handled properly.

A busy pre-Christmas day, Dec. 21, at JoAnn Fabrics in Los Altos! I was greeted and assisted by a young woman when i entered the store - Nice!! And the young man at the cash register was polite, friendly and handled the line of customers in good natured way despite the busyness. He also took the time to explain the restocking process and timing for an item that was out of stock. When I compare my experience today with one at Michaels a week ago - there was a night and day difference! In the future, when I am shopping for items that are available in both places, I will be coming back to Jo-Ann - hands down winner for customer service.

I hope one day this store gets a remodel. The building is really showing its age now that the whole San Antonio shopping center is being revamped. No air conditioning, so when Ive gone on hot days, the shopping experience is pretty miserable. Theyve added a few portable A/C units, complete with duct taped power cords on the floor. The interior needs a major facelift. They do have a good selection of fabric and notions and frequent sales. The layout is ok - I can usually find what Im looking for without asking. The staff have always been very friendly and willing to help.

I get that these people dont make much $$, so the quality of employee is not top notch, but you would think that answering the phone does not take a rocket scientist to execute. I called the Mountain View store three times and till no one would handle my call. Each time I called the first one to pick up the phone was very apologetic about the lack of service, but I was still forwarded to the white noise of a phone on hold rather than a voice that would answer my questions.

Like others have said, customer service is non-existent here and the store is just depressing. Its not well-cared for and the staff certainly doesnt do anything but roam around aimlessly. Check out the shiny new one across the bridge in Fremont (Boscell Rd). The manager isnt totally competent but is friendly and has a great staff. Also a great staff in Hayward! It may be an older and smaller store, but nice people!

Dont go there to walk quietly down the aisles and discover new things. The atmosphere is more: go straight to what youre looking for and leave after having waited 15 minutes in line to pay because there is only one cashier. They have a good selection of felt, ribbon and threads of every color and quality. Nothing incredible though. Always look on their website for a coupon, youll always get a discount.

Those of us who shop here regularly know that service can be slow. Take a number first if the cutting line is long and then look around. Im going tomorrow to buy batting 50% off plus my 15% educator discount. Thread is also on sale. Thats the way to shop here. I just wish they hadnt remodeled. I think the store looks terrible. The only improvement was moving the cash registers to the front.

Came here with the Google Offer and bought some fabric since I am trying to get back into sewing. The layout of the store is a bit confusing and the store itself is a little outdated, but they have really nice staff who can answer all of your questions and their pricing is great (especially with the offer!). I will be back for sure. :)

I will be happy if I never have to visit this Jo-Anns again. The selection isnt particularly good, the "red tag" fabrics are not cheap, and the staff are slow and nonknowledgeable. I have gone during the day, in the evening, on weekdays and weekends, and they always seem uninterested and tired.

Good selection of fabrics, though not cheap. Pleased with the variety of crafts stocked although there were lots of empty spaces on the shelves. People in US should be pleased they have such stores - the UK has very few so I felt like I was in Alladins cave.

Old, outdated store that has a very poor selection compared to some of the larger Jo-Anns Ive been to. The staff arent very knowledgeable and I am never able to find what Im looking for at a good price. Its in a very awkward location as well.

Store is awful. Out of everything. Items not stocked where they should be- ie the zippers not in order by color/size/ type. Roamed around the parking lot for awhile to even find it the sign is tiny.

I, too, have had many issues at this location, however my last two visits within the month have been much better. The staff appears to be new and more interested in the customer experience.

Joann management (customer service): do you care about your customers at all? Your employees are rude and rude and rude. They are there to collect paychecks and not motivated to help. :(

Small store but neat and clean! Has other stuff than michaels and this is where you could go and complete the search for the craft you were looking for.

Its kind of small (for a JoAnns) but they have a ton of fabric (and Michaels has none). So this is a great place to go for fabric.
