Mansard Island Resort & Marina - I am in total shock right now after getting off the phone with the owner Frank Martino!! My fiancee booked a townhouse for our family vacation at Mansard Island Resort back on June 6th. At that time she was given several options as to rooms available and also options to rent a pontoon boat while we stayed there. She paid a deposit and was sent a confirmation e-mail from the owners wife Kim confirming our reservation, dates, and add on of our boat rental for two days. Yesterday she received a call telling her that they had over booked and that there were no rooms for us. I called this morning and left a message about our booked and confirmed room only to get a call back from the owner Frank Martino who basically told me there was nothing he could do other than to refund our money and say he was sorry! SORRY, really, 4 days before we are scheduled to check in and he informs us that they over booked. I asked him to help resolve the issue and after telling me there was nothing he could do and that he wasnt going to argue with me and then he hung up on me. This was to be our 1st family vacation together in three years and I had to watch her cry herself to sleep over this last night. Not to mention our daughter is very upset as she was counting on a fun family vacation over the holiday weekend. Shame on you Frank and Kim. I hope Karma bites you both sooner than later! I am not one to complain or leave bad reviews about anyone or any place but cancelling our booked and confirmed reservation was pitiful and now not doing anything to make this right is totally unprofessional on then owners part. The reviews about your place were one of the reasons we decided to make a reservation there. Not to mention my fiancees brother who is a Desert Storm Veteran and in poor health lives in the area and we were planning to spend some time with him over the holiday weekend. Your incompetence has ruined our family vacation, something to be proud of Im sure. Hanging up on me while I was asking you to help solve the problem that YOU ALL created was also very unprofessional. Trust me, we will never consider visiting your so called resort in the future and your mistake should have been corrected one way or another!!!

Weve been to this resort several times and have enjoyed it. We dont really do anything other than go to the pool and relax outside the camper in some lawn chairs. Although we liked it, there is one thing that will keep us from returning...if someone comes to visit you, they are charged a fee to enter the grounds. We have family in the area who like to come out to visit us when were in the area and we sit at our lot and catch up. I could understand the fee for people who will be using the pool , other facilities or staying overnight...but not for people who are just coming to visit with a customer who is already paying for their lot. I dont think its right. Every resort has their own set of "rules"...but as the math works, the revenue from our business if we continued to visit each summer would far exceed the fees collected from our lawn-chair-sitting guests. This fee was enough for us to look elsewhere in the area and there are places that do not charge such fees.

I grew up going to Mansard Island, it was always fun, full of guest and had friendly owners and a great staff that always made you feel welcomed. Today, its a joke! I wouldnt recommend ANYONE stay there. The owner, Frank, which is a different owner from when I used to go there, has totally ruined a nice place that was always fun. Hes rude, mean and has no customer service skills. He wants to charge guest for every little thing and is far from neighborly to the, mainly retired, people that own homes around there. Dont waste your time or money on this "resort"! You will be terribly disappointed! One star is OVERRATED!

Great place to stay, its our second home. Been going almost 4 years. Great salt water pool. Grounds well groomed. Two stocked ponds for campers and the kids. Large play ground and basketball courts. Friendly people, owners and employees always ready to help. We also use the dock and slips. Easy in and out. Close to actives on KY lake. I just cant say enough about this campground. YOU have to give a try, you will not be disappointed.

We have been camping here for over 3 years and never had any issues. This is a great place to stay. The staff are very friendly and help out whenever needed. They have many things to do for kids and adults. Amazing salt water pool. Tons of fun for the whole family. There is no way I would go anywhere else. Mansard island is highly recommended in my book.

Never Stayed here but After the phone call to Reserve the place OMG.. He Wanted to Physically keep my Credit Card well Im out on the boat What? He was just rude didnt really want to setup anything then hung up me. Called back thought it was a mistake and the person i spoke to said it was the Owner that i just talked too. WOW

Save a headache and dont waste your time or overcharged money here. Owners not friendly or helpful. Cottages and condos stink and furniture is falling apart. Wondered why place was almost empty over Memorial Day weekend and now we know why. It used to be a great place to stay years ago. So sad. ☹️

I love coming here to stay with my friends. Its clean, roomy....you dont feel crowded by other campers. The owners are very nice and help out in any way that you can. Really nice pool if you dont care for the lake water. Great place to come and relax with friends and family!

It was a great expirence, with great service and facilities (including an almost perfect pool score). One thing thou about the resort is boat renrals are a little pricey but not by much. In all it was a good trip and id go back anytime.

Manager seemed money hungry found anyway to charge extra. My advice is that the people who own this place find someone other than the Mr Frank to run the place. Very shady guy
