I bought a new house and was somewhat overwhelmed with the thought of furnishing it. I visited the local "big" stores and received no help whatsoever. I happened to drive past North Carolina Furniture and Mattress and turned around to check it out. When I went in, I was treated like family. Literally, this is a FAMILY business. Katherine helped me every step of the way. The quality of the furniture they carry is second to none and they can meet just about every budget. I ended up furnishing my entire house from North Carolina Furniture and Mattress. The furniture arrived as promised and the delivery man Al is an awesome individual. He stayed in my home for almost three hours making sure all the furniture was assembled correctly and placed where I wanted it. A few years later, I need furniture for my business and returned to the store. I met more of the family, Elizabeth, Lloyd and Anne. From day one, I felt like more than a customer. In fact, my parents, who live in Michigan, bought two Stressless chairs from the store without even visiting Virginia. The delivery was flawless! I just returned to look for a new mattress and was assisted by Laura. She spent almost three hours with me! She was so knowledgable and patient. She answered ALL of my questions. Needless to say, I am a customer for life! If you dont visit North Carolina Furniture and Mattress, you are missing the greatest value and customer service in Hampton Roads. They also offer design services by two of the best designers in this area. DO NOT BUY FURNITURE WITHOUT VISITING THIS STORE!!!!!!!

My husband and I looked at many places on the Peninsula for living room furniture, only to realize that what we needed was right in our own neighborhood, North Carolina Furniture and Mattress. This is the best quality furniture and NC Furniture has the most knowledgeable staff about their products. We referred our co-worker there and he and his wife purchased all their new living room furniture from them. Katherine was our sale person and she really made us understand the inner workings of the Flex Steel furniture which we appreciated. No other sales person in a furniture place ever was that knowledgeable and understood all the features of the product. This is a family business and we felt like we were a part of their family. I will always go back to NC Furniture for ALL of my furniture needs, without having to venture to other stores with sales people that really dont know their products. I give them 5 stars because they really came through for us.

My Wife and I made plans to redo our living room, dining room and hallway. All were carpeted and we wanted to see if the hardwood underneath could be refinished. All furniture and carpet was removed and we decided to go with the refinished floors. The living room furniture was old and had to be replaced. We had friends recommend North Carolina Furniture and went to meet with Katherine. After three hours we purchased a couch, love seat, swivel glider chair, TV table, coffee table and three end tables. Then for the hardwood floors, we picked out three area rugs to be custom manufactured for the living room, dining room and hallway. Katherine and the rest of the staff were experts in assisting us with decisions, colors and styles for all of the items and our remodel is complete and we love it! We went to one place, North Carolina Furniture, and found much more than we could have asked for. I highly recommend them for your home furnishing needs.

The dining room table and chairs I bought years ago still reflect my style and taste and look as though I bought them yesterday. My most recent purchase was a Flexsteel sofa which I adore! EXCELLENT STAFF AND EXCEPTIONAL FURNITURE!!! My wife and I looked all over for a dinning room set and could not find exactly what we wanted until we found North Carolina Furniture and Mattress. The employees at NC Furniture are all very courteous and knowledgeable and were extremely helpful in getting us what we wanted. After looking around the store we did not see what we were looking for so one of the employees sat down with us and we built a digital model of what we wanted, a couple of months later it showed up at our door.
