This week, a tiny sign on a tiny refrigerator case in the produce section alerted me to the fact that this store is "transitioning" vendors and some products might not be available. I appreciate the heads up, however, this was not a tiny event as some refrigerated cases and shelves were so bare I could take a nap in the vacant space. Would you please be more specific at the front door of the commissary, not 10 minutes in, and Ill know to shop elsewhere. Minimizing the truth is the same as lying, and I dont appreciate the insult to my intelligenge and the waste of my limited time. In addition, the baggers were so agressive and rude Im questioning the need for stateside commissaries as currently administered by a DECA staff who are not qualified to shop in the stores they are responsible for. Im sure it makes sense to someone, but Im looking elsewhere to stretch my money and time.

Constantly out of something. Deletes well selling items from stock. Turkeys are always the highest price in the area during Holidays, by a lot! Handicapped carts are always positioned where a handicapped person cannot get to the plug or in a cart????? No commonsense here! Worst produce in the area, often turning on the shelves. Milk has short shelf life compared to area stores. Its like this store toys to make you shop in the local area, and when you can avoid all the problems listed above and get brand name food cheaper, what use is the Commissary? Down Town competes, the commissary does not and then charges a surcharge and you have to tip baggers. Not down town, even after tax, you save down town and get all the items you wanted!

Probably the worst commissary weve ever been to, and we just got here from Korea. We found a lot of expired products, like butter, cheese, and orange juice. Im not talking about 2-3 days expired, Im talking about 3-4 weeks. Rowena (our cashier) was very rude and unfriendly as well. Thank goodness HEB is close by, as we wont be doing anymore grocery shopping here, especially since Texas doesnt have taxes on grocery items (compared to a surcharge and tip at the commissary).

Its a commissary. Its big, but by far not the best or the worst. Very average. Decent produce and meat selection, but for quality I would go to HEB (or even Walmart). If Im on base, need groceries, and its convenient, it is worth the trip. Otherwise, not worth the marginal savings to just go to another store.

Great selection, is usually crowded during lunchtime and right when work lets out. Lots of retirees shop here so be patient and respectful of your elders when shopping here, watch the expiration dates closely, and have small change or bills to tip the baggers who are typically experts at packing your stuff.

I GREW UP IN THE 60S WHEN MY DAD WAS STATIONED OUT AT RANDOLPH AND THEN AGAIN IN THE EARLY 70S.....THIS COMMISSARY HAD INDEED COME A VERY LONG WAY.....IT WAS REALLY NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT BACK THEN BUT FROM PICTURES IVE SEEN OF IT NOW IM EXTREMELY IMPRESSED!!!!!

Even though this commissary is small it still has everything you want and then some. It has a full deli and sushi bar, organic produce, on site butcher and much more.

All Commissaries are pretty good. If you are in a state that has sales tax on the food, they are worth it. If not, the 5.5% surcharge is like a tax.

Love the fresh sushi here. The meat selection isnt what Im used to from other commissaries but it certainly beats most local grocery stores.
