I would like to start by saying I dont enjoy writing negative reviews unless the experience was horrific. I recently came in with an open attitude/mind since this optometrist had great reviews. It was the complete opposite. As usual like any doctors appointment, the expected wait was 30 mins past my appt. time (not a big deal) but the thing that I don’t understand is how you can advertise a “comprehensive exam” but have it last 10 mins… During my exam it seemed very rushed with little eye test and the doctor speeding through my questions as if he had to be somewhere. After the exam the receptionist had said I owed $89 dollars for the contacts exam (this is plus my insurance). Mind you I had called in/asked for the comprehensive exam for glasses that was $59 and $225 credit towards new glasses (the whole point I came in). She said that’s not what I just examined for and the best they could do was replace my lenses on my old frame for $150 more. At this point I was furious because I did not need new contacts and my old frame did not fit. Another thing that led me to this optometry practice was their heavy promotions on the Ray-Ban brand. As I walked back and forth through their selection I found 1 pair of glasses with this brand. The rest seemed outdated and not appealing to the new style/ younger generations. The entire selection of frames was all similar to each other. The attitude of the doctor and receptionist were also terrible. It felt as though they didn’t care for your well-being and see you for your money. If you are looking for an optometrist I highly recommend going somewhere else. Like I mentioned earlier, I went in with no expectations especially since I haven’t been to the eye doctors in a few years.

I have been to this place a few times and each time, my experience kept getting worse. First time I went in for my glass eye exam, and Dr. Chitwal rushed through it and finished it within 5 mins. He did not even inform me that I had an updated prescription and needed to get new glasses, which I came to know from the receptionist. When I told her that I did not want to buy glasses from them, she was really rude after that. Second time, I took my brother for the eye exam, and the doctor did not even do the eye exam correctly, and gave him a WRONG prescription, which he realized after he already spent money on his new glasses. When we complained about it, they tried to put the blame on us because we did not get the glasses from them. He spent more money on getting another eye exam done at Walmart and new pair of glasses. From the rude Asian receptionist to inexperienced doctors, my experiences at this place have been horrible and waste of money.

The Doctor has a great disposition and does his job well. I never had such a quick AND accurate eye exam in... ever? This prize of the office is his office staff though. I kept having one issue after other. With the insurance, flex medical card, and other things. They never showed annoyance and handled it like pros. I would love to go into detail about how much they went above and beyond but this is getting long enough as it is. On top of all that, turns out there is a closer office to me and they put in my order to be picked up there so I wouldnt have to drive all the way back. With or without a groupon this is a great place for your eyewear needs. Ill be taking my son in soon for their kids special: 2 glasses for $129, for less than the price of one I have his glasses and his spare ready to go. Thank again for everything!

my experience was efficient both cost and timewise. when i came in i was in a pretty big rush because i forgot to get my wifes birthday gift :/ I let the staff know i was in a hurry and they were very helpful! we were able to choose out some awesome frames and price everything out while I waited to be seen. The manager was kind enough to let the doctor know i was in a hurry and he was able to take care of me fast and well. they were able to get me the premium coating (def worth the $) and nice marc jacob frames for less than I spent on no-name brand glasses the last place i went. AND the guy who makes the glasses fixed my sunglasses for free while i was in my exam! I highly recommend this place if you want to save money and are in a time crunch!

Absolutely terrible service. I went here with my family about a week ago and we were basically trampled as soon as we walked in. First I got snared at by the customer service area desk. I was thrilled I needed glasses and I had been waiting so long to receive them, I came in with the expectation to spend a lot on my glasses but the Doctor himself acted as if he didnt know what was going on and kept pitching me more and more deals, basically stuffing them down my throat trying to get me to bite onto one and spend too much. I refused and he kept saying that I wouldnt be getting the best service as if he wasnt trying his hardest because after I told him no he completely gave up and halfassed everything. 1/10.

Definitely not a great place to order contact lens. Be forewarned, they have two locations w/ minimal interoffice communication. I originally went to the Fairfax location 1 and a half months ago but was told that I needed to pick it up in Tysons Corner. I settle for contacts because I was told there was a free shipping for a year supply so despite being told to pick up, I opted to have it mailed out. Waited 2 weeks, followed-up, repeat.. flashback to current and Im still missing my contact lenses. I settled for having them ship to the Fairfax location for pick-up,but guess what? They are unable to find my order in any of the location and are looking at maybe doing this roller coaster all-over again .

I am so impressed by Dr. Ashish Chhitwal and his team. My son received glasses for the first time and I got new contacts. From the reservation call, front desk, customer service and the doctor, we got excellent service! In my 17 years of wearing contacts, Ive never have seen as clearly as I do now. I am forever grateful to Dr. Chhitwal. Everyone was patient with my 9 year old son as he chose glasses. They praised him and told him how great and trendy he looked. It really gave him a boost. Helping a child feel confident is definitely a gift and this place has it. Please, I highly recommend Visual Health in Fairfax, Va. You will not be disappointed, I promise!

Nice new store! Ive always loved there frame selections even when I used to go to their old location but I think their new store makes it look even better. The new spot is literally across the parking lot but when I went in I felt like I was at some fancy boutique. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that they gave me the same deal as last year but I got to choose from even nicer brands. I definitely recommend this store because its a perfect happy medium from the overpriced snobby stores and the garbage "its too good to be true" cheap places that are flooding the area. congrats on the new office guys!! see you next year, Regi
