Had to deal with the Geek Squad recently. These people are a bunch of sneaky crooks. On top of that they are extremely lazy. I go in to have my computer looked at and the rep that came to me turned me around stating that he needed the discs that came with the computer to check it out. I go home and get them and come right back just to have the same person tell me its the wrong one (how is that being its the one that was in the box that the computer came in) and then told me to call Dell and get the discs from them. Before the discs come in I decide to go back again just in case. Im seen by a different rep and was told that the computer is completely dead. Basically he led me to believe that I had no choice but to go look for a new computer. I asked if they could at least retrieve the data off of the hard drive of my computer that I brought in and he said yes and that I would take a day. I go to the computer department and I was asked what price range I was looking for and I advised that I was on a budget. I was directed to a pair of "Officially Geek Squad Refurbished" computers. They had a Dell for about $320 and I decided to go ahead and get it. I take it home and every single program on the computer jammed up. I had to constantly refresh the internet every time I went to a new page. Needless to say not even 24 hours later I take it back. They tried to act like I was dumb when I brought it back in with the questions they were asking me. They then take the computer to the back and a good while later come back out saying nothing is wrong (who knows what they did back there) and then proceeded to say it was my internet that was the issue and tried to convince me to take it back. Since they wanted to insult me in such a way I just went and grabbed a brand new one (mind you this time no one was in the computer sections what so ever and I was just starred at by other associates in other departments and no one said or did anything) and just purchased it. Also asked on the status of my data transfer and they told me that they were just then getting started on it (though I was told it would have been done that day) and that it would be finished the following day. I take the brand new computer home and it works like a charm (happens to be the computer Im typing this review on). I return the following day to check on my data transfer because it was supposed to be done and wouldnt you they hadnt even started it. I sit and watch them through the window as they scramble placing my hard drive from one reader to another for about 15 minutes and then they come out and say that they cannot perform the data transfer. Their excuse is that the hard drive must be physically damaged and the only thing that can be done at that point is to have the hard drive sent off to some off site location to have a data recovery done. Lets keep in mind a data transfer costs $99.99 however after their 15 minutes of scrambling they tell me all that can be done is a data recovery which starts at $250.00 up to $500.00. Bottom line with this location is they are: Liars, Shady, Crooks, Insulting, and Lazy

What was initially a positive review has evolved into a nightmare when dealing with appliance delivery: Yet again another company not taking care of business and having piss poor customer service. #bestbuy I think they switched delivery contracts and this one is likely on the delivery company #pacifichomeandkitchen aka #pacificappliance. I bought a washer and dryer set during their major appliance sale on Presidents day. The lady who was also the manager was very nice and accommodating but thats the extent of my positive comments. Over the last 2 weeks we have been rescheduled 3 times for which thew most recent I had to call corporate at work to talk to the store to figure out what the heck is happening. The last interaction I had with the delivery company was bottom line rude, unprofessional, and was punctuated by a lady hanging up in my face when I demanded a solid delivery time frame after being jerked around 2 times previously. Now they did not even bother to call to confirm delivery tomorrow so I have no idea if they are even going to deliver it or when. Im going to have to work to earn my leave of absence which will be next week and the hope is that someday I get my washer and dryer. Its been 2 weeks going on week 3 of the saga, and I have already reconnected my old washer and dryer as there is so much uncertainty if I will even ever receive the product I paid for. So today I am going to either A get a guarantied delivery or a refund by visiting store #152 in the Alamo Ranch shopping center in San Antonio Texas. If this does not work I will dispute the charge with #Citibank for whom I have been a loyal debtor with through the best buy platinum rewards card for whom I am a platinum level customer due to the amount I have spent in that store to get my first home purchase situated. I will have them redact the charges in addition to that I will request that the Better Business Bureau impose sanctions on this store. 2014 - 2015 has indeed been the year of rude, unprofessional, counterproductive businesses, chalk another to the list. Next time I may just go through #Lowes or a store that specializes in appliances as these companies have not failed me yet and their employees to include contract delivery staff are effective and polite. Followup: As stated before the in-store employees are pretty good however the manager that sold me the appliances happened to be there and she is a tough woman. I like that. She called the delivery company and got a firm delivery date that works for us after questioning why I had been rescheduled so many times. I am quite happy with the level of professionalism that #BestBuy employee demonstrated and the level of service that the in-store employees provide. She was prompt, decisive, stern, and effective, and negotiated effectively. She would make a good store/regional manager. I worked for a lady like that in retail and she was promoted twice from store manager, to regional store manager with the store being established as the regional seat, and then moved on to eventually work for corporate.

This HAS to be, hands down, the worst, most understocked and misleading Best Buy location. On several occasions, I was given false information about products, staff miscalculated discounts, prices changed by manager as per his whim (not per the advertised discount on floor model items) and moreover, incompetent teenagers that work there argued with me on how simple arithmetic works on taking a percentage off the sticker price as advertised. Occasion 1: At&t Galaxy note launch - Phone advertised all over the store in ads, circulars, kiosks but on launch day, no model available on the floor for demo. Not even a plastic non-functional one. Occasion 2: Floor model speaker set on sale for 60% off. BB staff member calculates 60% of MSRP and thats what I was asked to pay. NOT 40%, but I was asked to pay 60%. I asked how he calculated what the discounted price was and he says, 60% of X = what I pay. WOW! Occasion 3: Microsoft announced Surface Pro tablet to be launched on Feb 9th, but Best Buy and other stores announced, display model to be on the floor on Feb 5th. I called this specific Best Buy, talked to a lady who convinced me that they had a Surface Pro tablet on the floor for display and confirmed it wasnt the RT but the PRO. I went to the store at 8 pm to find that not only was the PRO NOT on display, but none of the staff knew anything about it. I asked the staff if I could see a working Windows Phone and you guessed it, they didnt even have a working windows phone to demo to their customers. Lots of android devices but not a single Windows Phone?? Tonight was the final straw in giving this store another chance to win my business but their continual shortcomings will have me visiting a store farther away.
