In an effort to support a locally owned lumber yard, I purchased 120 tongue and groove cedar boards which were delivered in bundles of six. Upon opening the first bundle, I noticed that three boards were damaged. I contacted Braundera Lumber to inform them, mentioning that I was intending to return and exchange all damaged boards after sorting through them. It turned out, that 20 of the boards were damaged and could not be used for smooth side installation, some of them were heavily damaged on both sides and therefore, they were totally worthless and should never have been sold to anybody. In the process of staining the good boards, some of the damaged boards got splattered on the smooth side. Today, I went back to the lumber yard in order to exchange all the damaged boards. I was told that any stained board would not be taken back since it could not be resold. Three of the damaged boards were stained on the smooth side and could actually have been resold showing the rough side. I agreed that such a board could not be exchanged. The majority of the 20 boards were badly damaged on both sides, making them completely useless. However, the salesman, with a very condescending grin on his face, still refused to exchange them as long as they had any trace of stain on them, trying to convince me that they could not be resold. I argued that those boards were not what I had paid for, and they should never have been sold to me or anybody else in the first place. He accused me of being unreasonable for expecting them to open up and check every bundle. He also had the arrogance to claim that after all, 20 damaged boards (15%!!) was not so bad. In my opinion, Braundera Lumber is not trustworthy. I deeply regret having spent over $1,200.00 in that place, wasting around $200.00. Obviously, they lost me as a customer for good. I will be in need of many hundreds of square feet of tongue and groove ceiling boards in the future, however, Braundera Lumber will definitely not be my supplier! I learned that trying to support this lumber yard was not appreciated at all. Had I made this purchase at Lowes or the Home Depot, I could have expected to receive what I had paid for. In case of any dissatisfaction, an exchange or refund would have been handled with integrity and an apology!

Dont plan on buying lumber from these guys if youre doing home improvement projects over a three-day weekend. They dont just close for the holiday, they close for the entire weekend. But theyre normally open on Saturdays, so you show up like a sucker, expecting them to be open. Burned twice now and not happy about it.

Great place to go if your looking for building or hardware. Just like the good old days before the big box stores came around. Their knowledgeable staff willing to assist you with your projects. Highly recommend if your looking for quality lumber, or if you just wanna harken back to the good ol days!

Its great knowing a local place where all the pros go. Even though they handle the huge outdoor living projects, they always take the time to answer my questions and help me out with my honey-dos and my doghouse. Love them. Long live Braundera!

Only place in the city that I will buy wood and screws from. It feels like youre stepping back in time to a place where people still care about treating you like a friend and not just someone trying to take your money.
