Kendra, the owner of Hawthorne coffee is a wonderful and friendly lady. Her husband roasts the coffee. She has three kids 1 thru 5 and if you are lucky, you might be able to see those cute little kids. The likes of Hawthorne coffee are what made our American society, such a wonderful place.. before starbucks and McDonalds. I admit - the coffee at Starbucks is very uniquely special and tasty.. Hawthorne, with their fresh roasts, also offers pretty good coffee. More importantly, you will also enjoy the beautiful place that Kendra and her husband have set up in a quaint locale.. Safe neighbourhood. Easy parking. Nice bar counter and rustic table setting. Very clean. Very friendly.. Almost like the coffee shop version of the soda shop in Mayberry.

Visiting some friends in Milwaukee and she suggested that my fiancé and I grabbed a coffee at hawthornes. The coffee and pastries were both delicious and fresh. To top it all off we were able to enjoy a seat outside with our pup, who was brought water when we got there! Overall seems like a great place and if I lived in the area this would definitely be my go to coffee spot!

Went to Iron Grate BBQ on a Sunday. Great smoked meats and fantastic southern sides. Oooooo the smothered greens!!!! It was too hot to sit outside, but I would like to go back at night and chill for a few. Maybe when the rumored brewery moves in. My hubby grabbed a cold brew from Hawthorne on the way out and thoroughly enjoyed that treat on the way home.

Simple coffee. Small batches. Pour overs. The order board is chalk and the only non hand made beverage option is the cold brew. Try the bourbon option. The space is all coffee in the front and BBQ in the back so if you show up on a Friday or weekend you likely will catch Edna working before you smell the coffee.

This place has excellent coffee, some of the best in Milwaukee. The space looks a little rough around the edges, but its charming, and the coffee is certainly coffee geek approved. It is well worth the trip out here. They sell beans as well so if you enjoy something you can take it home.

One of the most down to earth coffee shops weve been to! Great coffee!! Simple the way it should be, without the added artificial flavorings and sugar that masks bad coffee!! Thats not needed here! The owner sat and talked to us for awhile about home roasting! Super nice guy!!

Very casual coffee shop in an unexpected place. No drip coffee, all pour over or espresso drinks which if a really nice touch. My barista made a coffee recommendation that was perfect for me. There cinnamon scone I had was pretty darn good.

Have an early flight from MKE? Stop for some morning coffee. Best coffee in town. Be ready to wait a minute or two, it is a pour over. Also, no decaf options available. Who would want that anyway?

The nitro cold brew coffee is Amazing! Their bourbon barrel aged cold brew is great and its hard to believe there is no alcohol in it.
