Our attempt to eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel this morning was one of the most awful experiences Ive ever had at a restaurant. We were seated for 5-7 minutes before we were asked what we wanted to drink. Prior to being greeted, we heard two servers arguing over who had to take our table. We ordered water, coffee, and a kids whole milk for our toddler. When we received our drinks, we were given a chocolate milk for our son. I asked the server for the whole milk instead and also for some biscuits so that our son could begin eating something. She said she would try to get to that but they were swamped. She brought out some burnt and dried biscuits a minute later. We then waited for our food for over an hour. The server did not come by to inform us of what was going on in the kitchen or why we hadnt received our food until we had waited at least 45 minutes. At that point she said the manager was going to make sure our food came out. Our son was growing more restless and still no food. The manager finally came out to tell us that the food would be out soon, but at that point we had decided we would leave and go somewhere else. She persuaded us to stay, apologized, and said that she would be taking care of our meal. Unfortunately, the experience never improved. When the food finally came out, our eggs werent fully cooked, my pancake and my husbands meat were overcooked and dried, and we were missing a portion of our meals (hash browns). We decided to leave and wont be returning anytime soon, if ever.

I recieved a gift card from a family member, so I took my wife last nght to try it out. The waitress we had seemed new, and didnt know a lot about the menu, but she tried hard and got things taken care of. I ordered a 10oz sirloin, mashed potatoes, corn, and ranch style beans. My wife ordered a chicken salad and a side of mac & cheese. She liked the mac & cheese, but she said the salad was not good. My steak was pretty bad, it looked like it had been repeatedly ran through a meat tenderizer, and it had a lot of fat in it. The raspberry lemonade wasnt very good either. Just as I told my wife that I didnt like the steak, I tried the beans. I was disgusted when I found a peice of some kind of plastic wrapper in the beans. I had totally lost my appetite at that point, and I informed the waitress of what I had found. She immediately got the manager, and she said it was probably part of the bag that the beans come in. She offered to get me something else and make it up to me, but I had no appetite and I was pretty grossed out at that point. So she left and the waitress came back and handed me the bill for the full price of the meal. I was pretty angry, but I was using a gift card, so I didnt complain about it. I was completely unimpressed with the whole experience. I will not be going back, and I wont go to any of the other locations either.

I wouldnt recommend anyone to go to cracker barrel in mesquite. First time ever to Craker Barrel and the first time happen to be the last time as well. It took them around 15 minutes to come and take the order. Ordered for 2 chicken fried chicken and one chicken fried stake. But she brought 2 chicken fried stake and one chicken fried chicken. Then again it took her 10 minutes to bring the right food. At the end she forgot to give the check, we had ask for it and wait for another 10 minutes to get the check. And the items on the check and the amount was wrong as well. Finally we go to the counter to pay the bill and we explained about the wrong items on the check and the cashier call another lady(Probably supervisor), and it took 5 minutes for the supervisor to get it right and come back from inside. Once she comes outside and trying to charge us the wrong amount, then again we had to explain to her what really happened. And whats funny is, the supervisor lady gets mad at us even though it was their mistake. They just dont want to accept their mistake. Horrible customer service.

The young hostest ignored our small group of 3 at the booth, no hello, nothing. The layout of the restaurant is horrible, very cramped. The hard ass chairs perfectly compliment the tiny ass tables. I ordered the sirloin steak, brown rice pilaf, greens, and macaroni. The other 2 order chicken fried steak and potatoes. The food comes and one of the plates had the order ticket laying on top of the food (literally on the food), and the waitress serves it just as it was, as if the paper was supposed to be eaten. My steak was the most well seasoned piece of ornery horse calf Ive ever eaten, and the "bacon" in my collard greens were tougher than beef jerky. The chicken fried steaks were overcooked so damn hard they would have choked up a garbage disposal. The rice pilaf was bland enough to be on a diabetic gluten free menu, and I could have used the mashed potatoes to reseal my tub. The only decent thing about the experience was the price, which was a bit lower than, say, Cheddars. But, hell, KFC has low prices too, and decent seats!!!!

I am getting very frustraighted by all the farse reviews, I dont want to get flagged for this, but i would even say enraged. While there are several that are correct, such as justin who says "You can browse the store while you wait for a table" or Amanda who says "Five Stars", but all these people saying things about bad, or even brazenly commenting on the weight of the poor waitress, i cannont accept this, its not their fault, what with their empolyees discount and all. The worst of all is the hellishly sarcastic comment from hog baus. How could you even have such little respect for wemon, this is JUST WRONG. Possibly worse is the blatent lie, written by the slanderer known only as "Sam". How dare you. How dare you even make such a claim. The meatloaf, is not the best great service, PERIOD. It may be "just so nice" and "The best the cashier and everyone is" may well be, but dont you ever, EVER, sit there and tell all these people that the meatloaf is the best great service.

Rude AF!!! The old dinosaur had to open the door for me, so i could pick up my togo order! Needless to say, it didnt seem like he was happy to open it at all! I wasnt ever greated, or even spoke to in a respectful manner, in any way! He treated me like a homeless person when he finally did open the door, and asked me if i need a cup of water or something! I then replied, im here to pick up my togo order! After finally getting in to get my order, upon leaving, the same dinosaur jerk had to open the door for me, and he let both doors slam on my face, and all the food, i just spent my hard earned money on!! This guy must really hate his job, and you could totally tell, he was someone like the manager, or store manager! This was totally unacceptable, and will never return! That old man better learn some RESPECT, before a yougster has to show him the hard way!
