We stayed in one of the honeymoon cabins. It was clean and comfortable. Very simple but cozy. The grounds were well kept. The amenities were nice and easily accessible. Everyone was always friendly and accommodating. We have no complaints. Cell service here is spotty with limited data access when you do get service but we found it was this way everywhere in the area. My only suggestion would be that maybe the resort could offer a cable modem for Wi-Fi. It wasnt a big problem for us so we will definitely be returning again soon. Loved our stay here!!!

My wife and I stayed in one of the Honeymoon cabins (way overpriced). We were charged extra for using a credit card to pay for the room. For $160 you would expect some sort of breakfast or something...but NO, it is just for the shelter with a kitchen. There is technically a Jacuzzi in the room, but the water heater isnt large enough to fill it. So the directions say "fill with hot water till it runs out...wait 15-20 minutes....repeat until tub is full". After 1 HOUR we quit trying, took a shower and went to bed. NOT worth the price at all.

We didnt stay at the lodge but we DID visit the Smoke Hole Caverns which are owned by the same people and are located near by. (They have bill boards everywhere down there so not sure why the caverns dont have their own google page). Anyways, they charge $13 a ticket for a 30 minute tour. Our tour guide spent more time talking about her health then she did about the caves and I was taken aback by the abuse some of the natural rock formations had recieved. My husband and I felt we had been taken in by a tourist trap.

I was recently at the Smoke Hole Gift Shop with my family. We ordered some snacks and bought a few souvenirs. While we were sitting there I noticed a young man who was an employee come by the popcorn machine and scoop out some popcorn with his bare hand and eat it. He did this not once but twice! I immediately told my father and we decided we no longer wanted to eat there. We may sometime visit it again in the future but we will never again eat there.

All I can nice about this place was the room was clean. The staff at the check in desk was very rude. The fishing as well as the cabin was way overpriced. We had asked for no housekeeping but the second day they came in anyway and cleaned though I had cleaned already. For the money Gatlinburg Tennessee would have at been more secluded, had a washer and dryer and a private hot tub. When I stay in West Virginia again I will be staying closer to Romney.

An easy trek through the caverns provides views of standard stalactites and mites, but the docents monologue is full of painfully bland jokes and cheapens what could be awe inspiring. The fact that theyre introduced a trout pool inside the cave furthers the sense that youre still in the mini golf course, not looking at formations that took centuries to from.

Smoke Hole Caverns was a very great place! I loved the log cabin style of the Caverns. I also loved the gift shop and tour. I learned a lot from the tour. We also injoyed "mining" for stones. Rooms were very nice and clean and the staff were very kind! The location was great and the mountain view outside was wonderful! Definitely would recommend.

Went for a tour of the cavern with the family. It was very interesting. We learned a lot and the kids loved it. For only a couple dollars extra, the kids were able to go "mining" and actually got quite a few nice rocks/gems unlike some other places. Gift shop was obviously overpriced but the people were friendly and our tour guide was great.

Janet was a great hostess and our cabin was spotlessly cleaned every day. This area of West Virginia is a motorcyclists dream and Cabins is a great central location to ride out in different directions each day. I also love to hike and next time plan on spending more time so I can hike at Seneca Rocks or Dolly Sods!!

Beautiful cavern with very friendly and knowledgeable tour guides. Only complaint is the pond inside cavern where fish are kept smells like a dirty turtle tank from old fish food. Otherwise it has huge souvenir store, clean facilities, and a cute little putt putt and gym mining setup outside.

Absolutely wonderful atmosphere. Gift shop was much bigger than I expected and more items than I ever thought they would have. Workers are pleasant and very friendly. Will definitely go back and recommend for anyone wanting a taste of country living.

The tour through the caverns was very fun. It was a bit chilly in the caves (58°). The tour tales approximately 45 minutes. There is a bit of stair climbing involved as well as low overhangs; Really only an issue if you are 58" or taller.

So much to do here! The honeymoon cabin was luxurious, complete with a jacuzzi and fireplace. The gift shop was gorgeous, and so was the cave. The tour guide (Sydney) was really fun and energetic. All around a great experience!

A hidden gem in the WV mountains! We had a wonderful time visiting the caverns, the gift shop, and fishing at the trout pond!! The staff is extremely kind and helpful. We loved that they were dog friendly! :)

This was my 3rd visit to the caverns. We did the guide tour which was about 20 mins. The gift shop is huge but a small section is gem stone related. Very nice place and I enjoy it more than Seneca caverns.

I went on a cave tour here. It was a good time. This area is beautiful and perfect for the outdoor type. The staff was friendly and very helpful even when helping us to find competing places to hike etc

Interesting caverns with many unusual formations. Guide was fairly knowledgeable. Has a large gift shop with snacks and decent bathrooms. No wifi...that is only available for overnight guests.

Smoke Hole Caverns is a true example of living history. The tour guides do their best to make the stone come to life and tell the caves story. The tour is worth the price of admission.

Everything was great except the screaming child, was surprised they allowed toddlers into a cave system. It didnt seem safe and the kid certainly wasnt enjoying it, neither were we.

We liked this place much better before it burned down. The new gift shop is so big and overpriced. The caverns are very nice. The kids and I love visiting them.

Beautiful Place to take the family for a weekend trip. Great activity for kids especially if you want to get them away from the electronics for a day or two.

Huge gift shop but most of the stuff wasnt really my forté. I did however walk in with my dog and nobody gave me a hard time, so that was pretty cool.

The cavern is rather small compared to others we went, though the tour guide did a great job telling the stories behind some formations.

We did a cavern tour and our tour guide April was great! We had about 14 people in our group and everyone had a wonderful time.
