Coffee Gardens coffee is only subpar. The atmosphere was originally what drew me in, but a recent experience has changed that for me. Im a regular at this establishment, and I love being able to relax, grab a drink, and do homework--Ive never been in without purchasing a drink. The other day I was there doing homework when, after being in for about a hour, a particularly rude and discourteous staff member approached me to tell me that I must buy a drink if Im going to stay any longer. I typically like to get a good start on my homework and grab a drink a little later on, as Im usually doing homework for a few hours, so this comment was a little shocking to me. Needless to say, I wont be going back to this particular cafe, as they apparently dont support the community with a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. If youre looking for a cafe that welcomes the community and supports people in their endeavors, Id check out Sugar House Coffee. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The coffee is also crafted with more care, and any drink on the menu will attest to this. The wifi here is also poor, so if you dont have access to another network and you need access to the web, Id recommend seeking out a different cafe.

I have a few friends that go to the Coffee Garden often, so I decided to give it a try. I was looking for a small bite to save room for dinner later, but I couldnt find any vegetarian food items that sounded good. In fact they did not have many food options that looked tasty at all. I decided to go with a drink instead, and sure enough they did not have the green tea mix or powder chai mix that I like(Im not a huge coffee fan)! I ended up just getting a free cup of water and leaving. About two weeks later I decided to give it another try with a few friends that wanted a late night snack. They were out of the chocolate chip cookies that I was hoping to try! I was bummed, but instead I went with a small bottle of apple juice to call dessert. The employee rings me up and tells me that I owe two dollars, when the same bottle is 97 cents at Smiths grocery store!! I was unsatisfied with the establishment again, and not to mention the awful classical music that was blaring as we sat out on the front patio. It made me so uncomfortable for some reason. Speaking of the patio, I will mention that I enjoy the environment of the Coffee Garden. I also have had zero issues with the staff. But we will see if I ever spend money there again.

one of the better coffee places in utah.. Coffee garden reminds me of a swanky Southern California coffee place. Del Mar maybe. Baristas are wonderful the only problem i see with this place is having two people taking orders and 1 barista. Ive seen in other states where 2 people working one esspresso machine in a tandem can get high quality coffee out in a hurry. A coffee place should take no longer then 15 minutes to order and have the coffee in your hand. 20 min to order then 20 min to get it is unacceptible and you will lose customers. fyi customers can pretend to be posh trendy and even a little snooty but its your job as a customer service represenitive to smile and make coffee. not the other way around. Excellent for Salt Lake City good for a place like Vegas. what it needs to be the best. pour over and french press coffee upgraded bathroom speed up service

I can agree that the coffee isnt the best in the valley. BUT Id argue its the best coffee/$. They dont have a ton of food so I wouldnt plan on getting a meal here, but the caprese sandwiches are so good! Friendly jovial staff has been there for years (at least), they know their patrons well, and they usually have something funny or nice to say. Bazil (not sure on the spelling) is the best! Coffee garden has an upper class feel. They play classical/baroque music, inside and out front. Historic brick building, modern interior, and the restrooms are kept very clean. There IS usually a line but Ive never had to wait more than 5-10 min from entering to drinking coffee. Their wifi sucks, but Ive only tried to use it during busy hours. And Id bet the Internet will improve dramatically when google fiber is finished hooking up Salt Lake City.

First off- the photo from CitySearch on this site is wrong. That is the OLD Coffee Garden across the street. The current location is next to the Tower Theater and Cahoots. Coffee Garden is my favourite coffee house in Salt Lake City. Its open from early til late 7 days a week and has fair prices. The shop uses XMissions WiFi service so you can hook up to the net if you need to. I recommend any of the espresso beverages and one of their homemade baked goods. They also get several good pastries from Pierre, another Salt Lake City area company. I also like that its never exceptionally loud in the space and there is classical music playing. The one thing Id avoid are any of the desserts that seem to be from Costco, although if I remember correctly with the "new" space they have finally gotten rid of most of those.

Im here almost everyday! This is a lovely coffee shop, with delicious coffee and decent prices. My favorite is the soy cafe au lait, which is only $2 if you get the tall size. Another great thing is that they have the short size (8 oz), which is great, because I usually dont feel like getting anything bigger. A lot of other coffee shops dont do small sizes like this. The staff is nice and friendly, and they have a punch card where you get the 11th coffee for free. They have free wifi, but its very slow and unstable. Thats the only negative thing I can come up with about this place.

The atmosphere is pretty chill here. It does get quite busy during exam period since everyone likes to come and study. I usually get the fruit tea granita which is actually pretty good, but the coffee isnt the best in the valley. They have WiFi here, but if you dont buy something, expect them to kick you out. On top of that; the WiFi isnt that good either, it works but everything takes forever to load. Overall I dont hate it here but the management kicking people out really dampen the mood for me.

A great sit down for a coffee break paired with a delightful gift shop (Cahoots). With more than a wide variety of teas, coffee, and drinks, everyone can find something theyll like with the help of the well versed baristas! Early morning croissants are delightful! The quiches are fabulous and the pies well worth the drive. Enjoy a delightful break after spending time in liberty park, only a few minute walk away! Parking in back can be cramped, but dont be shy to the neighborhoods around.

My favorite is their mocha or dirty chai. I have tried quite a few coffee shops but always end up going back to this one as my favorite! They will alter your coffee however you like it and if it isnt how you like it or doesnt taste right, they will fix it for you. They also have a large selection of tea and pastries. The molasses cookies are amazing! The staff is very friendly and quick. The atmosphere is comfortable and there is a lot of room so you can usually find a seat.
