Ill start my review with the bad, and bring Sweet City Desserts back up from there. I ordered the Ube cupcake, because Id never seen that cupcake flavor before, and thought it sounded interesting. It turned out to be disgusting. I dont think it had anything to do with the Ube, it was just the driest cupcake Ive ever had. It tasted like it just came out of the fridge after being in there for at least a week. My cupcake had to have just came out from the fridge, because the frosting was so cold and hard, I could literally lift the frosting off of the cupcake. I dont recall this happening with CakeLove cupcakes, even though they are sure to make you aware that the cupcake should sit at room temperature for 20 or so minutes. Even though Sweet City Desserts did not specifically state that I should not eat my cupcake immediately, I sat in their establishment for a good 30 minutes, tearing my cupcake into pieces, trying to "knead" it and soften it up, but it never tasted anything less than disgusting. That was the biggest disappointment ever. On the bright side, my friend ordered a Red Velvet Mousse Cake, which was nice and creamy, basically the complete opposite of my cupcake. I clearly made the wrong decision when ordering. I also ordered a Mango Mousse Shooter, which was the saving grace to my order. Mango anything always saves the day. I really do love this space. I would definitely come here to just hang out on the couches and kill time. If I hadnt tried the Ube cupcake, I may have given this place 5 stars because I love this space that much, but I just cant get over how sad that cupcake made me feel that day. Ill just make sure to never order another item that doesnt have Mousse as an ingredient.

Ive been looking for a Filipino bakery so that I dont have to go all the way to Red Ribbon in VA Beach. First off, I called to ask if I can buy "slices" of mango, ube cakes and Sans Rival so that if I like it, Id order the whole cakes. The Manager said that "thats considered tasting and they only do tasting for orders of 50 people or over. (Its not "tasting" if Im paying for the slices, which I planned on doing, correct?) However, they have Sans Rival in slices and the mango and ube come in "cup cakes" which is "pretty much the same thing" according to her. There was no UBE cupcake, just an UBE-Macapuno which was delicious! However, the Mango cupcake had no mango and tasted like LEMON. The Sans Rival was the biggest disappointment: not only was the "tiny" slice $5.99, but it was not authentic. An authentic Sans Rival uses pure butter, not icing, so that you literally feel like having a heart attack while youre eating it! I wish my Grandma was still alive because according to my Mom, she made the best Sans Rival in her Albay province. So far you still have to travel to Virginia Beach, New Jersey or San Francisco to taste REAL Mango Cake and Sans Rival. For now, IF Im in the Vienna Area, I will just buy their Ube-Macapuno cupcake and perhaps their European cakes which Im hoping is their specialty, because Filipino is not.

Sweet city desserts is a great place to relax and have a sweet dessert. The aroma of fresh smelling desserts mixed in with Filipino delicacys hit your senses as you walk in. The sweets are warm and very inexpensive. Customer service is very intimate and welcoming. They offer advice how to handle your sweets when you head home. They also have a good selection of coffee iced or hot. Sweet city desserts is a great place to hang out and relax, i would recommend this to anyone looking for dessert.

I ordered 40 assorted cupcakes to serve as dessert at my dads 80th birthday party. They were beautifully presented and they tasted incredibly delicious!! Red velvet, German chocolate were a hit but all flavor were a hit. Very nice people work there and the cupcakes were a really nice size with lots of yummy icing. They also serve afternoon tea at the store. Cant wait to go back! Excellent.value for flavor and money spent compared to other local bakeries.

Id stop by at least once a week just for their chocolate chip cookies when I lived in Vienna. I have yet to find better cookies in the entire DC area, their other desserts will blow you away too. The staff was always friendly, and the owner is so full of joy and kindness that I always looked forward to coming. I can not recommend this place enough.

Hard to find, but well-worth the search. The ability to create a moist cupcake is an art and Sweet City has truly mastered it! I thought the shop was clean and inviting and I loved learning about Thai coconut included in one of the cupcakes. The custom event cakes were works of art, as well. Next time youre in Vienna check this place out.

Ive been to Sweet City Desserts a number of times. Its a great place for a business meeting or for dessert with a friend. Ive tried their coffee and desserts which are priced reasonably. The quality and selection of the baked items are amazing. I have also attended an event they catered and I was not disappointed in the food.

This is the best cake house in the area. We love all the pastries that they bake and the atmosphere of the place is very comforting and nice, reminds me of my grandmother baking cookies for us when we were kids!

Very friendly staff that explained what some of the unfamiliar desserts and flavors were like, and our passionfruit chocolate cake was very tasty. A little pricey overall, but ultimately we enjoyed it!
