THIS IS A THUMBS DOWN REVIEW !!! Visit to CB Sterling, VA location on 5-5-17 at around 8:30 pm. WORST SERVICE & EXPERIENCE weve ever had at any CB! After our party of 4 waiting about 10 + minutes to order 2 meat loaf dins, 1 County Chef salad, 1 breakfast item, we waited another 20 minutes to get our orders served. ONLY after waiting all that time did the waitress inform us that there was no meat loaf left. It is not reasonable to take that long to tell patrons they need to select other food. Then, after all was served, they informed us there was no Turkey for the Country Chef salad! They offer a substitute, then screwed up and charged us an additional $5.99 plus tax for the substituted item! Where was the $$ Credit on the bill for the Turkey I paid for as part of the salad? NO. RECAP; CB Sterling staff (server, management, food prep) delivered totally screwed up dinners (3 of the 4 dinners ordered) from top to bottom, and they want me to come back if I want to get the $5.99 overcharge on my bill. DO NOT USE THIS CB STERLING LOCATION !!!!!!!!!! 5-6-17 - FOLLOWUP: Followed up on my contact with the store about this issue, and to get the refund on the overcharge The store manager issued an apology to me, $ refund for the cost of the salad, and certificate. Nice, but to my family, the bar has been set very low for this location.

After reading through the reviews, I noticed quite a few similarities. Worst Service Ever in Sterling! Others CB we have been to are wonderful! So what is going on here? Sterling Va. CB is a disgrace! We were seated immediately, then IGNORED time and time again. Only when we prepared to up and leave after waiting 50 minutes and no dinner did service arrive! Bad Management, worse Server! Exceptionally poor service. We, a family of 4 (parents and two elementary school children .7:00 on Sunday and restaurant was quite empty. We waited nearly 15 minutes for a server. Waited another 10 minutes before drinks came. (Many empty tables in our section).Again server disappeared we had to request, after another 15 minutes that someone take our order. Finally, server stopped by to take order. After another 40 minutes she stopped by to refill drinks, but never mentioned our order or offered explanation as to why the hang up, nor did she offer any sustenance, like biscuits. As we readied to call it quits, the order arrived! Thank Goodness the kids had become cranky and we were exasperated. The inattention of our So-Called Server was disgraceful! And she NEVER OFFERED an explainatiom or apology for the series of delays. BIG ZERO! I hope she gets fired!!

My husband and I went here with my best friend today and honestly it was some of the worst service ever. It took almost 10 minutes for our server to even come greet us at the table and get drink orders, and any request was another few minutes wait at least with half of the request often forgotten. My friends sausage was burnt on the underside and her pancakes were cold. My husbands and my French toast were also pretty much cold, the syrup was not warm, and half of my bacon was beyond crispy. It took forever to get a water refill. And even once all of that was over, we had another ordeal when we went to go pay at the front. The woman was rude to my friend especially, demanding that she swipe her card repeatedly, even as my friend tried to explain that the card machine was saying to wait on the hostess to approve the transaction. I have liked many a Cracker Barrel and they were a family favorite as I grew up. This was a huge disappointment and very frustrating.

Service was fine, I didnt expect a 5 star experience, the food however was a catastrophe. Ordered the catfish, I love catfish, I expected to get catfish. Instead I received some fried batter that contained a small chunk of what I assume at one point was catfish. The hard fried lumps about the size of a large green bean, I got 4 of them, tasted like it had been sitting out for hours waiting for someone to order it. I feel a bit sick after eating there. The staff offered to comp the meal, I appreciate the sentiment but I didnt want a free dinner, just a tasty one. The greens had chunks of ham; that would be absolutely fine other than the fact it was a Friday and the point of going to a fish fry is not to eat "meat" for religious observation, which again would be fine if the menu mentioned anything about it having ham which it failed to do. So in the end I had a mostly inedible meal served to me that I ate anyway. Very disappointing.

By far the worst service on the planet. I have eaten at Cracker Barrel for years and this one has fallen apart. When they first opened the service was outstanding but over the past few months it has gone way down hill. none of the servers say "excuse me" and just cut you off. This morning we ate breakfast and as always left a nice tip in cash on the table and then went to the front to pay. While we were filling out the credit slip I wrote a zero in the tip area because I left cash. The girl behind the counter named Mischelle looked at us and said with a smart ass voice "Really no tip". how dare you. Cracker Barrel has been the staple of southern hospitality but not this one. How rude. It upset me so much I almost went back to the table to get my cash back but didnt. It has become clear that customer service is not high on their list.

I hadnt been to Cracker Barrel for years due to past negative experiences. Decided to try it again tonight because circumstances brought me close to their Sterling location. To my surprise, tonights experience was rather positive. Service was very polite and charming. I wasnt so sure about the food because Ive had better country-style cooking. However, prices seem a whole lot more reasonable than most other restaurants in the DC Metro area. My one gripe is you have to walk through the "old country store" to get to the restaurant area and that could lead to some impulse purchases.

The Cracker Barrel still has a little way to go to be one of the better ones. Weve been here several times the foods rarely consistent. The last 2 times the biscuits are hard as rocks and cornbread wasnt much better. We get cold fries or sides werent right. I have the can shift to be a little better. In the past weve picked up orders to go and they had them messed up, I was still giving them 3 stars because theres staff tries. The places is always clean and you usually get seated right away, unless its weekend or certain evenings. The price is reasonable for what you get.

Came here for a quick breakfast while working in the area. We ordered the Old Timers breakfast and the double meat pancake breakfast. My pancakes were delicious cooked with a little crust on both sides. Our over easy eggs were cooked well. Only issue were the biscuits and bacon were super dry. I drank 2 cups of water. If your in the area and want something cheap check out Cracker. But if you want something with a little more quality try elsewhere.
