This mornings story: Well, I live in The Woodlands and work around the corner from this Donut shop. I tend to stop in from time to time over the past year plus. Never had a problem and the donuts and koloches are average. Not a Shipleys, but palatable. Yet on today, I was literally running on three hours sleep after preparing for a Childrens home visit all night that takes place today. I ordered a small koloche and a donut totaling $2.11 and handed a $20 bill from my wallet and began to look for the change in my wallet,. I could see in my peripheral vision she was feeling the bill and holding it up to the light. No problem, as I place the .11 cents on the counter. Then she inquired if I had two one dollar bills, I only had one. She then said, well I dont have change. Now I am alerted to something is wrong. I paraphrased, "you dont have change?" She said, "yes." I then said, "what...do you think I gave you fake money or something?" and she said, "Yes!" I was blown away, but realized the bill could have been slipped to me and fake. So, I said, "you lied to me and said you didnt have change?" I then handed her another $20 from my wallet, but pretty upset now that I have been marked as a criminal handing out counterfeit money. She accepted the other bill, made change and asked to heat my food, but all I wanted was out of there. I was not upset about her thinking it was fake, but upset that she wasnt truthful which made me feel like she really thought I knew this bill was fake. I then told everyone at my job and we passed the bill around and then I took it to a banker who said the bill was legitimate tenure. It was old from 1996 and one of the first watermark bills, but good legal tenure. I am so disappointed in the way that lady handled me at the counter. She also stole my $.11 cents. Lol, what a days beginning, wont ever go back again, not that they care.

The best doughnuts and kolaches Ive ever had, hands down. Im a Shipleys fan as well, but I would take these doughnuts (especially the buttermilk) and kolaches over Shipleys any day!
