Kroger on Atlee Road in Mechanicsville is one of the best grocery stores I have ever been to. Kroger is my favorite store for many reasons. They have the best food varieties and they have all you need in one store such as clothes, cosmetics, household items, toys, baby stuff, pharmacy and much more. This particular store has great customer service which makes them stand out from all the others. They also have great deals, coupons and many more perks you can only find at Kroger. I am a mother of two and come to this Kroger at least twice a week. Kroger has the best varieties in food and they have the best prices. I started couponing a couple months ago and I have saved so much money. They have great deals such as buy 5 items and save $5 on certain foods. They always have good deals and have the lowest prices on food compared to other grocery stores. Another favorite thing I love is their produce. I love to eat healthy and they have a great organic section and at a great price. Their store brand is actually pretty good too and at a cheaper price. They have a salad and sushi bar and I personally love their sushi compared to other grocery store sushi. They have fresh fish and meat that you can pick out to your liking. They also have great deals on chicken and steak. Everything is fresh and when I buy produce, dairy, or meat it doesnt go bad in 2 days which I have had a problem with at other grocery stores. The best thing is that I always feel like I save money and leave with my moneys worth. There hasnt been a time that I go to Kroger and the customer service wasnt exceptional. The employees are always very friendly and helpful. They greet you when you walk by them and always ask if you need help with anything. They have given my children balloons and stickers and always engage in a conversation. I have had to return items before and lost my receipt and they gave me a store gift card. One time I forgot my debit card and didnt have enough money to pay for my groceries and the cashier was so nice and made me feel very comfortable at a very embarrassing time. They also always have lots of registers open so you dont have to ever wait in line which I find is a huge issue at other stores. They always help you bring your groceries to your vehicle and load them and take the shopping cart back. There are always store associates all throughout the store and if you cant find something or have a question you dont have to search all over the place to find someone for help. This Krogers customer service exceeds my expectations and that is the reason I keep coming back to do my weekly shopping. Kroger has great perks such as front parking with children, the consistent coupons you get, their gas points and much more. I have two children and trying to get from the parking lot to the store is a hassle or from the store to your vehicle. So, Kroger has front parking spots not only for handicapped but for shoppers with children. Yeah you might think even with them having this there is still never a parking space available even for the reserved with children space, but there is surprisingly.

This store certainly has enough inventory, and they usually have enough people working that are willing to help you find something. However, they remodeled the store to turn it into a super Kroger, or some such name, and we have now all but stopped going there. Today was just another reminder why... I needed a haircut so we went to the Great Clips nearby, and decided to shop at Kroger since in the area. We headed into the store with our grocery list, and had to travel all over Timbuktu to get what we needed. It seems as if they have purposefully spread out the necessities across the massive expanse of the floor in order to force you to checkout the other items too, like cheap clothing and other Walmart-like offerings. What happened to the days when the basics like bread, milk and water were in moderately close proximity? I can say that, since the last time we tried shopping here, the checkout lines seem to have diminished with what seems to be an increase in the number of cashier lanes open and an increase in the number of baggers. Thats a goof thing and we hope it is at all hours; is the reason we gave the store three stars instead of two stars. Nice also that the produce, sushi, Starbucks, fried chicken, wine and deli sections are near the main entrance door... all generally things that we might need to get quickly and then get back out. The remodeled wine & beer section seems to take up about 1/5th of the entire floor plan! Nice selection for sure, but I guess that tells ya something about the corporate philosophy and what they think of the local community. Yes, we do miss Ukrops now Fort the most part we have been drive to the simple experience of going to the under-inventoried Food Lion stores or the warehouse-feeling Martins on Brook Road. Cant wait for Publix to come in and provide a good, customer-focused grocery experience for the area again.

Employees are either awful (not knowledgeable, act like youre bothering them) or overly helpful (no, I dont need help to my car with one bag, thanks). Produce isnt great, lots of flies that come home with me, annoyingly. Deli can be painfully slow, so use the kiosk. Bought something there and got home to realize it had literally expired a year prior. The home goods section would be nice if anything were priced reasonably Basically I only go here because its the only option within a reasonable distance of my house.

I love their selection but almost always end up bagging my own groceries or wishing I had. On one occasion they put canned goods in the San bag with my doughnuts. When I called to bring this to their attention the solution they offered was for me.to return to the store and they would replace the doughnuts and give me a $5 gift card. No thanks. How bout you do a better job of training your employees. I rarely visit this location now. It used to be the only place.I went.

This store has been in a steady decline for customer service in the last year. The baggers love to put one item in a bag. They NEVER offer to take out your groceries, even if you have a large order. They barely thank you for your service. They just look at you with contempt most of the time. The cashiers are nice most of the time, but the bagging experience alone is making me excited about Publix. I always leave angry when I shop at this location.

To everyone raving about this stores cleanliness, see the photo I posted of the disgusting shelves in the snack aisle. Its not a terrible store... but the extra offerings in "Marketplace" are not helpful except for cards and gift wrap. I live around the corner but only come here for essentials... the Wegmans in Short Pump is better in every way (prices, selection, produce, quality employees...and cleanliness).

The store is always very clean and the staff is friendly. They are always willing to stop what they are doing to help out their customer. It is a very busy store during peak hours, so going at another time is better for you if you dont like packed aisles. Because they are such a busy location its good to go before the weekend or after theyve restocked otherwise, some product may be out.
