I have been shopping at Freds ever since I moved here in 1987. I have been an ultra loyal customer ever since the first time I shopped there, as a matter of fact I think I am way more loyal to Freds than they are to me. I know its been years now but I still havent gotten over the buy out by Krogers, and its been my observation that since that happened most of the things I liked so much about Freds have changed-not for the better or those things have just gone away for good. Mostly Im talking about my favorite foods that I am no longer able to buy-they just disappear-pouf- they are just no longer there, never to return. What happened to the Yoplait Lime Whipped Yogurt or Challenge Whipped Butter? Their demographic studies told them they werent selling well any more. Oh. But I was able to find those products elsewhere, it made my shopping more of a hassle, but carry on, carry on... All the older, great clerks have left, except Dennis is there one day a week on Sunday. Im truly having a tough time getting used to some of the younger, newer ones, They seem so disinterested in anything but each other- but then, Im getting older, and change is getting harder. Really, I hate that. But what is bugging me the most right now is that I havent a clue to who the manager is-couldnt tell you. Or even the assistant manager-is there one? And the store is looking dirtier and dirtier all the time. It bums me out that there is paper and trash and cigarette butts all over the front of the store. If I was the manager I would be embarrassed....do you really have no people available to get out there with a broom to sweep up the place every couple of hours. It looks bad. And when your store looks dirty what does that say about the food you sell....scary... not good.

If you really need to get some groceries and maybe some kind of goods then this Fred Meyer is a necessary evil for Kirkland. Its close to where I live, so I go there on occasion. However, they ALWAYS seem to be out of something I went there for and it blows my mind... It used to be diapers of a certain size/brand (you dont just CHANGE your babys diapers randomly) or baby formula (again, you dont just CHANGE what your baby is eating). So, every time this happened I had to go somewhere else anyway. Also, they seem to want to be on the craft beer bandwagon, but without actually giving craft beer a good amount of shelf space... Why is half the beer aisle still Miller and Budweiser?! They have a pretty good deal on 4-packs of 22oz craft beers - I think they give a percent off. However, the selection is pretty basic - your can expect the major local beers and ciders and some national ones like Stone. However, they never have stone special releases or anything, which is a miss in my opinion. So, Ive learned to just go to Trader Joes for my groceries... and Target in Woodinville for goods (and sometimes light groceries). Yes, Im willing to drive ALL THE WAY to Woodinville because this Fred Meyer is so inept. Its dumb. Theyre a waste of space. Finally, I just go to BevoMo in Bellevue, near work, when Im looking for some new beer.

Bought a replacement power cord for an ac adapter, which said on the box that it fits ALL ac adapters. However it didnt, and when i went to return it i told the guy about how it doesnt work for all ac adapters and he said "Well maybe your adapter doesnt fit the specifications for it." Last time i checked if I have an ac adapter, and buy something that says it fits ALL ac adapters, then how is my adapter to blame? I bought this with my fred meyer account 20 minutes before returning it, and the system didnt have my purchase in there. I then had to search my car for the actual receipt to be able to return it. The guy working the customer service desk obviously has zero customer service skills, because even if it was my fault for buying the wrong product, which it wasnt, you never suggest it was tje customers fault. I had to make two trips to fred meyer because of the false guarantee on your ge product, so I dont appreciate being treated like an idiot for something that wasnt my fault. This happened feb 23, 2017 at 5:40 pm. Last time Im ever going to this fred meyer

Lovely LOOKING remodel but I could not be more disappointed!!! 1) The location of products is confusing combined with the aisles zig zagging & not enough room between the center aisle youre forced to ZAG into each time you finish a short aisle. 2) There are fewer grocery choices because the store now sells EVERY thing except the kitchen sink (which actually might be sold there & I just havent found it). Its as if theyre trying to be a lousy COSTCO. 3) its no longer a friendly feeling store. Its WAY too big for that. Too big. Too cold feeling. 4) I loathe how the milk is as far away as it can possibly be FORCING you to walk what seems like an eternity to get to it. And Im very fit. I cant imagine an older person ever returning after one visit. 5) It feels like it was designed in some expensive boardroom by a bunch of men who have rarely set foot in a grocery store. I used to go to FM every week. Now I go ONLY for one or two specific items if Im desperate. No more big weekly grocery trips there for me.

The Kirkland Fred Meyer is the best grocery store in town, hands down. Heres why: First off, unlike the rest of the stores in Kirkland, Fred Meyer doesnt set their prices like they know theyre in Kirkland. And theres zero pretense or over-the-top superfluous efforts to be exotic to be found. They have a fresh sushi counter, an olive bar, an incredible salad bar, an Icee machine, a better cheese selection than any QFC, a good bulk foods section, great fresh fish and butcher, large bakery, and hands down the best vegan/organic section (its an entire aisle! including frozen and chilled sections). On top of that they have the very best checkers around! Check with my boy Steven - most helpful, and funniest personality ever on a checker...

Youd better to keep an eye on the register as your cashier is processing your purchase because I had too many mistakes I caught (incorrect produce entry, not taking proper discount). The last time was that I found a manual typing code "coffee shop" $4.00 in my receipt that I was not aware of. It turned out to be "Starbucks" money in the store. The cashier who was going to have a break after my check entered manually that code. The customer service refunded my money, but it looked like he was trying to take $4.00 out of my check.

This place is always great. Lots of cashiers, well-stocked and organized shelves, clean bathrooms, available carts and baskets where you would expect them to be, and typically great prices. Best thing about Fred Meyer is they are not just an excellent grocery store. They have everything else in great selection and value, from furniture to BBQ, to plant nursery and planting pots and supplies, to jewelry, pharmacy and clothes... Ive been a customer for over 40 years at various Fred Meyer stores and am still happy they are around.
