Half Price Books in Round Rock is always an enjoyable visit. The offerings vary with their purchases which show a decent discretion toward quality. On a recent trip to find a few things for our preschool grandson--one about dinosaurs, one about bugs, and something with a bit of phonics--things that caught my eye included a history of modern warfare, The Post Office by Charles Bukowski, a book about Texas gardens, some old Asimov hard backs, a pictorial history of Williamson County, a pictorial history of California, and a clean hardcover of Human Action by Ludwig von Mises. With a little more time and money, I might have happily bought them all--at good prices. Thats the sort of feeling one hopes to take away from a bookstore. This store puts me in mind of some of the haunts I loved before Crown decimated the independent bookstores and Barnes & Noble and Borders swooped in to nurture our Stockholm Syndrome.

This place does not have as much atmosphere as The Book Spot in Round Rock however it is larger and so there is more with regards to selection. I found everything that I came in to look for and it was pretty cheap considering how many books I bought. I would have given this location 4 stars but when I used the restroom the sink would not turn on. I went into the other restroom that they had and the sink was broken there as well. Because I already had soap on my hands I had to wash my hands in the water fountain. I thought it was a pretty funny situation but also an inconvenience.

I get a lot of my music here. Its right next door to Kaleidoscope Toy Store. So while my kids are at the toy store with my wife, Im at the book store looking at movies, cds, architectural books etc. Youd be surprised what you can find here. They have the wildest selection on books! Theres been many times when I would buy a book and sell it back to them a month or so later. They will credit you and you use the money for your next purchase.

The staff is cool, not too hipstery-standoffish and even though it might take them 100 years to find a particular title, they almost always have something worth buying. Sign up for their newsletter and youll get coupons and announcements. These stores are awesome. This one is a bit cozier than others, but thats fine by me. Its not dirty and we even scored a great blu-ray collection for 30 bucks. Great record buys as well!

After bringing in 7 bags full of good book and magazines I was told it would be 40 minutes before my offer was ready. I said I was going to Home Depot for 5 minutes and the clerk said I could not leave or I had to take my books with me. Thats with everyone. I had to stay until my offer was ready. Donate you things to salvation Army or goodwill. Fracking horrible horrible. customer service.

I dont often travel to Round Rock but this Half Price location is really great. I have been able to find some great DVDs that normally get snatched up quickly at the other stores and while the comic section isnt as large as the North Lamar store, they at least bag and board all thier issues and all are in alphabetical order. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

I always find a great bargain. Never sold any books or anything here, but you can usually find pretty good deals and theyve got a decent selection. Several of my favorite authors are out of print, and Ive been lucky enough to have been able to find several books here. Theyve got a large vinyl selection as well, which is awesome :)

I think the prices for their book are fair and they are constantly getting new stuff. still if you are selling your books expect to get underpaid for them after all that is how they keep prices down. good selection of books, magazings and dvds though. My hubby and my kids love this place.

Always something new to find. Ive been going here for years and though I see new staff a lot, all are friendly and willing to help. My children love browsing the Clearance movie section. Great atmosphere, great staff, fun events. There is extra parking around the side/back of the store.

Do not sell your items to this store. Not honest people. They only wanted 30 DVD/CDS out of a box of 193 items. When I got there to pick up the unwanted items they had put them ALL away. ALL AWAY!!! After talking to the manager they only got me $20. I was robbed today at this store.

They have many books in just about every category you could think of. The store and restrooms are clean. They have books, movies, CDs, arts and crafts gift kits, how-to videos and more at great prices. The staff is friendly and will let you linger around while you sit and read.

It is a nice place to look around and take your time. The employees are real nice and helpful. There is one cute dark haired girl employee who works there, I didnt catch her name but was really sweet. Now is one of my favorite half price book locations in central Texas.

My "to go to" bookstore. Great selection and for most part great staff. The selling process is easy although the money you may receive may not be what you expect. Nice store. Should have a coffee store within it or somewhere to sit though.

They really hate children here, they have staff parked in the childrens section whose job is to shoo children away. Many of the "used" books are more expensive than new ones at Wal-mart in the same strip mall.

This was my first visit to half priced books and I wad pleasantly surprised. I really dont read books that often but ended up walking out of here with 3 books. They have all kinds of stuff for a GREAT price.

They have a great selection of books now they dont have everything but a lot of the books are brought in by people who just dont want the books anymore. If they dont have what you want there are other books

The store itself is very large with a good selection of manga. Staff wasnt overly excited, but a good experience overall.

Normal half price books store, everything is scattered but if you dig youll find something you like at a good price
