The interactive room designed for children was engaging and the remainder of the museum is in need of curation by an engagement specialist and a historian. You will find some displays unlabeled and unclear. The museum was created from the perspective of power and wealth and you wont find any mentioning of the story of the workers except for a history day project a teenie bopper created on cardboard siting in front of the gift shop. Because their stories are lacking, its very difficult to have an emotionally intelligent experience here.

The museum is open this year (2014) through mid-October every day from 10am until 5pm. I was surprised to find that the Vermont Marble Company had such a broad reach across the United States, in that nearly every state has buildings whose marble columns or stairs or facades were fashioned in Proctor VT. What a fascinating history housed in this historic factory building, and engaging museum!

Visited the Vermont Marble Museum earlier this summer with my children. They had so much fun exploring the Earth Alive exhibit and seeing the different marble sculptures on display. And I was able to purchase some beautiful marble gifts from the Vermont Marble Museum gift shop for an upcoming wedding and teacher gifts.

Please note that the "VERMONT / What to see" web site suggests that the museum is open all year. NOT SO. It is open only seasonally.
