This place used to be a little gem with a nice meat market, a good selection of fresh products, and a small deli that even made sandwiches. In comes new owners a few years back and its all changed since. Meat market is closed up. Deli is now nonexistent. Most items on shelves are understocked or outadated. The glass cases are fogged up and items are barely cool. The old style market registers were replaced with a large glass case full of overpriced junk like cheap knives and drug paraphernalia. Its a shame that a nice small country market has turned in to basically a low budget 7-11. Unfortunately the old sign is still there making you think of glory days gone by, and the reviews on this page are from when the store was actually nice, dont let it fool you as its all gone downhill.

We were heading back home to Santa Rosa from Willits and stopped at a small store called Calpella Market for something to drink and was surprised at how many things this little store has available. The butcher in the back had the most beautiful meats we’ve seen outside of the bigger cities. Prices were good and the people working there seemed to truly be happy you were there to shop. The butcher had a great sense of humor and the meat looked so good we bought some cuts to bring home. He cut them exactly like we wanted, without a second thought, and seemed very proud of his work. (As well he should!) If you’re in the little town of Calpella, CA you should stop in, if only to look.

Ok, took my buck to get butchered. "Oh, we do the best job. We wrap and label and you dont lose meat." Well guess what. They charged twice the going rate...new owners ya know. We prefer paid counting on their word...HAH...FORKED TONGUE! At the time we left it there...pick up on the 20th ok? Oh sure no problem!!! They called last week, "You need to get your deer now". We cannot. Well be there Saturday as per agreement..."oh, well have to do something then" My husband arrives and guess what, THEY cant find it, ITS not labeled when they do AND NOT FROZEN COMPLETELY!!! SUPERETTE...SUPER DISAPPOINTED BY THE ONE IN UKIAH, CA.
