I am actually shocked by some of these reviews. I have been coming to the Ludlow shop for YEARS and have never had a bad experience. You are ALWAYS greeted as soon as you enter the shop, which is beautifully kept and always has a wonderful selection of clothing and ski equipment. The girls upstairs are very friendly and actually know what they are talking about when they are selling you something. The rental department seems to hold the bad reputation but I can assure you that it is your attitude that determines the response you get back from these guys. They have always been super pleasant and knowledgeable every single time I have come to rent from them. I dont see how anyone can say these guys are crooks, their rental prices are fair and the equipment is newer and in better condition than anything you would get at the mountain or most neighboring ski shops. I have also never seen a "mark up" on any of their apparel as they keep the suggested retail that the clothing company puts on their tags in plain sight. Things are always on sale in this shop, so in my opinion its a pretty fair price! Dont let these bogus reviews steer you away from Sports Odyssey! It is by far the largest, nicest shop in Ludlow. One stop shop for all of our needs and super close to the mountain.

Our son, a college grad and successful businessman, used to work in this shop. Recently his grandma went into store to buy gifts for 10 grandchildren for next Christmas. Grandma is 74 and still has a season pass to okemo! Yeah grandma! While shopping she needed to use bathroom. And they would not let her. Our grandpa, 76, a retired senior engineer from grumman aerospace asked owner to let her use bathroom. The owner Joe got in grandpa's face and told him to get the hell out of the store and to never come back. Grandma and grandpa were mortified. No surprise. When our son worked their he told us that Joe punched a customer one time. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this dirtbag. Weve been coming to ludlow for 35 years now. Do yourself a favor and go to totem pole ski shop or northern ski works. Rude people suck and these guys are in class of their own. When your employees hate you, you know something is not right.

These reviews are accurate. The owners are by far the worst thing about this store. I have rented several times from them. The first few, help was good, prices were high, equipment was good. I experienced a problem with return the last time there. I called to let them know i was going to be late and asked if I could bring the equipment back before they opened in the morning. They said no.... I still brought the equipment back before they opened and they insisted on charging me a full day use at 8:30am!! The store clerks were afraid to talk to the owner, literally afraid... When i spoke to the owner he said "i would rather lose your continuous business than not charge you for this day". Mission accomplished... DO NOT RENT HERE!

This shop is horrible. Their tuning machine was broken and rendered my skis unworkable and dangerous. I didnt realize this until I got to Mt. Snow. I had them retuned at Mt. Snow and wasted an hour of my ski day. On my way off the mountain, I went back to Sports Odyssey and asked for a refund and they refused. The manager was incredibly disrespectful of the young man who worked for him. The young man admitted that their tuning machine had been acting up and the manager verbally reprimanded the young man for "throwing him under the bus." I am disappointed with the conduct of this shop and will not return. I would recommend finding your skis elsewhere as skis tuned at this shop are dangerous to ski on.

Lived down the street from this place for 10 years (the Mount Snow location) and they never fail to surprise me...they are outright crooks. If it werent for the majority of their customers being from out of town they would never survive. Among many other shady things, they sell equipment that is from the past seasons as if it is the newest model. Sometimes they may be kind enough to slightly discount it, but in reality it should be 40-50% off since there are new models out. However theyll tell you it is this years model. Ive seen it with my own eyes multiple times and heard about it countless others. STAY AWAY!!! Go anywhere else but their two shops...Okemo and Mt Snow.

I have been renting from Sports Odyssey on New Years Eve Weekend for the past 5 years. They are the best! The rental team is eager to get you into the right equipment - rather than move you through the process quickly. They take their time, listen to you, give you options and then give you a great deal! Joe and his team are simply awesome! If you want personal service that is courteous and affordable, this is the ONLY place to rent! Oh, and the fact that they are all funny and always smiling is just an added bonus!!

I rented skis and boots from them for 1 day out, and the service was fantastic. All of the people I met were very friendly and helpful (granted, not the owner as some of the other reviews have mentioned). I also visited during their sale, and agreed that their merchandise is a bit expensive, but the nice lady working the counter helped me pick out some good quality socks and was incredibly patient. I was surprised by some of these reviews because my experience was nothing but pleasant.

This is the BIGGEST rip off shop in the area. They do 50% off (not an up to 50% off sale) everything in the store, then tell you "not on that" once you go to check out. They overprice the items so they can reduce them for a "sale", which makes them still more than you will find elsewhere. The owner, Steve, is a rude liar and shouldnt be in the service business. There are too many other stores that are honest and give real service to their customers. Dont waste your time and money here!!!

I went up to Okemo for Presidents day weekend not expecting to purchase a new set up, but Andrew at this place was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Not only did he teach me about new advances in technology, but he also made sure that I was comfortable and got the best equipment at a great price. All of the other staff also made sure that we were being taken care of. I hardly ever write reviews, but this was an exceptional experience. Thank you Andrew.

OVERPRICED! Do not shop here. I purchased a pair of snow pants and snowboard boots and paid 125.00 more than Okemos ski shop. I called and asked them to match the price and the were rude. I was told if you went to Walmart and purchased milk for 2.00 does that mean we have to charge the same? They also would not let me return or get a credit. I was told it was a final sale. SALE??? BEWARE! I should of read reviews. They are the same complaints.
