The absolute worst. Dont deserve one star rating. We desperately needed a car, and drove four hours down to Goben to get one they had for a reasonable price. First we had to deal with the salesman, who is flat out disgusting and treats you like youre a twelve year old kid. We heard a running water noise when driving, and he told us "Oh dont worry, Im sure its the wiper fluid sloshing around." Bull. After the test drive I noticed that the front headlight had moisture in it (like it was raining) and that it had been cracked and very poorly glued. They offered to send us a new one, since we live far away. Ok so far, minus telling us the fluid is fine. So we buy the car, and its under warranty for 100 days. We get it home and within 3 days, the check engine light is on. We bring it to our mechanic, and it turns out theres a cracked block/head gasket, and leaks all over the place. INCLUDING PLACES WE WERE TOLD PASSED INSPECTION. So our mechanic called Goben and explained the problem. The owner was so rude to her, he made her cry. He then called us and told us our mechanic was impossible. Once we got that worked out he said they "must have missed" the leaking lines, even though they told us they were fine, and "everyone has a different idea of what a leak is". Now, this is their fault AND the car is under warranty. Will they pay for a fix? No. They also refuse to pay for the work thats covered by the warranty, since we didnt bring it to them. The car isnt safe to drive four hours back to them. Our mechanic also had to put SEVERAL GALLONS of fluid into the car, it was leaking that badly. Yeah, Goben, we all have different ideas what a leak is but seriously? What idiots. We finally got the car back down to them to return it (they told us if it broke down en route, to just leave it. doesnt sound suspicious to me...), the horrible owner refused to even talk to us. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! We lost out on a car we needed and wound up being without a car for months because of these jerks!

I also had a great experience at Goben Cars, East Side Location!! I was not seriously looking to purchase a newer used car but I often look online at the local deals. I found a couple vehicles that were priced fairly on Goben’s website so I decided I wanted to take a test drive. I contacted the dealership via email. Meg in sales, called me right away to find out my interests. Her phone skills are upbeat, positive, and exciting and I knew I would like her in person. She ordered one of the west cars to be delivered to the east location for me to test drive. On Friday, my mom and I drove out to Goben Cars to look around and test drive a couple vehicles. Meg was exactly the same character to us in person, as she was on the phone earlier in the week. The only downfall to our experience was the pouring rain we had to deal with all day. We had fun test driving vehicles and Meg went out of her way in the rain to relocate cars around the lot in order for me to test drive them. I fell in love with a 2012 Cadillac and decided I wanted to make an offer. I had already completed research on my trade and the value of the Cadillac and knew what I was willing to spend. In the end, Meg and her manager Tim were able to accommodate my offer, yay! Not only was the service great during the vehicle purchase and financing but Meg has continued to stand behind me, the customer, since the sale. It’s difficult to see any type of flaws on a car when it’s raining outside. I have asked Goben to correct a couple of items since my purchase and Meg has been there to help me with my requests. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Meg and the staff of Goben Cars for making my car purchasing experience wonderful!

This was my first experience buying a car from a used-only dealer and I was a bit nervous about it. My research was complete (I have an MA in Library Science, so Im pretty good at research) and I located the car I wanted at the price I wanted at Goben West. (2010 Ford Fusion with less than 75,000 miles for under $15K) I live on the East Side, and Goben would have gladly driven it over there for me, but I had one morning of vacation still left and decided to just go for it and make the drive to Middleton. There was no pressure in the sales conversation, and since the test drive confirmed how much I wanted this car, I put some earnest money down to hold "my" car for me while I consulted with the rest of the family. It probably didnt hurt that I arrived home with a brand new 4-square ball courtesy of Goben. Got the whole family on board and after they took a test drive with me, we purchased our new (to us) car. The friendly staff made the paperwork process as painless as possible, the new title and registration arrived via mail as promised. We hit one hitch, and that was an A/C that didnt work. I discovered this about a month after we bought the car when the flowering trees started to try to kill me via mucus. I had to close the windows and turn on the A/C...but only warm air came out. I called the East Side and Barbara assured me that of course I didnt have to bring it to the West Side ("We would have brought it over here for your from the beginning!" she said). They gave me a loaner while they got it fixed and didnt charge me a dime. Next time Im looking for a used car, Ill be checking Goben first. Thumbs up! :)

This might be the worst dealership experience I have ever experienced with the finance manager (Sharon) the pseudo general manager Matthew Gile, Mr. Goben was called so he could scream on the phone that I can report them to anyone and they no longer want to sell me a car...LOL. I will exclude Scott Allen the sales representative from this list because he was professional and everything you would expect from a car salesman. Going into the dealership I had a $35k pre-approval from a local bank. They told me I could use that to buy two cars of which I picked a used Ford Fusion and used Cadillac CTS4. Left the dealership on Friday giving them ALL specific instruction to not shotgun my credit I’m happy with my current rate. Well… not only did they shotgun my credit. They entered my name wrong in the contract which “flagged” my account. The next day I found myself in the financial intuition explaining the situation to the bankers. The worst part is when I went back to the deal ship asking for the original paper application so I can prove my case they were unwilling to give it to me and threatened to call the police if I didn’t leave. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED…DON’T DO IT!

Goben sold me a car last Aug and I am very disappointed in the way Tim (the GM) has handled my situation. I bought a Cadillac SRX. It was a pink Mary Kay car and the dealership bought the car after the car was painted black. While checking over the car and taking for a test drive, I asked about the paint job and if the car got scratched would it show pink. The salesman assured me that they send these cars back to GM and they put 8 coats over the pink. He said I wont ever have a problem with the pink ever showing up again. After one winter with the SRX my vehicle looks like a pink leopard print Cadillac. I took my SRX back to Goben right away and Tim offered me 1000 dollars and said he could probably get me 1500 dollars to paint the spots that were showing pink. As of recently, Tim has backed out of the 1000 dollars and has changed it to 500 dollars. After one winter I have noticed when they painted the car, they never took off any moldings. This is a nightmare and Tim from Goben just told his salesman who sold me the car to not come in because he doesnt want to talk. I wonder why. I would never buy a car from Goben again.
