In December, my husband and I decided to pay a visit to the Bova furniture store in Arlington. We looked around and we found a sofa we both could agree on and were told, that we could expect delivery in about 8 weeks. We paid our down payment and went home thinking we would at least get to spend one month on our new sofa in front of the fireplace. (That is, were it was supposed to go...) February came and went and with it some snow storms of considerable magnitude. Times, where some cozy reading time in front of the fireplace would have been quite nice. Sitting on the floor reading is for younger people and we have outgrown that age. March came and went........ still no sofa. In the meantime I put some not-so-nice-looking chairs in the living room just to make it appear not too empty. Something to be said about minimalism, but not really my thing. Finally - after numerous annoying phone calls and talking to people who do not really have their customers well being in mind, our sofa finally showed up on Aprils fool day. What a coincidence ! After the delivery guys trampled all over my shrubs, they finally managed to get the sofa through the front door, not without leaving a scratch in the leather and bending one of the legs slightly to one side. (I let it go, really - after months of waiting who cares about a bent leg ? I hope I can hammer it straight again....) I wanted to pay via check. (Most people do upon delivery, dont they ? ) I was told that they only take cash or credit card. At that point I should have told them to take the sofa and leave, but Im at a point where I just want this ordeal to be over with. The guy wants to disappear outside with my credit card, whereupon I had all kinds of fraud alarms going off in my head. (Call me paranoid !) He used my phone and called in my credit card number (HUH ?) to some person somewhere. I asked for a receipt. Wouldnt you ? To my astonishment: I didnt get one ! Here I paid over a thousand dollars with my credit card and no receipt ? ? ? This was the first and will be the last time I conducted business with this firm ! Also, I dont like to be called by my first name and "hon", when talking to a sales representative. Call me arrogant or old fashioned, but I cant remember being on a first name basis with them.

I am honestly surprised by the number of bad reviews at this furniture store. I have been to quite a few in the area -- and for the price the service and selection is excellent. Bova is a contemporary furniture store, so dont expect traditional styles here. I have found the pricing to be reasonable especially if you stick to purchasing around their sales (memorial day, labor day, christmas, etc) PRO: solid contemporary selection of items you are hard pressed to find elsewhere CON: I have known people to have trouble with the people who assemble the furniture so beware. In fact, when I purchased my couch here, the movers were not trained in how to put it together -- so thats definitely a problem.

I purchased a sofa from Bova Furniture. I asked the salesperson who sold me the sofa to provide me with a written warranty so that I can register and get an additional year of coverage at no additional cost from Visa Warranty Manager. She told me how long the warranty lasts, but she did not give a copy. She eventually stopped responding to my messages. After I filed a complaint with the BBB, someone from the store is now telling me that no such written warranty is available. As I result, I lost out on the second year of coverage from Visa.

I have bought two complete bedroom sets from Bova Contemporary. All of the salespeople were friendly and helpful. They delivered all furniture as promised - sometimes even a little early. And, most importantly, I love, love, love the furniture. It is high quality and, well, gorgeous. I highly recommend this store to those of you who love contemporary furniture.

If you like modern furniture, not sure there is a better place with a greater quality selection. However, their customer service is downright awful. They makes promises they dont keep. They dont call you when they say they will. And, ordered furniture takes twice as long to arrive as what was quoted. Almost made my purchase not worth it.

Nice furniture, however, before venturing in be aware, lead time for sofas is between 4-5 MONTHS. As the have to "ship" the pieces from point of manufacture only after you place you order. If you can wait for 4-5 months go ahead, take the time to visit the place, if not, do not waste your time and look at other options.

Great selection of stylish furniture, but will give the uninitiated a bit of sticker shock. This is a g place if you understand what youre paying for - style and comfortable modern furniture.

I am giving it a two star for price. Very expensive place. But they have amazing furniture. Small dinning table for 4 is priced at $1600. If you got like that this place is for you.
