Love this cute comic book and character lived coffee shop and cafe! It is open later than a lot of local places around here, it stays open until midnight every night which is neat. They also have boba and tea besides just coffee, and some vegetarian and non vegetarian food options which is nice if you are wanting coffee or going with someone who wants food, they have several options for themselves as well. I like the way this place is decorated and it isnt hard to find on State street. There is a ton of room in this shop so lots of booths, I have never been here and not been able to find somewhere to sit or had to leave because it was too crowded. It is normally super chill and you have several different sots to choose from that you are able to sit at. Nice place to do homework or even just to bring in a book and read because it is quiet and not super crowded so you can go in separate areas from the front part you walk in and wont get distracted if trying to get work or anything like that done in here. Love this Salt Lake gem!

I really enjoy their themed decor but the customer service is complete garbage as of late, theyve stopped selling substantial food (only snacks now), and I wish the owners would institute a better restroom process. The gendered single stall bathrooms are completely unnecessary. Also, the baristas are clearly putout about instituting the current key process, as shown by my experience today. I understand the need for locked bathrooms, however, no customer should be treated like an idiot for returning the key to the wrong place. "Dont put that there! Its a food prep area! Youre gonna have to pick it back up and bring it over here." He says to me with the tone of a recess monitor, as hes putting in an order on the register *while wearing his food prep gloves*. Do not lecture me about food safety while you violate food prep law. There is no possible way for me to determine what the counter areas are for. Totally unacceptable.

Watchtower is the perfect mix between trendy, nerdy, and cozy. It has so many comic book themes and styles and even though Im not super into that sort of thing I absolutely LOVE it! It gives a good vibe and atmosphere to this spacious "hole in the wall" you could probably call it. Good food, good drinks, great coffee, and delicious boba. I love how I late this place is open during the week and weekends. A lot of other coffee spots arent and that makes it so nice for meeting up late somewhere other than a bar and also to study or anything if you need wifi. Comfortable couches and all around very laid back atmosphere and hasnt been crowded the times Ive been here. Ive also had the options available for preference on seating and theres some fun games and reading material to entertain if youre just there to chill.

Best place to study. I love the booths in the private study area. Staff are very friendly and make good recommendations. Yes, it is a pain to have to ask for a key to use the restroom, but if you know anything about the area, you know why it’s a good idea. I’ve walked into restrooms where vagrants are taking a shower in the sink, in nearby establishments. Not this place. One day I did wait a long time for food, because the staff was switching shifts when I placed my order, and the communication was missed. But all of the other times the food and drinks were made quickly after ordering and were tasty. I’ve had some one-offs at this place, but overall it’s great; you have to realize that every business has off days.

I really enjoy coming to this place because my boyfriend and I enjoy certain signature drinks. However, I was told by Caleb that in order to get a bathroom key, you have to order a drink every hour. My boyfriend and I ordered three drinks, one within that hour. My boyfriend used the bathroom before he ordered another drink and was allowed to use the bathroom. I however was denied a bathroom key. For one signature drink, it costs about $8.50 per drink. This is definitely not a standard coffee shop. I was really disappointed and despite my boyfriend and I enjoying the atmosphere, we may not be back. If you have this rule, you may want to know who is in the shop and enforce it with everyone.

This is my new coffee spot in Salt Lake. The people who work here are super friendly and make a good cup of coffee and specialty coffee drinks. There are also great options for snacks and light meals. The place has a very eclectic and comfy ambiance. There are classic scifi movie posters, board games, interesting people, and a whole bunch of comics and action heroes throughout the shop. The place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. There are two good sized rooms in the back - one room has a dozen or so big booths for doing work or gathering with friends and the other has couches and comfy chairs.

It was an okay experience overall.I walked in and was greeted, but waited for about five minuets before i was helped. It appeared another gentlemen had been waiting quiet a while before he got his drink as well. The gentle who helped me was nice but the drink i ordered didnt have much flavor of what i ordered at all. I was expecting a flavorful drink but was left disappointed in the lack of flavor in the Boba I ordered. A lot of other places use fresh fruit but it was just syrup. ice. and milk. For almost 7 dollars youd expect a little more bang for your buck.

Oh my, Watchtower Cafe is one of my favorite places to be! Kirsten is the best, most friendly, and most helpful barista Ive ever met. She is always cheerful and puts everyone around her in a good mood! Dont forget to mention if youre a student. Everything on the drink menu is delicious, and the BLTs are probably the most amazing thing to eat. If youre looking for a fun, nerdy environment with beautiful art, a comic book trade, cheerful employees, and an upbeat atmosphere, come to Watchtower. Its also a perfect place to study ;)

I love the Watchtower Cafe. My friend and I serendipitously stumbled upon this place and were delighted by the delicious coffee, fresh bubble tea, all the comics and just the overall vibe. Its so positive and fun! We also discovered the Escape Room and took our sister and her friend yesterday. We were all surprised by how unique and challenging it was, and had a great time. Our host was enthusiastic, takes a lot of pride in the escape room, and is really keen for his guests to enjoy themselves. I highly recommend it!

Alright place. Coffee was ok. Not great, just ok. Couches could really use a good cleaning, theyre dingy and heavily stained. I wasnt sure I wanted to sit on them. Good selection of comic books to read while you hang out, also a good selection of fun games to play with friends. Service was extremely friendly and prompt, tho, which is what will bring me back to try this place out again.

Im a student at the U of U and this is my go to place to do homework. They have plenty of tables to sit at, and free Wi-Fi. The baristas are really nice and I love their chai tea latte. The atmosphere is really chill and they have great art and nerdy things to buy, see, read (comic books), and play (arcade games and board games). Definitely a favorite local coffee shop!
