On the realest, I shop here on a weekly basis. Depending on the day you go, you may wait 1-2 minutes in line or 5-10. In Charlottesville, its a must to plan around the crowd. I will explain one of my recent negative experiences to ensure others do not waste their money when receiving horrible service. My partner and I had used the same cart to load our groceries and while approaching the "about 15 items" line, we were confronted by an employee working the lane. She repeatedly shouted "15 items or less" which is not what the sign says. I stared at her while she repeated it 3-4 more times. My partner and I relocated to a longer line and after I realized my bill included 16 items and his included 6 more, we went to customer service. The customer service guy Chris Brown handled the situation perfectly! He noticed the essential problem right of the bar without explanation. He told me he apologised for the service I was provided and that the employee should have known it was "about 15" rather than "25 or less". I told him that I would leave my $150+ worth of perishables with him and I would try again the next week. I was pleased with the outcome considering not many people my age handle customer service as he did. Regardless of who you are, if you experience horrible service NEVER spend money during that visit. They only thing corporations care about is revenue and profit. If they arent getting revenue, they arent getting profit. If they dont receive profit, they know theres a problem and will find out why. I hope the loss of $150+ and the time it took employees to put the merchandise back will add to the collective resistance of bad service noticable. Other than that, the associated are always helpful and polite. Remember, use the only power you as a consumer has; your money.

This Kroger gives Krogers a bad name. It is in an awkward location between to other great Krogers. I believe for this reason, they do not keep fresh veggies stocked. I can never rely on this store to have essentials like cilantro if I need to make a quick trip while cooking. Also, their produce is sometimes old, and tends to go bad quicker than usual. I will say that although the store struggles with stock, the employees are friendly and Ive had no issues there.

Ugh! Since Wegmans opened, I dont frequent Krogers too often. Not that its all that bad. However, I did stop by a couple days ago for a few things. The T-bones looked especially good, until I got them home. The top steak has a beautiful filet, but the one underneath appears to have been strategically placed to hide the lack of a filet. Thats just plain dishonest. Feels like something Food Lion would do. Fool me once... Back to Wegmans.

I like Kroger. Im relatively new to them, since coming to VA in July, but its mindful of airy space, fresh food, clean floors, and strong service. While I really enjoyed the superstores in NJ, like World Class Shop Rites, where cigar stores, pizza shops, and Sushi bars were all present, I still enjoy the more traditional approach by Kroger. Its our go-to place for weekly groceries, and Im never disappointed with price, options, or quality.

Renovations were completed several months ago, bringing the aesthetics and layout of the store more in line of what most would expect from a modern grocery store. Excellent service from the pharmacy technicians with good hours there on the weekends for those who cant pick up prescriptions during the week. The recent re-opening of the Rt. 29/Rio Rd intersection makes this Kroger location more accessible to most shoppers.

Seemed like I couldnt really stop and shop someone was always behind me trying to push thru. Tried to get a shoppers card and there was a line at the customer service and only one person behind the counter. Purchased Starbucks and had to wait till the conversation with employees were over.

Im very glad you once again have frozen sugar snap peas and WINK!! The service at the self checkout register was also friendly and helpful. I do wish Kroger carried Prego spaghetti sauce in tomato basil and KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce on Hickory Brown Sugar and Olivia spreadable margarine

Lousiest cust service ever -- everyones scowling -- not 1 smiling face! Staff unpacking boxes everywhere -- asked for help, told to wait 10 min?! I blame mgmt-- teach cust service skills, dont browbeat staff to meet some stocking quota!!

I havent been here in a while. They have completely renovated the store. Its really nice now. They have a large selection of natural/healthy foods. If it wasnt so far from where I live I would shop here more often!

I only go there when i am in town. My go to store is food loin. But for flowers and cheese and wine ... kroger has a bigger service. The prices are higher than the other ones but you get what you pay for.

This is where I do all of my shopping. I choose to go there because the staff is friendly and the layouts just makes sense. And it doesnt hurt that for every $100 its $0.10 off at the gas pump
