To preface, this review is specifically for the artist Alex Ivy. In my estimation, when one wants to get something as permanent as a tattoo, one goes to no one but the best. A true artist in ever sense of the word, and without a doubt, Alex encompasses artistry in every facet of the word. Not only is she a tattoo artist, but also a musical artist (check her out), which I believe lends only a deeper understanding of the medium to her that she weaves expertly into every piece she designs. Now, in the interest of painting an apt portrayal of this esteemed artist, Ill detail a bit of background on my experience with her. My skin is a tricky canvas to master, while it absorbs ink readily, it also bleeds it out just as quickly. Being an unexpected hurdle, I was understandably dismayed, but Alex never seemed daunted in the least. With each new piece she worked on for me, she demonstrated her deft skill by adjusting technique and expertly making sure my stubborn epidermis retained every ounce of ink administered. The truly surprising aspect is not that she defeated a rather significant issue, which she did, but that cleanliness of lines and pristine designs did not suffer in the least. It goes without saying, Alex is an artist to watch. So, whether you have a design youd like her to put a twist on, or one of your own fathoming; you will leave her chair delighted with the end result. Should you be in need of some fresh ink, do yourself a favor and book an appointment with Alex Ivy post haste.

I have been going to Cody at DermFX Tattoo for about six months now, he is doing a full sleeve on my right arm with a shoulder cover up. It is ninety percent done and looks amazing. Cody is also doing a chest piece and a half sleeve on my left arm. A cover up on my chest and two cover ups on my left arm, one of them covers about half my arm (lower). Each time I enter the shop I am greeted with a smile and hello by one of the artists. Each scheduled session is different, as it IS a tattoo shop. Time does not ALWAYS work in favor of the artist and they run over into your schedule. No biggie, usually I am notified in advance that hes running late. Art takes time! Cody always gives me his full attention once I sit in his chair! Sometimes they have personal issues arise in their lives and they need to reschedule. Like when Codys baby was coming, we just had the outline of my 38, he had to go! Do you want someone tattooing you when their mind isnt there? After all they are human beings as well. I have had Alex tattoo a small "kiss of poison" on my hand, she did wonderful. Who knows, I may even have Jay tattoo something. All of the artists at DermFX are wonderful individuals! P.S. The shop is under reconstruction too! Be patient and dont judge! Love you guys!!

Considering the fact that I have never been here I have my own tattoo shop that I go to and would never go anywhere else this is for my best friend since I saw what kinda hell she went through with this douch bag. The tattoo artist known as Jay....really unprofessional Im sorry but what kinda tattoo artist cancels on your own client 5-6 DIFFERENT TIMES!!!! and all because of some chick on tinder REALLY! Then you wanna go around and blame your client for being a bad client when she gets "upset" no Im sorry if you cancelled on me 5-6 times because you were "sick" I would be pissed too! I think anyone would be! Tattoos are expensive and time consuming if we have an appointment KEEP THE GOD DAMN APPOINTMENT! His work isnt even that good! To my bestie Im sorry to say this....even if it was a deal its a crap piece every time I saw her it looked like he dug in to deep and created scarring it looked like it hurt A LOT! He cant tattoo, he doesnt stay true to his word, he is a child if he doesnt get his way, very unprofessional, if you want a guy who will scar you then hey he is your man. However if you want a good tattoo something youll be proud for ever I would go anywhere else!

My experience was very poor to say the lease. I bought a 50 voucher from Groupon for an hour of tattooing. There business hours are from 12 pm to 8 pm and I have gone to this place for the 3rd time at noon . Sat there for an hour until 1 and no one has shown up. No point to have business hours if your gonna be there . I finally just waited to go there at 4 pm and holly crap they were there . Looked at an easy tattoo that was already on my arm and just wanted it darkened and shaded, no more then 30 mins to an hour of work and they wanted to book me two weeks out when they had people who were available Avandia jus sitting there. The place was dirty and smelled bad. Lol while I was waiting I spoke to someone who had a Groupon and said that people who were close friends with these people put 5 star ratings on line and lied . This place reached out to Groupon for a reason. Very unprofessional and not good artist at all. They even have someone in there who I knew and is addicted to Oxe and coke lol needless to say I got a refund from Groupon. Please dont waste your time with this place !

Today I went in to get my first tattoo and Jay was my artist. I cannot tell you how surprised I was with the design, these guys defiantly know what they are doing. With respect to my requirements and tattoo fundamentals Jay had created a sweet and sensitive piece of art. They are very clean and treat customers with respect, of course being my first tattoo I was nervous. All effort from Derm F/X party was shown in the relieving me of my worries and fears. Classy, hip and hard rock describes the features of the inside. Show casing artists characters, personality and art work. I am defiantly coming back to this particular shop in the near future and have recommended them already. Oh and dont forget, tips make it hurt less.. lol it was a sign I saw.. these guys are a class act!

My review is for Cody. As a Relationship Banker, I deal with customers everyday and I always make them as my number one priority. As for cody, Ive never met anyone so unprofessional like him. He treats his customers like crap. It took him a good two weeks to reply to my email before he could schedule my appointment. He replied to my email by text, then next thing I know, he got upset because I tried to text him using the same number to contact him. I had to reschedule due to a changed of schedule at work, he basically was not answering me and finally he sent me a very upsetting text saying not to contact him because its his personal phone. I definitely wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.

Um this place is horrible and should be burned down. Got my first tattoo here. It was a chest piece. Scotty drew it up and it came out perfect so I said lets do it. Well lets just say he seems to only be a decent artist on paper because when he tattooed it on me, it looked nothing like the drawing and Im stuck with it for life. He scarred me badly and my chest was bruised for 2weeks. Its not even finished and everytime I went in to finish it, he was too busy with other clients. I highly suggest action tattoo or paradox tattoo if you want quality work you can count on. Cause not only do I have this piece of crap on my chest, its gonna cost a fortune to cover it up. Do not go here.
