Patrick Henry Mall is a place Ive been frequenting for about 2 decades. In the past decade, theyve really updated the look and feel of the mall. Newer restaurants and stores have moved in and brought some life to it. That being said, most of the stores seem to be struggling. The mall attracts a lot of the local youth for better or for worse, and it seems to be getting a more negative reputation in the community. I tend to appreciate the selection of stores and restaurants offered, as well as the fact that it is built in the style of a traditional indoor mall. If you are looking for a certain "mall" store, Patrick Henry probably has you covered.

This is the only decent indoor play area I can find on this side of the water. the kids play area is located near the food court and restrooms, conveniently. The play area is really creative and interactive and can be enjoyed from a wide range of kids ages. the only thing I dont like is the opening to the play area is very wide. if you look away for 2 seconds, kids could escape easily as the walls to the play area are solid and taller than most kids that play there. Some sort of gate for parents would be very useful.

Years ago, this mall was actually quite nice. Then Coliseum Mall in Hampton closed down and became Peninsula Town Center. Now, all of the troublesome people from there come to Patrick Henry. The stores are all of the same, the food court can only be described as "meh", and ever since PREIT took over ownership, mall management only seems to care about themselves. Do yourself a favor and go over to Southside and shop at either MacArthur or Lynnhaven if you absolutely must go to a mall.

I love the mall however sakura express has "fresh made" food. The plate I got the rice was mush due to it being over cooked the "chicken" was hunks of fat and gristle, absolutely gross. Then as if that wasnt enough they refused to refund my $12 for a meal advertised as $6.99, and asked if I wanted them to microwave it because they wont give a refund. The people are rude and the food is crap. Wont be trying their stuff again.

I used to work here. Way before and after it had been a semi-normal hangout spot. I like the mall but theres really not much to it compared to most malls. There are things with certain stores that really standout, but it doesnt quite do it for me as a mall Ive seen better. But overall the mall itself aside from the stores is okay I just feel like they could add more to it to make it feel more natural or immersive.

Decent shops, but the Food Court needs an overhaul. Knockout Burger needs to go, as does the idiotic hat store and phone store wasting space in the food court. There are at least 2 spots where more food business could go, plus those three the need to be relplaced, and plenty of space in the rest of the mall for non-food businesses. Google maps has most of the stores in the wrong locations, do not believe it.

the management at Patrick Henry is a joke. I have called up there for almost 2 weeks just trying to speak to a manager. Everytime shes either out or not seeing people. So the receptionist takes my number multiple times and gave it to her. I even went in person to see if that would be better, and it wasnt. She just told me to leave my name and number again so I did. I still have yet have been reached out to.

We went on a Friday early in the evening. Not very busy compared to the time last yr we came on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Didnt come across one unfriendly associate thru the whole mall. We shopped at a couple of stores whose employees were very high spirited. We even stopped at the body piercing shop for some piercings! Awesome staff there! Will visit this place again in the future.

After several fights and thefts, the mall decided to bring in some of Newport News finest to patrol and enforce more rules. Such as no groups of mixed ethnicity of over 4 people. If you try to still be with your friends while following the rule, they will get more cops and wait outside of the stores to harass you. Will not shop here again

Art HomeBound

Yes its just a plain mall, but no different than most. Yes crowded with kids, this is a military area. The parents drop the kids off to "play" or be "social", as if there is nothing else for them to do. If you go in before late afternoon you beat the kiddy rush and get to enjoy all the shopping this one level mall has to offer.

The mall itself is nice and the stores are well maintained but the bathrooms are absolutely appalling. They smell terrible, there are roaches scurrying across the floor, pee was on all of the floors or the toilets were leaking, and all but one soap dispenser was empty. All of the employees I encountered were pleasant though.

Its ok but be careful while you are there. Not all the people who frequent that mall are often mischief inspired trouble makers. There have been occasions when the kids have gotten out of control and the police had the mall shut down early. Personally, I have not experienced these events but I dont usually go there.

This is a good mall but I recently came across a scam artist who seems to roam the mall frequently. He pretends like hes selling phones and tries to take your money, BE CAREFUL do not fall for his tricks, they need to kick him out of there. PHM is a place for families to shop and enjoy themselves not be robbed

It has been revamped with in the last few years. There is a variety of stores for everyone. The food court is plenty. The people who maintain the cleanliness do a good job. It is pretty safe, but every now and then you get a rowdy bunch but mostly teens. There is a curfew set to try and prevent that.

Go here! This seems the last traditional mall in the area. It has absolutely everything did I mention Auntie Annes. It was a lot of people there but it didnt feel like it was crowded or packed. It makes for a great day out. While there rent an animal ride 250lbs and under and zip around the mall.

Not as great as MacArthur but a decent variety of shops. Ive noticed a lot of young kids starting trouble and when I was here Monday 12/26 several fights broke out. Typically I come in the morning when I shop to avoid any riff-raff. Unfortunately this mall does not allow open carry.

I do recommend them all but I do not recommend the people that go there they are very sketchy people but the stores are wonderful the people that work there cool. I would recommend going on a weekday due to all the young people and troublemakers that hang out there on the weekend.

A very nice, safe mall. All of the variety you can imagine, nice kiosks with cell phone repair available. There is even a shoe/athletic store that has a size LARGER than mens 12!! Rare in a mall. I wear 14s. Trust me. Great place to eat and shop. Still has a music store.
