I have been a shopper at TEM for years so I have seen it in its glory days, to its downfall, and finally its desperate attempt to reinvent itself. Despite their attempts to clean up and sophisticate this mall, it was all for naught. I was there recently to get a battery changed in my watch. Luckily, I only had to suffer 15 minutes in this place and will never go to this mall again. First of all, the entire place smelled like a toilet. Everywhere my daughter and I walked, it wreaked of soiled, stagnant toilet water. The only relief we got from the stench was to walk into a department store. When they first re-styled this place, they put in these great restrooms which were always clean. You could count on it. Now, its like they dont care anymore. The bathrooms were filthy with paper all over the floor, messy counters, empty soap dispensers (I had to try 3 before I found one with soap in it), and dirty stalls. The second disappointment is there is nothing for kids to do in this mall. Sure there is the play area for little ones, but if your kid is over the height limit, there is nothing for them to do. There are no toy stores, no Build-a-Bear, no Lego store, nothing. I would have been moderately satisfied with one toy store, but there was nothing. The only thing I could do to pacify my 7 year old as we waited for my watch to be fixed was go into a tween jewelry store and look at accessories. This mall is clearly created for tweens and teens. They used to market it as a mall for moms due to the new play area next to the great restrooms. The play area is now on the other side of the mall from the stinky restrooms. That was an inconvenient touch. Well, this is one mom who will not be returning. Ill find somewhere else to get my watch fixed in the future.

It has what you need. True some stores need to go before it starts to look like a bazaar, but it still feels like home. I have seen this place at its worst, and best. Its a lot safer then what the rumors are telling you, security really cracks down on any potential gang activity, there are Police patrolling both inside and out as well, they even bring K9 units every once in a while. The Chick-fil-A here has the best service and speed by far, I highly recommend you try The Churro Factory, and although a bit chaotic H&M has great deals on clothing. The T-mobile here (there are 2 of them I highly recommend the corporate location) the one in front of JC Penny, with the wrap around glass windows has by far the best customer service sales reps I have ever dealt with. They even have a Hispanic goodie kiosk down stairs in front of American Eagle!

Im giving the mall a bad review because of the pet store. I like basically everything about that mall but I went into the pet store today and was outraged. Ive been in there a couple times before and it wasnt great but nothing as bad as today. All of the bird cages had filthy water, so filthy you couldnt see the bottoms of the bowls. The cages were all very dirty, and the was a dead baby bird in one of the cages. It looked like a baby had hatched there, and died days ago. I told an employee and all they said was "I know" and walked off. I will not be shopping at the mall until the do something about this pet store, the rest of the mall takes better care of its retail items then this place takes care of living creatures. Its disturbing.

I had a wierd time deciding wether to give 4 or 5 stars. I would give 5 stars because I really dont have any complaints about the mall itself, however the patrons arent the best either which made me want to give 4. Plus whenever I choose to visit a mall its usually some other mall besides TownEast. Maybe because of the patrons, but I personally think its small. It has 2.5 levels, with the upper level just being the food court which is decent. They have chic-fil-a, taco bell, McDonalds, and some other generic food shops. Not sure what else to say, as long as they have what you want then not much else matters. Hence the reason i still shop here occasionally.

Northpark is around the corner from me, but they have booted anything non-pretentious the last year so Town East is my go-to when I want good parking (compared to Uptown where you PAY for ANY parking), and a good, broad selection of stores for everyone. The mall itself is actually pretty nice, but the department stores are in decline probably because of high theft. I dont go to a mall for the clientele, I dont care who looks like what and I ultimately feel safe here. Frisco is too far, so Town East or Firewheel is your best bet around Dallas without going high-end.

Probably Mesquites major attraction. I remember it was the fun place to hangout and roam around when I was a kid in the 90s. Until I got my first job there, thats when I found myself already used to the mall. Nowadays, I dont really shop here much any more. I kinda find this mall has gone downhill. Major retailers are messy, unorganized, careless as thieves go unnoticed, stores and kiosks are not that appealing and the restrooms are smelly and nasty. I choose NorthPark over Town East. Only Sears Auto I like, they do a good job servicing my car.

for those people that complain about the class of people in the mall just say u dont want to be around minorities..be truthful.. you go to the mall to spend your money not to concern yourself about the dress code of others who arent bothering you..believe me Northpark isnt that great just people who think theyre better than everyone else.. Town East has gone down over the years but you cant tell people they cant come if they dont cause problems,,,

It might be low traffic, but I like it here! Its super dreary in the morning, but it always perks up in the afternoons. There isnt much entertainment. It seems that shopping and the food court are the only things here. Could definitely use an arcade or electronics store. Its all clothes and fashion. Theres really nothing to GRIP the men here. But I can imagine that its a shopping girls paradise!

I only went to J C Penny. The people could have been friendlier, a bit more personable. A few older ones acted as if they didnt want to be bothered. I headed toward the customer service counter to ask where the restroom was at located and as I approached she immediately screamed I m closed, I dont know where shes going!" But a younger lady helped me with a very pleasant attitude!

And not in a good way. This mall is nice but in the afternoons and on Sundays building management turns off the air conditioning so this place gets really warm, really quickly. Needless to say this mall is not fun to shop in once the temperature rises and deodorant begins to fail. Ill gladly drive the extra distance to Northpark or Galleria if I can be in a comfortable place.
